I want to take some time & say thank you to Nia, Theodore, Joey & all the staff at 40 Westt. This year was my first year hosting a staff Christmas party for 18 people & Nia was absolutely amazing to work with. She's an amazing event coordinator at this establishment & really helped me pick the right menu for my party. Theodore, our head waiter for the night was absolutely amazing along with all the other waiting staff & management whom I had the pleasure to interact with during the evening. CUSTOMER SERVICE DESERVES NOT 5 STARS BUT 10! Food & drinks were served in a timely matter & the food from the Canapés all the way to the dessert was absolutely Delicious! I would highly recommend this place to anyone & I can't wait to come back for a simple dinner date with my husband & to host more parties here in the future! Honestly the food was amazing. Best steak I’ve had in awhile (although standards are pretty low since I tend to get my steak undercooked everywhere I go…). Service was kind of odd for the type of since the waiter bumped into me, spilled water on me, & forgot to bring out the drink menu until we asked for it. Service was also pretty slow but that didn’t bother me as much. They also described this dessert as being some sort of amazing-out-of-this-world experience but it turned out to be a rly mediocre lava cake lol. Noted, bougie lava cake = chocolate soufflé ✨ . Our drinks on the rocks tasted watered down even upon arrival with more ice than drink. Food was mundane at best, even the baked potato & whipped butter lacked any richness in taste. The medium rib steak that we ordered was medium on the inside but blackened on the outside like charcoal, & tasteless despite being sprinkled with spice & garlic as if they were added afterwards. The other dish was accompanied by a soggy heap of cooked bland spinach when according to the menu should have been served with home fries or a choice between garlic sautéed spinach or wild rice. What a disappointment!
The service was adequate.
We were a group of 25 people for a birthday party. The service was horroble, we had arrived at 8pm & we started eating at 11pm , it took so long to get the food & the drinks. This restaurant was highly recommended but for the price we paid the service & tbe food were horrible. I would never go back or recommend this restaurant to anyone.

...need I say more? After having resided in the New York City area for almost ten years, 40 W. brought me right back to the Big Apple. The restaurant is impressive & elegant, without being stuffy; the settings are immaculate, & the service is conducted in the utmost professionalism.
Naturally, as the old adage goes, you get what you pay for! Fast food, it ain't, but if your looking for a memorable Montreal-area dining experience, 40 W. makes for a memorable choice.
Just know that it's a pricey restaurant, however, you get what you pay for.
For a party of 12 adults, drinks & wine, tab was a reasonable 2,500.
(Everyone had at least two drinks/beer, & plenty of wine bottles)
Compared to downtown & the hassle, for a high class party, this is a great spot.
Food was excellent but not outstanding for this class of restaurant, & our waiter could have been more professional. No, we don't want the 250$ seafood sample platter for a group entrée, thank you.
Most likely a repeat for the company party, a nice change of pace to the fancy - too many of them - Italian restaurants in the West Island.
Thanks to my husband I have been to many many steak houses & this one is my favorite. I know it was owned by the same people who have Queue de Cheval however 40 Westt is a million times better.
No matter what kind of meat you order you know its going to be cooked to perfection & that its been aged perfectly (& of course I'd know, I'm TEXAS raised!).
The first time I ever went was with my boyfriend (now husband) & his family for my birthday. We ordered the hot & cold sea food platters & we were just astonished at how amazing everything was prepared & presented to us. As our main meal everyone ordered something different (steaks, seafood etc) & everything was perfection. Not one person had a complaint.
Oddly enough my husbands favorite thing off of their menu is the authentic greek salad which is served with the most amazing greek "barrel" feta which is the best feta to eat. (Yes, I do judge restraunts by their feta, if they use cheap feta they most likely use other cheap ingredients). We go there often for their food just because my husband wants the salad.
Often we'll start with a salad & a dozen raw oysters & then move on to steak & sea bass & its amazing. I've never had a complaint with the food & the service is top notch.
Before our drinks are even finished the waiter will ask if we'd like another or in my husbands case, a fresh one was brought without having to ask. Our waiter glasses were refilled very often & between meals the wait staff came to clean the table with a bread crumb gatherer. Everything there is incredibly impeccable & I highly recommend this place to anyone who is willing to spend a few hundred dollars for a meal.
40 Westt often gets compared to Morton's Steakhouse in the US however, I find no comparison. 40 Westt hands down!!
Although this place is very expensive, the quality of the food is excellent. We eat there every so often, & our bill always hovers around $300. (with drinks, of course). The steak is always excellent, & always cooked as I ask. The Seared Tuna was perfect, & all the various appetizers we have enjoyed have been spot on.
I highly recommend 40 Westt to anyone that loves a good steak (& can afford the prices).
