Excellente serveuse et de bonne humeur. La présentation de mon assiette (une sorte de bavette/steak) était peu inspirante. Frites moyennes. Ca ne ressemblait pas à des frites maison. Belle ambiance.
We visited from Hamilton, Ontario. We walked in the freezing cold and were so happy to stumble across this warm and cozy place. It was busy but very welcoming. We ordered the pepperoni pizza and it was probably one of the best I've ever had. Hot, delicious and made on the spot in plain view of the dining area. The crust was thin, crisp and perfect. If I lived in Montreal, this would be a regular go-to place. ⭐?⭐?⭐?⭐?⭐?

Me encanta la comida! Pedí el chiken massala (creo que asi se llama), mi amiga el chicken curry y otro amigo el sheep al curry. Todo estaba delicioso! Y el pan Naan muy suave y sabroso. Como entrada no puedes perderte la sopa de lentejas (lentils soup) y para acompanar unas ricas samoussas, el relleno y la salsa dulce para acompanarlas estaban sabrosísimos👌🏼😋. Vayan que les va a gustar. El sazón se parece a la comida mexicana.
Had a great Lunch with my brother and good friend. We we're greeted at the door immediately, with a smile. Waitress came to our table pretty quickly. Once the food cam the silence also began as we ate without talking to each other until we were done... Excellent smoked meat of course. Can't wait to get back and try some other items on the menu.

We were a very large party, roughly 15 people with kids. Two servers for our group they did really good up until food was finished. All the kids had desserts but nothing was ordered. It took a very long time even when trying to flag him down. Other than that the service and food was excellent

Nous sommes allés à ce restaurant pour l'anniversaire d'une amie. Le service est bon et l'ambiance est agréable. Au départ j'étais perplexe des choix offerts pour la carte des vins. Je n'ai aucunement voulu être désagréable, je connais bien les vins alors j'ai posé quelques questions. J'aurais pas dû car le serveur a été arrogant avec moi tout le restant de la soirée et je ne suis pas la seule à l'avoir remarqué. En somme, c'est quand même un bel endroit à essayer quand on est de passage au Vieux-Port. Cependant, connaissant beaucoup de bons restaurants à Montréal, je ne vais pas y retourner.
Busy long time french eatery. Excellent food and service. Honestly one of the best meals I've had in Montreal. Truly Excellent.

Shame on me! I went back to get my face slapped again. It used to be a decent place for a chicken meal. Now, they are running, their once good name, into the ground. I hope I can post pictures. I stopped ordering here because of all the errors and missing products but someone had posted a review about the tenders, and was really impressed. So, I stupidly decided to give Au Coq another chance. I got the tenders but they were far from tender, they were rock hard and completely burnt (cremated). I was gobsmacked that someone could put those tenders into a box and send them out to a customer, they obviously don't care at all. Then they don't send the two sauces. How did they expect me to get the charcoal down without lube? They actually charge 1.50$ per sauce so they effectively stole 3$ from me on top of the crappy food. I am leaving this abusive relationship once and for all.
Repas pas très bon pizza très mince et pas de garniture depuit qu'il a été vendu les nouveau propriétaire donne moin de qualité vs le prix. Je suis déçu car j'ai été plusieur fois la bas pendans plusieurs anne mes la a par leur dessert mes ce pas eux qui les font leur nourriture étais pas wow faudrai amilliore cetre aspects sinon ce propre et quand même accueillant l'endroit.

When asking people what the best burger in Montreal is, you're likely to get a bunch of more modern and trendy burger places and a lot of those restaurants do have amazing burgers but Mr. Steer has the single best one: The Hero. I've never tasted a meat patty so good that you could have it by itself and still be satisfied. It's super thick and always cooked to perfection. EVERY BITE is heaven. The'suzie Q' fries you get alongside it are amazing as well. If you're also gonna get a poutine, their'Tex-Mex' is one of the best I've ever had. The only bad thing I have to say is that the price is too much. 22$ for a poutine is unacceptable. I'd be in trouble if I lived near this place... 10/10

Bonjour, je suis allé au restaurant aujourd'hui, le 5 février, il y a environ une heure. En entrant, personne n'était là pour me servir, mais j'ai attendu. Une jeune femme mince est sortie, m'a regardé et m'a souri d'un air forcé. Je lui ai demandé ce que je voulais manger.Quand j'ai payé avec un billet, il m'a rendu la monnaie avec un tel dégoût qu'il n'a même pas touché ma main, apparemment à cause de mon visage latino, mais quand une autre personne est arrivée, la différence était flagrante : elle était beaucoup plus aimable, etc. Quand je suis sortie chercher ma commande, Soloe a pratiquement renversé la boîte, comme pour me dire : « Tiens, prends ça et fiche le camp ! » C'est terrible d'être quelqu'un qui n'aime pas sortir de chez soi et d'être traitée de la sorte.Ce n'est pas parce que je ne porte pas de vêtements de marque ou que je ne conduis pas une belle voiture que je dois y remettre les pieds. À moins d'avoir l'air riche, on vous traitera comme tel, voire pire. Je maudis le jour où j'ai décidé d'y aller aujourd'hui.
Great place for this type of fare. No-nonsense good diner food, fairly priced. Many options, breakfasts too. I used to live in the neighbourhood; now when I pass through the neighbourhood I always stop-in for a couple of steamies when I can - best'choux' slaw ever! Recommend.
I love this place as a cafe strictly. The food is, as most people have mentioned in reviews, lackluster. Good chocolate cardamom cake, but I probably wouldn't have supper here again. You really want to stay for the atmosphere, but the service is always terrible. After returning multiple times, it seems the staff begins to ignore you after coming by once, and will not clear your table until you leave...dirty plates with bones were left on our table after we were done eating and were not cleared for 30+ minutes even though we wanted to stay for tea afterwards. Consistently poor service and rude waitstaff, unfortunately.
Love them! The subs are great and so is the pizza! Ask for diced tomatoes, so worth it!( no cost extra, just really yummy!)

Best chicken on earth plain and simple! So juicy and tender. The skin is to die for, tastes like charcoal hardcore. The fries are the best fries I've ever ate, the sauce and coleslaw too! I've been going to chalet bbq since I'm a young child, always stayed the same. The atmosphere is old and rustic, it has its charm, the waitresses are so nice.The ultimate comfort food! If you guys ever wanna sell the restaurant or franchise it I'm in 100%!
Very bad service. I've been here a few times and it's always off. I won't be coming back. This time it was very busy but we somehow managed to get forgotten about. After 30 min and trying to unsuccessfully make eye contact with wait staff, I finally raised it at the cash and all food (appetizers and mains) came within 2 mins. No acknowledgement. Food was mediocre. Majority was cold.
