Antipode is widely celebrated as a premier brunch destination in Montreal, distinguished by its exceptionally aesthetic and flavorful menu. Visitors frequently praise the creative and generous portions, with the pistachio latte, eggs Benedict, and Yuzu French toast standing out as popular favorites. The restaurant offers a bright, cozy, and vibrant atmosphere that makes for a memorable dining experience. While the popularity of the spot often results in queues and occasional waits for tables, the majority of guests find the attentive service, unique culinary presentation, and high-quality ingredients well worth the visit, making it a highly recommended stop for those seeking an elevated brunch.
Saumon fumé & guacamole 4/5 Benedict eggs with smoked salmon & guacamole. A refreshing taste. Croque Truffe 4.5/5 Ham & truffle cheese sandwich, quite good. Gaufre & Poulet 4.5/5 It tastes like Korean fried chicken. The flavor is delicious, but it's too common for us. Pain Perdu yuzu 3.5/5 The presentation is very nice, & the pear is quite special, but the taste is just okay. Latte Pistachio 5/5 Latte Tiramisu 4.5/5 Latte Lavande 3/5 The ambiance of the restaurant is particularly beautiful, with decor featuring elements of greenery & sculptures.
Merci Antipode ! ☀️🌸🌿 Café: Latté à la pistache Repas: Pain perdu
They do not take reservations, so a lengthy wait in line is to be expected on a weekend, but it's not too bad. Once our party of two was seated, the waiter took forever to come & take our order. We took the infamous "Cochon" lattes (pistachio & speculos) which were insanely expensive & overpriced (the most expensive latte I've ever had). They were not even worth it. The coffee wasn't even pistachio/biscoff flavored, only the rim of the glass!!! Terribly disappointing for 8,50$ ! Then we chose the pain perdu & the chicken & waffles for our main. The pain perdu was quite good, very much autumn flavors, & the chicken & waffles were decent. We waited a good 45 minutes for our coffees & main to come! Our waiter would tend to other tables a lot quicker than ours. Once we finally received the bill, they charged me 1$ extra for the pain perdu, which was 23$ on the menu. I was so disappointed that I did not want to leave any tip. Will not be returning!
I think people have brainwashed themselves into thinking this is a good brunch spot.. Week after week I see lineups at this place of these influencers all dressed up waiting to get in. Luckily, I was able to get a table right away & it proceeded to take 2 hours from start to finish to get our drinks & food. Is it because the place is so sought after or is it because the service is so slow? The pistachio latte is beautiful so if you want to take a pretty picture for Instagram, it's great.. but take away the crusted glass rim & it's a pretty mediocre coffee. The eggs Benedict was nothing to write home about & at 24$ with no side you can get better elsewhere. We also tried their pain perdu which was really good at first but it gets really sweet, real fast. Beautiful decor & ambience but at over 100$ for 2 ppl for brunch, it's a little too pretentious for my palette.
Very impressed. We were waiting for about an hour to get a table & they made pain au chocolat for the ppl in the line. As for the rest, the food was phenomenal, highly recommended!
