Antipode is widely praised as a standout brunch spot with visually stunning plates and a creative, sometimes daring menu. The drinks, especially pistachio and tiramisu lattes, are frequently highlighted as showpieces that taste as good as they look, while mains range from the croque tartiflette and brisket eggs Benedict to shakshouka and pain perdu yuzu, with generous portions that help offset a higher price tag. The atmosphere is described as chic, cozy, and Instagrammable, though the space can get crowded and weekend lines are common, with no reservations and wait times that can be long at peak hours. Service is often attentive and friendly, but experiences vary, with some reports of slow pacing, less consistent smiles, or moments when the pace feels rushed during busy times. Overall, Antipode tends to be valued for quality, originality, and presentation, making it a go-to for a memorable brunch despite the price and occasional accessibility issues.
This is a must visit! Mother, aunt & I had brunch. Best cappuccino, coffee is flavourful & reasonable price. Portions are the perfect size. We were full leaving. Staff are friendly & attentive. We will be back again!
Can't leave Montreal without having brunch! I haven't had good brunch outside of Montreal actually lol, & idk why. I chose a new place to dine in this time instead of the places I usually go to (L'Avenue, Le Passé Composé, etc.). The interior was artistic & had Renaissance art, such as the Statue of David). I ordered:
Croque Madame $20
Egg, ham & bacon, on croissant
Pistachio Latte $8.50
I think the service in this place is super slow. Food was good, drinks were interesting. I wouldn't mind coming back again for other items, as everything looked so aesthetic.
A stellar brunch spot for the most gorgeous plates & drinks! This location doesn't take reservations & gets super busy, so be prepared for a bit of a wait at peak hours. Luckily for us, it was only about a ten minute wait on a Saturday around 11:30. The staff are alert & frequently, so don't be afraid to ask about the menu. The interior is chic with lots of interesting decorations to observe.
Of course, you have to try their stunning beverages. We got the London Fog & the Latte Rosé. The drinks were really smooth & soothing for a cold morning.
The menu has good variety, & we chose the croque tartiflette, the brisket & champignons eggs Benedict, & the pain perdu yuzu. The entrees are pretty expensive, but the portions are extremely large, which slightly makes up for the price. The croque tartiflette had two huge slices of crusty sourdough bread filled with caramelized onion chutney, bechamel sauce, & cheddar cheese. It was also topped with more melty cheese & bacon, a the whole croque was placed over a huge fried cheese skirt. The eggs Benedict had crunchy English muffins topped with a healthy amount of delicious brisket, poached eggs, & really fresh mushrooms that had a potent aroma. Finally, the pain perdu yuzu looked phenomenal. There were two huge slabs of fried, crunchy bread served alongside a poached pear, yuzu gel, & vanilla ice cream with crumble.
Antipode will deliver a hearty, delicious brunch that will put you right to sleep!

Lovely spot for brunch, just impossible to find parking. Food was good portion, some fancier brunch places, i found myself hungry afterwards but not on this one. Both me & my wife were full to the brim.

As someone born & raised in this city, I've seen it all in Montréal. However, Antipode Laurier definitely brings something unique to this city's brunch scene. If you're looking for a'one-time' bucket list brunch that will make your followers jealous, this is it!
The Atmosphere & Service:
We arrived at 11:00 AM on a Saturday & were pleasantly surprised to be seated immediately (party of 3 people). The décor feels incredibly authentic & curated, creating a vibe that is upscale yet cozy. The service was 10/10; attentive, professional, & fast!
The Food:
The dishes here aren't just food; they are art.
• The Lattes: The blue & pink lattes are showstoppers. Not just pretty, the floral & earthy notes were perfectly balanced.
• The Mains: You can taste the complexity in every bite. Whether it's the smoked salmon on brioche or the savory waffles, the flavor profiles are layered & sophisticated. They aren't playing it safe here, & I appreciate that.
The'But' (The Price Tag 💸):
Here is the honest truth: the pricing is significantly higher than other top-tier brunch spots in the city offering similar quality. While the food is great, the'Brunch Tax' here is real.
The Verdict:
• Would I go back? Probably not, given the price point.
• Do I recommend it? YES-100% at least once. You have to experience the presentation & the vibe at least once. It's a 5-star experience with a 3-star price tag!
The atmosphere is quite cozy with the greenery & the wooden interior design. It really soothes you seeing all that which makes the dining experience much better. The service was friendly but throughout the meal, I don't remember seeing any of the waiters or waitresses smile. They were quite polite though. The food itself was so pretty. It felt a bit wrong biting into the food or drinking the lattes but it tasted quite nice! I really enjoyed the flavour profiles, they really complemented each other. The portions were quite big as well. The price looks intimidating, around 25$ for a plate, but the portions were almost enough for 2, especially if you are having a latte on the side.
