Review Summary

Antipode is described as a highly popular, visually striking brunch spot in Montreal with generous portions, creative flavor combinations, and standout drinks like a pistachio latte that many call a must try. The place is frequently crowded, especially on weekends, which leads to long lines and waiting times, though service is often praised as attentive when seated. The menu covers a wide range from shakshouka and multiple takes on eggs benedict to croquettes d'aubergine, croque madame, chicken and waffles, and indulgent desserts like pain perdu and yuzu French toast, with plates praised for presentation and many noting bold, sometimes salty or sweet flavors and some items considered overpriced for the portion. Beverages are repeatedly highlighted as a highlight, with pistachio and tiramisu lattes noted for aesthetics and flavor, and the restaurant is appreciated by halal diners. The ambiance is described as cozy, rustic chic and very instagrammable, but the space can feel cramped and noisy during peak hours; lines can form even on quieter days, though many say the wait is worth it. Overall, reviews position Antipode as a top or must visit brunch destination in Montreal, valued for its creative culinary approach and striking drinks, while acknowledging occasional inconsistencies in service or value and the high price point.

I went there with my friend on a Wednesday for brunch, there was a small waiting line but the food totally worth it. Great service, fair pricing.

Amazing food & service, unfortunate that nothing comes with your plate or than the meal itself (no potatoes, fruits, toast) you have to pay extra. Also the place is quite dusty especially the ceiling air ducts which are showing their age, as well as the poorly isolated entrance doors.

The place is beautiful, & the decor is amazing. I ordered the Eggs Benedict, but to me, it didn't feel like a traditional Benedict due to the color & different taste of the sauce. I didn't love the dish-the bread was really good, & the eggs were perfectly done, but the green sauce, which had a vinegary taste, made the dish feel overly salty due to the Serrano ham. The staff was friendly, with a great presentation, & the matcha was good-I'd say that was my favorite part along with the plate presentation. Honestly, I struggled to finish the dish because it tasted too salty & vinegary. I've seen many positive reviews, so it must depend on personal preferences. However, traditionally, Benedict sauce isn't green & doesn't contain mint or herbs, but rather just butter & egg yolk.

10/10 for their AMAZINGLY fancy coffees. We tried the Tiramisu, Pistacchio & Pumpkin lattes. We also loved the food; croque madame, eggs benedict with salmon & guacamole & the francescinha. Perfect portions left us feeling satisfied & not overly stuffed. The waitress did not make us feel rushed during our brunch. ONLY downside was the one hour+ wait outside, but luckily it was a beautiful day. Will definitely come back!

It was super delicious, but we had to wait in line for one hour. so make sure you're going with someone or people you have things to talk about during that time. 😅

Tucked away in a charming corner of Montreal, offers a brunch experience that transcends the ordinary. This cozy coffee shop exudes warmth & charm from the moment you step in, but it's the food that truly steals the show. Here, dishes are not merely meals-they are edible works of art. Each plate is a masterpiece, both visually stunning & bursting with flavor, delivering everything one could hope for in a leisurely weekend brunch. What sets Antipode apart is its playful creativity. The menu is full of unexpected pairings that somehow work beautifully, like the pistachio latte-a unique creation that, while a touch too sweet for my taste, was a delightful surprise. It's exactly the kind of imaginative twist that keeps you coming back for more. The dessert, however, was the undeniable highlight of the meal. The pain perdu-a glorious, indulgent take on French toast-was generously portioned, perfect for sharing, though I found it difficult to stop eating even when full. Its richness & comforting sweetness made for a perfect ending to a delightful meal. If you're looking to treat yourself on a lazy Saturday, Antipode is the place to be. Start with the eggs Benedict & a pistachio latte, then finish with the pain perdu for a sweet, satisfying finale. & do bring a friend-these generous portions are made to be shared, ensuring you both leave feeling content & in high spirits.

Love this brunch spot in Montreal, everything is so pretty & tasty. I tried pistachio latte & I loved it, also the pancake is highly recommended, it is crispy & very nice decorated, beautiful dish. & I liked the salmon guacamole Benedict too. Staffs are very friendly & caring as well. There was a line for 15-20 min wait but definitely worth it. Highly recommended

Very welcoming, when me & my friend arrived we barely waited for a few seconds & the waitress was nice, they gave us enough time to choose what we wanted without it being too long. I really liked the pumpkin latte I also like my croque Madama but I wouldn't say I loved it. But my friend who took the croque caprese loved it so it was probably based on personal taste, overall a great experience. Would recommend.

Pistachio & tiramisu latte are very unique. I think the tiramisu is better personally. The eggs benedicts were good, there isn't too much difference between all three choices since it's the same sauce. The mushroom > the jambon. The croque madame was a bit too heavy.
