It was a work group of friends outing. We looked up the resto on ig & what we saw advertised was a japanese fusion. This absolutely was NOT that! The resto was aesthetically pleasing. The hostess was very nice. The bartender was very good. The rest was not worth the outing. As a carribean the food was definitely not fooding. I had jerk chicken & parmasean fries which was french fries with parmasean cheese sprinkled on IT. The jerk chicken was actually bbq chicken without the heat. The plantain was crispy & salty. My friends had the jerk burger & when I saw what was served I was ashamed. Bun, meat, cheese thats it... another friend had jerk chicken pizza... One friend had the oxtail which was tender & salty as she described... My jerk chicken came b4 the entree then the entree (portion size for a toddler (calamari)) & by the time my fries came the chicken was cold. Overall the food was disappointing but the drinks made up. When the hostess heard about our experience she gave us a round of drinks free which was nice. I won't be back tho & as much as I wanna support a black business I gotta leave this one in the hands of the almighty & hope my white friends do not judge carribean food based on this restaurant. It had the potential to do so many things but failed miserably...
I also wanted to add that our food ordees were put in at different times & so the 2 people who gas the burgers were served 1st & then my food xame with the person who ordered the oxtail & the pizza came last. & we has to put in the plaintain order twice. The poerions leave much to be desired as well.
A must try!! The food was absolutely amazing. The jerk chicken tacos is probably the best food we've ever had. Service was attentive & friendly. Atmosphere of this place is really great. Cocktails, food, & atmosphere make you feel like you are in an upscale luxury restaurant. Everything is made very fresh & the tapas style menu is a perfect way to try everything because everything is truly delicious. Will recommend this place to any & everyone, it's a hidden gem.
Visiting from NYC & was hoping to have some Caribbean food on our last night in Montreal.
Unfortunately, we did not have a good experience here. The service was extremely slow & unorganized. We waited about an hour just to receive our drinks & about an hour & a half for our food.
When the food finally arrived, the portions were very small for what we were expecting. My oxtail came with a small scoop of rice & only about four pieces of oxtail, & unfortunately, the oxtail was extremely salty. My sister-in-law said the jerk chicken was good, & my husband enjoyed the Rasta pasta, so there were a couple of positives.
The service was the biggest issue. Our food was initially brought to another table, placed in front of them, & then picked back up & brought over to us. Everything just seemed very disorganized. There also appeared to be people who were hanging out at the restaurant helping serve food, which was a little concerning.
Overall, the experience was disappointing, especially considering how long we waited. The restaurant has potential, but the service & organization definitely need improvement.
We will never be back but wishing the best to the restaurant.
Tacos were the best I've ever had! Oxtail was great & the jerk was delicious but I would've loved it more with some of the more traditional spice. Definitely coming back next time!
Nous sommes venu à 19h puisqu'il était écrit que cela ouvrait à 18h & pourtant nous devions revenir 30min plus tard. Cela devrait être corrigé. Les pâtes au crevettes étaient correct mais un peu froide. Le griot & le poulet jerk étaient bon. Dans l'ensemble c'était bien mais pas wow.
10/10 would definitely recommend staff is attentive & sweet & food is immaculate !! For first time in Montreal I would definitely recommend :) the chef Shaq is an amazing cook everything is very well cooked & seasoned
When I got there no one said hello, they where just staring at me. J'ai du moi-même les approcher & leur dire que j'avais une réservation. Je m'assoie on ne me donne pas d'eau. L'ambiance à l'intérieur était sombre & le staff n'était pas professionnel. La gérante non plus. Pour le prix ça ne vaut pas la peine, car tu sors de là-bas & tu as faim. Pour terminer, on a demandé des mocktails & on a reçu de cocktail 🤦🏽?♀?🤦🏽?♀?🤦🏽?♀?🤦🏽?♀?🤦🏽?♀?🤦🏽?♀?🤦🏽?♀?. C'était la dernière fois que je mettais les pieds dans cet endroit. Je suis profondément déçu.

À 21h45 la manager est venue nous expliquer que la cuisine allait faire une pause de 15 min pour se réorganiser (alors que le restaurant n'était pas plein)
Elle revient une vingtaine de minute plus tard pour prendre nos commandes & une bonne parties des items dont du plantain frit par exemple n'étaient plus disponibles.
Quand on lui demande combien de temps ça va prendre elle nous dit 10 min
Nos plats sont arrivés à 22h47 & surprise un des plats commandés n'étaient pas disponible.
Bref manque d'organisation & de professionnalisme.
La musique est forte, les toilettes sont sales & on se paye votre tête 😊
