786 HALAL RESTAURANT an ultimate Pakistani restaurant best for family and friends get together, parties & celebrations, business lunches, conferences, marketing & promotional launches, press conferences and many more.
786 Restaurant Halal receives mixed feedback but is frequently praised for warm hospitality, friendly service, and what many call the best naan in Montreal along with flavorful, fresh dishes and generous portions. Standout items mentioned include chicken biryani, lamb karahi, lahori chargha, haleem, and fried fish, with garlic naan and raita commonly noted as good accompaniments. The atmosphere is described as nice and suitable for families, with seating for toddlers and a prayer area that many find convenient. On the downside, several reviews point to inconsistency and occasional missteps in kitchen or service, such as butter chicken not meeting expectations, karahi not tasting right, kebabs that are undercooked, and charges for mango lassi that are not promptly resolved. Prices have risen a bit over time, and some visits experience longer wait times. Overall the restaurant is regarded as one of the better halal Pakistani options in the city for flavorful food and a welcoming staff, though experiences vary and some dishes can be hit or miss.
We ordered sweet lassi, chicken korma, & garlic naan. The sweet lassi was very good, as well as the naan. The korma was good, but was missing some spices. The restaurant is large & can accommodate a lot of people.
Tandoori Nan is very good, soft & big enough in size. Chicken tandoori tikka masala is very tasty. Mutton Quorma is average. Chicken tikka roll is very good.Recommended.
Nota bene: alcool formellement interdit. Fermé pour prières le vendredi de 13 à 14h. Autrement est ouvert 7/7 de 11 à 21h, fort pratique.
I've been eating at 786 for almost 20 years now, since their previous location on the second floor & it's one of my go-tos in Montreal. I'm suprised to read negative reviews because this place has always been consistent in my experience. My young son who only eats nan at desi restaurants, was so excited about their Chicken Chargha! =)
It's a shame. They use to be really good but it seems like their prices have increased so much. 3$ for a tiny naan on uber eats?! That's ridiculous. They have delicious chicken kebabs, chicken tikka masala however their butter chicken needs major improvement! This use to be one of my fav but now the prices are too ridiculous. Update: Food has gotten worse. We Uber food yesterday & the butter chicken was really not good. Rice was hard & sticky as well. Also when we got biriyani on their biriyani Thursday days, it seems like alot of plain rice is mixed with the actual biriyani. Very sad.

We went to this restaurant as an office outing, we ordered a bunch of different meals & all shared, & it was all excellent. We are thinking of going back for our before-holiday meal. I'm surprised by the negative reviews.
