Antipode is described as a highly popular, visually striking brunch spot in Montreal with generous portions, creative flavor combinations, and standout drinks like a pistachio latte that many call a must try. The place is frequently crowded, especially on weekends, which leads to long lines and waiting times, though service is often praised as attentive when seated. The menu covers a wide range from shakshouka and multiple takes on eggs benedict to croquettes d'aubergine, croque madame, chicken and waffles, and indulgent desserts like pain perdu and yuzu French toast, with plates praised for presentation and many noting bold, sometimes salty or sweet flavors and some items considered overpriced for the portion. Beverages are repeatedly highlighted as a highlight, with pistachio and tiramisu lattes noted for aesthetics and flavor, and the restaurant is appreciated by halal diners. The ambiance is described as cozy, rustic chic and very instagrammable, but the space can feel cramped and noisy during peak hours; lines can form even on quieter days, though many say the wait is worth it. Overall, reviews position Antipode as a top or must visit brunch destination in Montreal, valued for its creative culinary approach and striking drinks, while acknowledging occasional inconsistencies in service or value and the high price point.
I got the salmon & guacamole eggs benedict. I didn't like the secret sauce at all & the salmon was very brand, needed more salt. the guacamole wasnt guacamole, it was just mashed avocado. it was very brand & had a strange taste although I gotta admit the presentation looked beautiful
We recently visited Antipode & tried a variety of dishes, including the Shakshuka, Croque Madame, Chicken Waffle, Burrata, & Mushroom Eggs Benedict. While the food tasted decent, it didn't quite meet our expectations, especially after standing in line for about an hour. The dishes were well-presented, but the flavors were just average & lacked that wow factor. For the time & effort it took to get a table, I was hoping for a more memorable dining experience. However, I must say their drinks were the highlight of our visit. The Espresso Martini was perfectly balanced, the Tiramisu Latte had a delightful hint of sweetness, & the Pistachio Latte was a unique & delicious treat. Overall, while the food was okay, the standout beverages were what made the visit worthwhile. In my opinion, Antipode is deserving of a 3-star rating-good drinks but not necessarily worth the long wait just for the food.

We hosted a private dinner at Antipode in August 2024 for about 40 people. Everything - from the communication leading to the evening, the service, & the food - was absolutely amazing. The food, of course the most important thing- was amazing & abundant. Every guest was filled to the brim but couldn't stop eating for how delicious it was. We had a tasting menu that started with a cocktail & then the following across three services: tuna ceviche with homemade tortilla chips, eggplant croquettes, salmon tartare, Korean fried chicken, burrata with focaccia, beef tataki, truffle pasta, & a pistachio/nutella/strawberry beignet dessert. I wish I had taken better pictures but every dish was aesthetically gorgeous & tasted absolutely incredible. The restaurant is also beautiful. It's intimate & has walls that open onto the street & the restaurant's patio. The owner, Nick, was so kind & accommodating throughout. We had some fussy toddlers & babies & he did everything possible to make sure everyone was enjoying themselves. If you're thinking about Antipode for your private event, or for a weekend dinner with friends or family, do not hesitate! Just go! We will be coming back again & again for dinner & I can't wait for the next opportunity to host another private event. Milles merci Nick & team!
Saumon fumé & guacamole 4/5 Benedict eggs with smoked salmon & guacamole. A refreshing taste. Croque Truffe 4.5/5 Ham & truffle cheese sandwich, quite good. Gaufre & Poulet 4.5/5 It tastes like Korean fried chicken. The flavor is delicious, but it's too common for us. Pain Perdu yuzu 3.5/5 The presentation is very nice, & the pear is quite special, but the taste is just okay. Latte Pistachio 5/5 Latte Tiramisu 4.5/5 Latte Lavande 3/5 The ambiance of the restaurant is particularly beautiful, with decor featuring elements of greenery & sculptures.
Excellent brunch spot with wide open windows for a hybrid indoor-outdoor experience. Atmosphere is really welcoming, with Greek-hellenistic & postmodern art on the walls & around. Service: excellent. Juliette, our waitress, was attentive & kind. She serviced us in both English & French, took our orders immediately & refilled water frequently. We went for noon on a Sunday, waited a out 35 minutes in line, not bad at all since this place is viral on social media. Drinks: Went for the tiramisu latte (cold) & pistachio latte (warm). Both live up to the hype. Food: passion fruit pancakes had super flavorful sauces, mix of yuzu passionfruit Jelly & hazelnut. The pancake itself was fluffy, but could be a bit more moist & buttery. The eggs Benedict with smoked salmon & guacamole was sublime. TDLR: definitely worth the hype. Delicious food & drinks. Not a long line up for the value. Worth it A+++
I think people have brainwashed themselves into thinking this is a good brunch spot.. Week after week I see lineups at this place of these influencers all dressed up waiting to get in. Luckily, I was able to get a table right away & it proceeded to take 2 hours from start to finish to get our drinks & food. Is it because the place is so sought after or is it because the service is so slow? The pistachio latte is beautiful so if you want to take a pretty picture for Instagram, it's great.. but take away the crusted glass rim & it's a pretty mediocre coffee. The eggs Benedict was nothing to write home about & at 24$ with no side you can get better elsewhere. We also tried their pain perdu which was really good at first but it gets really sweet, real fast. Beautiful decor & ambience but at over 100$ for 2 ppl for brunch, it's a little too pretentious for my palette.
It's so worth the hype, even if you are just going for the pistacchio latte... The place opens at 10 am every day. We got there at 10:30 & had to wait 35 minutes for a table. But you know what? It wasn't that bad since the waitstaff came outside & brought us all some chocolatines while we waited. Finally our table was ready & our waitress sat us by the window. It was the best view for the spectators waiting in line, lol. After she graciously answered all our questions, she took our order. I opted for the Merguez Shakshuka because it seemed like the most popular dish. My friend ordered the truffle & mushroom eggs benedict. Both dishes were equally delicious, but the pistacchio latte was definitely the highlight of our meal. I would definitely come back, even if it's just for the pistacchio latte :-)
After watching a post on Instagram, my friend & I went to this cozy place. We waited an hour & half to get in. The staff was kind enough to offer pastry & hot beverage for those who were waiting outside. We ordered Tiramisu & Pistachio latte which were amazing. We also ordered mushroom & truffle Eggs Benedict, Salmon egg Benedict & the toast sandwich. The food was very tasty, we found the sauce mouthwatering. The only negative point was that the food served cold. Overall experience was good but not worth an hour & half of waiting in cold weather for sure!
Spring brunches are in full swing! 🌸 Just had a Croque Madame: ham, béchamel, cheese, sunny-side-up egg, & bacon. It's like a breakfast symphony with each bite hitting a different note - except for the bacon, that's more like a tasty drum solo. 🥓🎶 #BrunchinLikeABoss #EggscellentCreations

After seeing many posts from people, I've decided to try this place. It's a small cafe/breakfast place but the decor was quite cute. I ordered a pistachio latte which looked really nice & tasted quite good. I also ordered a mushroom & truffle Eggs Benedict. The truffle sauce was delicious (I LOVE truffles), & the plate looked very appetizing! I understand why so many people went to try this place! I'd like to go back & try their other menu items some day. So far so good!
I arrived 10 minutes before opening & managed to skip the line (there were already about 15-20 people ahead of me). The mushroom & truffle eggs benedict was delicious! Loved their homemade sauce & bread. The pistachio latte on the other hand was only okay, it looked prettier than it tasted. My friend enjoyed her regular coffee though. We were also lucky we got our food quickly but it seemed like everyone else waited a really long time. Many plates were ready & sitting on the countertop but wasn't being served.
Arrived at around 11am on a Sunday & waited 1h before getting seated. This restaurant is very popular for brunch so get ready to wait if coming on the weekends as they don't take reservations. While waiting in line, they handed out some chocolatines which was quite considerate! As for the food, the pistachio latte & the smoked salmon eggs Benedict were my favourite. The croque madame & merguez shakshuka were also well executed. I enjoyed the food & experience here but wouldn't come again & wait to get a seat.
Love the restaurant, our first time was wonderful, everything was exactly as we saw online, service was great very friendly staff, food was absolutely delicious, particularly the Benedict eggs! The only downside was the one hour wait time outside the restaurant, but I guess they are victims of their own success. Congratulations on the great restaurant.

We stopped in for a quick brunch before heading back home. The staff were attentive & we got seated quickly. The team there was also friendly We had two coffees Along with - Mushroom & Truffle Eggs Benedict : I would rate it's 4/5 because the truffle taste was overpowering with the rest of species they were using but the dish looked amazing ! - Yuzu Pear French Toast: we rate this 10/5! The textures & taste for the dish are complex & amazing ! You won't regret visiting & trying their food Also the atmosphere is beautiful & the interior design is beautiful for such a small space
I can see why this place is so popular - I came here with a few friends for brunch. Even before the place opened, there was quite a bit of a queue, so I recommend coming early to get a table since the restaurant is not extremely large. Best pistachio latte I've had in my life. Came here for a quick brunch with a friend, & ordered the mushroom eggs Benedict with a latte. Everything was exquisite! From the decor to the service to the food. Will definitely be coming back! 👌🏼
