Abyss Resto-Pub Ludique is a welcoming hub for gamers with a huge space for tables and a strong library of board games, minis and hobby supplies, plus a restaurant and bar that keep things lively. The staff are consistently friendly, knowledgeable, and patient, helping newcomers pick games and explaining rules, which creates a warm community vibe. The selection is broad and well curated, with Warhammer, Magic the Gathering, and many titles, and regular events that keep nights engaging; the downstairs area adds ample space for larger sessions. Food and drinks are generally good value with a varied menu, though a few reviews note occasional hiccups or higher prices. Overall, it is a one stop destination for play, shopping, and socializing where enthusiasts can explore games, enjoy solid service, and spend a fun, social evening with friends.
Great store alot of great games there from board games to table top games & card games. Also have alot of hobby tools & paints. Also the pub to hang out & get some food & a drink.
The animator was vibrant. Explained multiple times in different ways. Showed patience even when it was obvious they were pressed for time (they had to move table to table to handle up to 4 tables by themselves).
Server needs to practice memorizing the menu, however they came back to explain regarding two similar drink options (appreciated). Had a softer approach & still showed confidence.
I had requested the animator sit with us to explain games instead of kneeling at the table for their comfort. Personally I find it more respectful. I prefer everyone is treated fairly.
The paladin grill cheese was decent. Tomato soup was too thick, too acidic. Didn't finish it. Chai latte was ok. Tried to finish it. Grilled cheese caramelized onions was good, poutine was boring but clean (like a sterile home made version). Chef salad was ok. Overall food is ok. The place was clean & spacious. I think there's a section where visitors can buy materials & games.
Games played: Gaia, Forbidden Island, Trial by Trolly, Pandemic

Good pub menu & drink selection, plenty of board games to play, well stocked with fantasy/sci fi & WW2 historical wargaming products. Has a dedicated gaming area downstairs for miniature wargames & card games. Staff is very friendly
Amazing day with the family here playing board games & buying modelsand paints. The staff were fantastic at helping with game selection & rules. They were great with our 1 year old. Good food & drink selection. Wished I could have brought my army & used the tables & terrian downstairs!!!
I swing by every once in a while to buy paints & Warhammer models. Never had any problems until today & I'm still disappointed by today's interaction. I picked up some paints & decided to stop by the restaurant. I order a virgin drink & a burger. The waitress brought me back an alcohol filled drink, then rushed back as I was drinking me to inform me that it had alcohol in it, she took it & swapped it out for a virgin drink. The food was brought to me, a burger & fries. The fries were fine, but the burger wasn't cooked all the way through & was cold. No wait staff had followed up with me about the food, so I walked up with my coat on ready to leave & I had to bring the food to them. When I told them & showed them, they offered to make another burger, but I was ready to leave. I got told by the wait staff that if there's a problem next time to'raise my hand' & they'd come fix it. No apologies. They charged me full price for the mixed up drink & undercooked, cold burger.
They have a very large assortment of games (FR + EN), & some food & drinks. The basement has lots of warhammer. Here I learned about this gigantic, 3D version of Catan. Lots of fun!
Great spot with lots of options for board games & prices are cheap compared to other places with similar themes as there is no entry fee instead you just need to order a drink or food the staff was great aswell

Arthur is the best server, ask for him. He's sweet & considerate of your enjoyment at Abyss. Food is yummy, reasonably priced & thanks to awesome staff there last night, we got phenomenally fast service despite them being low-staff. We were four, & some of my group noticed slight menu changes, as it was my first time I didn't mind. ***Also, important to note, they don't charge base or hourly fees*** Having only been to Randolph's before I was shocked at my bill at the end of the night (dessert, grilled cheese, three drinks & it was only 45 dollars before tax) There are a wide variety of games & they chose well based on our requirements. We started of with splendor, then unstable unicorns, then a card game of our reference. I saw plenty more that I didn't get to this time. 10/10 recommend ☺️
The food is delicious, they have a wide variety of drinks & games, the ambiance is really nice! If you want the Randolph pub experience that's more chill & a bit lesst expensive, Abyss is a great option 🤟🤟
This is a great game pub! Unlike some game pubs, it’s well lit so you can see what you’re playing. The sound is lively but not so loud that you can’t hear yourself think.
The food is good & varied & the drinks are well made.
The games store has a great selection of board games & miniature games with decent discounts. There’s a huge selection of paints.
J'avais réservé la salle D&D.Bonne ambiance/déco très médiévale/Fantasy. Grande table, nous étions 4 & il restait pas mal de place. Au moins pour 2 autres personnes.
La bouffe étai correcte. Bonne sélection de drinks.

I reserved the D&D room. It has a nice ambience/deco that feels medieval/fantasy. The table is large, One DM + 3 players & there was a lot of space left. For at least 2 other players.
The food was OK. Nice choices of drinks.

The large table in the private room is mostly meant for D&D events & not for traditional board games. However the food & drink service was great & the personnel was very helpful & friendly.
We travelled from Vancouver for an event at the store, & I was overwhelmed by the friendly welcome from the owner, staff, & other attendees here. Delicious poutine & lasagna sustained us during the day, & snacks & drinks in the evening capped off a fantastic day. The game & miniatures selection is superb. The basement terrain boards are the best I've seen in a game store - just amazing. What a treasure Montreal has in L'Abyss!
