Review Summary

The Jean Talon Market is widely regarded as a vibrant and essential destination in Montreal, celebrated for its extensive variety of fresh, local produce, artisanal cheeses, and diverse culinary offerings. Many visitors highlight the lively atmosphere, friendly vendors, and the opportunity to support local farmers, making it a beloved spot for both grocery shopping and enjoying prepared meals like crêpes, seafood, and pastries. While the experience is generally praised for its quality and cultural richness, some feedback notes that prices can be high and that it can become quite crowded during peak times. Whether visiting during the abundant summer and autumn seasons or the quieter winter months, most agree that it remains a must-see landmark that captures the unique spirit of the city.

The markets great! So many places to eat & shop with plenty of variety between them all. The vegetables & plants all looked fresh. Was the perfect place to walk around a bit & get out of the rain. It's close to the metro stop too.

I visited for the first time & it was a great experience. One of the best markets in Montreal. Huge variety of fresh fruits, vegetables, cheeses, meats, & local products all in one place. You can walk around, try different foods, & really enjoy the experience. Prices are fair for the quality, & everything feels fresh.

Another great point is the convenience of parking. There is indoor parking available, which is very helpful, & also plenty of outdoor parking options nearby.

I also want to mention the security staff near the parking ticket payment area-extremely professional & helpful. He had a great attitude & assisted people clearly with the payment process, which made everything smoother.

Definitely a must-visit if you're in Montreal.

Beautiful market filled with fresh vegetables & fruits as well as some dining & take out options. We stopped on our way through Montreal & enjoyed some frozen fruit popsicles in unique flavours - perfect for a hot summer day as well as a variety of macaroons (so delicious!) Worth the stop for sure!

Really nice market with lots of fresh produce such as fruit, vegetables & seafood. Plenty of things to pick up as souvenirs which are actually produced in Canada.
