Super belle cantine a patate frite. Le genre qu'on devrait faire essayer a un touriste étranger. Petit local tout serré, service extrêmement rapide & courtois, & quelques tables. Typique.
La poutine est parfaite, les frites la sauce brune est juste assez epaisse, une bonne quantité de fromage, tout est comme on si attend.
Une institution à Magog. Les meilleures frites du coin, tout est bon. Allez-y & soyez généreux sur le pourboire!
Two stars overall, not because the food was that bad (though the poutine was average, & not as good as Louis in Sherbrooke; the chicken was substandard meat) but because the price was so high: 27 dollars including tax for a large poutine with chicken & peas, which my wife & I shared...more expensive than Louis & not as good. Also, my wife was a couple of cents short for a can of Pepsi, & the staff didn`t let her have a can, which I thought was mean-spirited. We won`t be returning here. Maybe we just caught these guys on a bad day, but really, you can find better & more affordable poutine in Quebec.

Coming from overseas, I had never tried poutine before, so traveling to Québec made it only a matter of time. While driving through the Cantons-de-l'Est, I stayed one night in Magog & discovered this small roadside spot, Cantine Chez Paul, filled with local customers - always a great sign.
I decided to try the smoked meat poutine & wow, I was not disappointed! Absolutely delicious. The friendly service & the sweet elderly cooks made the experience even more authentic & memorable. A true Québec gem off the beaten path.

Ordered the smoked meat poutine (medium) combo which comes with a drink. Smoked meat was absolutely amazing & so was the poutine. Hearty portions, plenty of meat & cheese. Was well worth the stop! Will actually try & visit again while we are in town.
The definition of a Quebec institution. One of the most authentic poutines, & amazing Steamies, you can get. The interior hasn't changed in decades. Friendly andnfjn service.
Cantine classique comme on les aime ! Ambiance normale, sans prétention, mais un service vraiment chaleureux qui fait la différence.

Un lieu emblématique à Magog, au coeur de la communauté, où on retourne toujours avec plaisir.
Première fois j'ai pris sandwich au smoke meat & frite salade de choux & cornichon délicieux
A tiny little cantine (aptly named) on the Main Street in Magog. Not sure why it is so highly reviewed. Food is basic & underwhelming although portions are huge (if you are into stuffing your face with poutine). We ordered a smoked meat sandwich with fries & a hot dog. Again, nothing to write home about. I guess it is worth a visit because it is such a landmark in Magog with the tourists lined up around the corner (it caught our attention). Prices are quite cheap. It is very small with only a few tables, so take out might be more recommended. Note: they don't take credit cards so bring cash or debit.
Nous avons beaucoup aimé cet endroit. Nous y allons quand nous passons par là. Nous aimons beaucoup leur manière de servir les gens & la bouffe est bonne.
