My wife & I embarked on a delightful outing to downtown Montreal with the sole purpose of meeting up with our daughter. We planned to indulge in a quick & satisfying meal, a task that posed some challenges due to our limited time constraints. After a brief discussion, we unanimously agreed that burgers were the optimal choice for our on-the-go lunch. Naturally, the thought of McDonald's was dismissed given its bustling lunchtime crowd. At the same time, opting for a high-end burger establishment seemed impractical as it would undoubtedly consume more time than we could afford.
Thankfully, our daughter came to the rescue with a fantastic recommendation: Yumi Burger, conveniently situated at 1448 Rue Mackay in the heart of Montreal. What made this burger joint particularly intriguing was its specialization in smash burgers. What's more, it was situated in an area that held nostalgic significance for me, as it was near my old stomping grounds around Concordia University. Upon entering the restaurant, I was instantly struck by the youthful ambiance reminiscent of a college crowd. Surprisingly, this atmosphere didn't bother me in the least; in fact, it added a unique charm to the dining experience.

Each comprised a single patty adorned with fresh lettuce, succulent caramelized onions, delectably sautéed mushrooms, & the pièce de resistance: the secret Yumi sauce. Despite my initial skepticism, I was genuinely delighted by the taste of my burger. The flavors harmonized beautifully, resulting in a culinary delight that exceeded my expectations. The accompanying crispy fries proved to be a delightful complement to the main course, elevating the overall dining experience to new heights.

The staff were pleasant, & patient! My daughter had the Yumi with cheese & mine was without! The smash was perfect! Being her first real'smash burger'- she is hooked & her standards are set high! The crispy edge was exactly 💯 what you want! The burgers come standard with lettuce, tomatoes & their own'Yumi' sauce- which we both kept as is! Great choice! Just a tiny kick that pairs well with the fresh lettuce & tomatoes on the freshest bun to soak everything up! The fries were lightly seasoned & crisp!
We sat on the roadside patio- it was shaded by the buildings- & breezy. They offer inside seating as well, however we did not really look into it!
The beef patties were delicious, but their special sauce wasn't really my cup of tea - it tasted a bit too sweet for me. Overall, it's a nice burger place for lunch or dinner.

Yumi Burger, c'est clairement une belle découverte ! Le concept est original, les recettes sont créatives & pleines de saveurs. Chaque burger a sa petite touche unique, & on sent que tout est fait avec soin, des buns moelleux aux sauces maison
Really wanted to like this place. Was hoping that it could fill my Shake Shack void, alas it was not meant to be. The burger patty was fairly flavourful with a good amount of seasoning but it was way too oily. The grease kept on coming & made the bread pretty soggy. The edges on the patty were not crispy at all. The cheese fries was also a let down. The fries themselves were not bad but the cheese sauce was really off, tasted kind of powdery. Would recommend avoiding this & just getting the regular fries.
strolling around the area looking for Halal option & noticed this gem Got the Yumi double, poutine + extra yumi sauce The bun was soft & complemented the beef patty & poutine was already great. Please open a branch in Toronto !

I don't think it's wow. The sauce with mushrooms was very sweet, & the meat used for the burger was tasteless.... I think most of the 5 stars reviews are paid . This is a one-time visit & won't repeat it. I'm giving it 3 stars because of the location & nice employees . That's it .
Pros: the burgers are so soft & tasty, I would eat so many in one sitting if I could, the texture is so comforting & the ingredients add a nice freshness. Quality dipping sauces with unique crinkle fries, & there is an option to sit on the patio in the summertime. Cons: we were surprised to see that the combos came with a very small fry, like enough to fit in one hand. For the price we expected a bigger fry portion. Also after eating our burgers we were still hungry after. The meal wasn't too filling & left us wanting more. Great food nonetheless, it's just a matter of portion size
Yumi burger is YUMMY! Nicely seasoned burgers, soft delicious buns, super crispy fries & rings. Delish sauces to accompany. What's not to love? I'm from LA, this tops burgers I've had there. This is a great option for fast food in a crowded touristy area.

Simplement délicieux, frites ondulées croquantes à la perfection aussi bon dans la poutine, poutine super bien dosée autant fromage que sauce, hamburger bien garnie & saucy ! 🤩 une gâterie qui ne te fais pas te sentir mal 🙃 ça vaut l'arrêt !
I was excited to see a burger cooked the way I like it. I thought it was illegual in Québec. So, love the burger, the yumi sauce is really simple but it does the job. The real problem is the fries. They taste & look exactly like McCain's frozen fries. Not what I was expecting from a burger place. Anyhow, if you're like me, you'll come back for the not overcooked burger & disregard the subpar fries. Enjoy!
Magnifique ! Des Burgers de folies, le pain la viande le cheese, ça passe tout seul c'est un scandale ahahah. Frites croustillantes, vrai sauce, poulet avec du goût, ça fait plaisir fort. Yumi au top, ça faisait longtemps que je cherchais une place comme ça pour des vrais cheatmeals ! Photo jointes du 1er round, j'ai dû recommander obligatoirement ahahah Awesome Burger, the buns, the steak, crazy good. Crispy fries, juicy chicken, will come back anytime for a great cheatmeal.
