We went on the second Sunday of June 2025.
The service was good.
The place was less than half full the whole evening, which was cozy, but it lacked a bit of ambience. The decor is nice, but some of the seats face the walls, which makes it less interesting.
The food was good, maybe even very good, but not exceptional.
Their menus are probably a bit outdated... The Makis were 8 pieces in the menu but the warm Makis came in just 6 pieces.
The sake was very good too.
Overall a good experience even if a bit overpriced.View more

After a year since its big, lavish opening party, we were excited to finally check it out for ourselves. However, what we found left us a bit confused.
We started with a couple of sushi rolls, which were decent but didn't justify their high price tag. The octopus was well-cooked, with admittedly creative flavors, yet it still fell a little flat.
The standout item for us was the mini wagyu burger, which had a taste & quality that surpassed everything else we sampled. We joked that they should consider opening a burger joint (seriously, do it; I'd come to that).
They also offer a variety of additional items like dumplings, fried rice, & various entrées & meats.
The lively atmosphere, complete with a DJ & leopard-print banquettes, gave off a vibe more suited for a nightlife spot than a restaurant focused on quality cuisine.
The decor featured some nice Japanese-inspired touches, like a bonsai tree, but the combination of higher-class restaurant pricing, an underwhelming & scattered menu, & a nightlife vibe made the whole thing feel misaligned. Even their website emphasizes a visual experience over taste, & unfortunately, that was reflected in our visit. It seems they are more focused on the experience than delivering exceptional food, which is a critical miss for a restaurant of this caliber in that area.
While we still enjoyed our time on some level, & the service was very quick & friendly, we feel they need to find a clearer direction in both their offerings & priorities.View more

Super belle place! Excellent service par Sasha🔥 (si je me rappelle bien de son nom) très souriante, douce, patiente, à l'écoute. Rien à dire de négatif sur le service, c'était parfait. L'ambiance est wow & le décor 😍😍 parfait pour des photos. Le seul élément décevant est la nourriture. Ils doivent upgrade dans les saveurs ou faire des changements dans leurs menus également pour les cocktails. Nous étions une groupe de filles & personnes dans notre groupe n'étaient complètement satisfait de la nourriture.View more

Amazing experience overall. Everything was fresh & delicious. Atmosphere & decor were immaculate. However, I must highlight the service. The entire staff was attentive, welcoming, & fun - which I find quite rare in the city unfortunately. We had the absolute pleasure of having Sarah at our table who was truly the best. Superbe soirée! Tout était absolument parfait; l ambiance, le décor, la nourriture, le service, etc... Je crois avoir découvert mon nouveau resto favori. Tout les plats étaient savoureux, frais & bien présentés. La salade de mangue était bien acidulée, pieuvre tendre, filet mignon cuit à la perfection, brochettes assaisonnées, gâteau au fromage décadent . Mention spéciale pour les nouilles au homard, un pur délice. Je tiens également à souligner l excellent service de Arielle, une vraie perle! My wife & I spent 4 days visiting Montreal for the holidays, & this was out favorite restaurant. YUBARI (found inside a hotel) is a Japanese restaurant with a wonderful wood-slat decor, dim ambiance, & beautiful bar. The seats were comfortable, the music was unintrusive, & the hosts collected our Jackets which was really nice on a cold/snowy day. We ordered the wagyu mini burger, two sushi rolls, fried rice, & two desserts. The true star was the sushi as the Maori Tai & Yubari signature were both outstanding. The flavors, textures, & even the foods temperature were all perfect. Regarding service, our server was very friendly & gave great recommendations. He had his hands full with some larger tables but still made sure to check in. The food times were a bit long, but nothing crazy. Our favorite person there was absolutely Anita. She probably poured us a gallon of water, & had fun doing it! what a vibrant & lovely person. We really enjoyed chatting with her & she really changed our experience from a fabulous meal to a fantastic outing. overall, if your in this part of Montreal, id say this is a no brainer! Stop by for some great food, quiet luxurious atmosphere, attentive service, & a good time. Be warned however, it is not cheap! If you come hungry its easy to spend 100+$ a person, so if budget is a problem, save it for a special Occassion it'll be worth the wait.View more

Amazing vibe!! Modern take on 70's retro style, super comfortable seating, elegant & fancy decor starting with the entry ! Went with my sister , perfect spot to catch up with friends or just have an intimate dinner with a loved one. The staff were very friendly & professional, always asking about allergies & any special request. As the waiter would bring you the food to the table, they would present to you your order with detailed ingredients. We started with truffle sauces grilled edamame with peach spritz & peach margarita. We then ordered Yubari signature maki, with Yugen, Kinsugi & Ora King salmon sashimi. The food here is incredible the fish is so fresh & the plating is stunning so beautiful & tasty. I would recommend the sashimi bowls & that beef tataki! The decor & ambiance is also so amazing & viby great photo opportunities. Also the waiter Brian is so fantastic at what he does he's really a gem. & Karine the general manager is the sweetest & cares about the client's needs. I visited Yubari for a lunch & it was sublime! First, the food is creative, tasty, crunchy & they're obviously using high quality ingredients. We had maki, dumplings, fried crab rice & chicken karage & all were excellent. & don't get me started on the incredible desserts. The service is incredibly attentive, quick & kind. I got the chance to speak to some of the staff & they know a lot about the food & are very pleasant. The best part is the setting & decor which transports you to a fancy Tokyo eatery with its velvet seats & wooden motifs. There's nothing like this is Montreal so save yourself the trip to Japan & go enjoy Yubari.

I was very pleased when I first walked in. The decor & atmosphere were fantastic. This is in parallel with the food. The sashimi platter was so fresh. The raw fish melted in your mouth like butter. The drinks were unique & the presentation was sublime. I loved the touch of a live DJ. The hostess & the waiters were cordial & efficient. We felt very welcomed.
