Rolled through Jean-Talon last Saturday morning & it reminded me why Montreal keeps pulling me back - the kind of market that makes the ones in other cities feel performative. The Québécois cheese vendors near the south entrance know their product cold, & the guy running the affineur stall walked me through three unpasteurized selections without any tourist-trap upselling. Crowds were thick by 10am but the layout breathes well enough that you never feel trapped, which is rare for a covered market this size. If you're bouncing between cities like I am, this is the benchmark.
I would say there are a not a lot exception that you can not find any other places. May be the place has lots of vibe of a open air market. However I did not find anything special there.
I visited for the first time & it was a great experience. One of the best markets in Montreal. Huge variety of fresh fruits, vegetables, cheeses, meats, & local products all in one place. You can walk around, try different foods, & really enjoy the experience. Prices are fair for the quality, & everything feels fresh.
Another great point is the convenience of parking. There is indoor parking available, which is very helpful, & also plenty of outdoor parking options nearby.
I also want to mention the security staff near the parking ticket payment area-extremely professional & helpful. He had a great attitude & assisted people clearly with the payment process, which made everything smoother.
Definitely a must-visit if you're in Montreal.
Fun market selling fresh fruits & veggies, vasts amount of maple syrups & maple syrups flavoured products... Had the chance to try fresh maple syrup on a stick frozen on a sheet of shaved ice/snow.
As an expat Montrealer, miss this amazing market. Variety & quality second to none.
Nice market. Good seafood stop, good coffee, nice pastries. Recommend to pick up fresh food
Free WiFi at the market does not seem to work on both a smartphone & desktop computer after multiple attempts.
One of Montreal's most famous sites! This market has so many different vendors selling everything from fresh produce to maple syrup, candy, ice cream, meats, & more. There are also lots of food stands with a plethora of different things to try. This market has an indoor, covered section & outdoor vendors, but the weather wasn't the greatest when we visited, so no outdoor stalls were present. Definitely a fun place to check out!
Amazing spice store, & very good Mexican restaurant here, & Moroccon market packed with amazing things, beautiful flowers & veggies.
Jean-Talon Market is a great place to visit in Montreal. There's a wide variety of unique, local products that really reflect the city's culture & flavors. The vendors are friendly & welcoming, which makes the experience even more enjoyable. It's a lively, authentic spot that's definitely worth exploring.
Super cute indoor farmers market in the heart of Montreal's little Italy! Lots of fresh produce, a variety of food stands as well as a selection of little restaurants.
Always worth a visit. Well stocked market at any time of the year, a must stop when visiting Montreal
Spent a morning at Jean Talon Market & it was great. There are so many fun stands with unique produce, & it's a really enjoyable place to wander around. We also loved the food trucks that were set up - definitely recommend Mazorca for tacos & margaritas!
Lovely market, lots of fresh food options. While larger than atwater, I think I actually prefer that one more than here. Something about the vibe at jean talon just felt slightly more touristy, like how there was a mile long maple syrup boutique, or a trendy gluten free crepe place . No shade to y'all, you are creating & contributing towards a local amazing spot which is awesome. I'm never gonna dislike any sort of farmers market, & overall I enjoy my time here
Sgt terbatas pilihan makanannya, so far ini market yg sgt kecil dan pilihan yg sgt terbatas...MGKN lbh cocok utk org local, utk belanja keperluan sehari hari yg umum2 aja....
