Hidden gem in the hood.................We made a dinner gathering for Greek Language & Cultural class with our loving teacher Eleni Ladopoulos on a Monday evening & below is how I felt.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at yiaSu a charming Greek restaurant, & let me tell you, it was a delightful experience! As soon as I stepped through the door, the warm ambiance made me feel right at home. The rich aroma of herbs & spices filled the air, instantly whetting my appetite.
For starters, I couldn't resist the classic tzatziki & warm pita bread. The tzatziki was creamy with just the right amount of garlic with 4 different flavours & the pita was perfectly soft & fluffy. I could have eaten it all day!
For my main course, I decided to try the NYC Steak. It was 10 Once meat loaf medium grilled with smooth smoky sauce. Each bite was like a comforting hug, & the flavors were so well balanced. I also had a side of Greek salad, which was fresh & vibrant with crunchy cucumbers, sweet tomatoes, salty feta, & just the right amount of olives.
The service was warm & friendly, making me feel like part of the family. Overall, it was a wonderful meal that left me smiling. If you're looking for a taste of Greece in a cozy setting, this place is definitely worth a visit!
Unfortunately the food was not that great compared to all the reviews here. We ordered the Steak & Fries. It says it's 28 Days aged steak but this felt like frozen steak that was re cooked. Food was cold & dry. Also ordered the fish fillet from the kids menu. That wasn't too bad. But also felt like frozen food quickly reheated/thrown in deep free to make it crispy. Fries was thick cut style, also okay. Service was great, people were great. Just the food wasn't a 4.5 star rating restaurant.
The greek salad was excellent, as was the steak fritte. If you want moussaka that absolutely melts in your mouth... this is the place for you. & what a cool vibe on the patio on such an interesting & culturally diverse street. Love it!
Had the steak & frites, it was cooked to perfection & it was brought to my table at a reasonable delay. I will come back to try more traditional Greek food
Well I had the Steak Fries, which is advertised as a nice sized portion of Steak & I was asked how I liked it cooked, I requested med rare please. When I got the Steak it was so thin that there was only two ways to cook it, well done or blue rare! I must say it was well seasoned & tasty & overall the size as advertised, but way too thin. The fries were way over cooked & that is all you get on the plate for $36, not even a garnish.
Been here for years & generally the food is consistent. The decor is getting old & dated & needs to be refreshed. Pricing is a little high. Portions are ok but not great. Very good souvlaki, lentil soup, baklava, Greek salad, chicken skewer, their frozen fries are actually decent too, tzatziki very good, teramoslata good, steak & fries decent but not a steak place so.... Lamb stock great. Porc souvlaki great. Poor - calamari. Overly greasy, not very well seasoned, & the oil did not smell good at all & had to return it.

I highly recommend this place, they sure do know how to cook any kinds of meat & it's absolutely delicious, I had authentic gyro plater, simply delicious. however it was a little bit salty & oily for my taste maybe steak is a better choice
Excellent & friendly service with authentic Greek food in an enjoyable setting. Had a work party in the back, perfect space to enjoy each other's company. Salad was terrific, steak was outstanding. Will 100% return.
Great service from our waitress Maria!! Efforts did not go unnoticed! Fried calamaris were cooked to perfection & I appreciate that they were not overly battered or oily like other places where I had experienced this. Portions are still good They are usually very tentative with the doneness of the meat, today however, was an exception I am sure I will add a star upon my return visit, To the public: still a decent restaurant for greek food !! Recommendation: Bathroom on the mainfloor would be fantastic! In particular to accommodate physical needs. 1yr ago: The lamb platter is still on point!! Fired zucchini chips are still the best ones in town. Gotta love the potatoes here. Cant wait to come back for their steak. & for more lamb! The gyro is just okay. Service is amazing as always here. Special thanks to Maria & Jason for serving us great staff 👍 Are there plans for a bathroom to be installed on the main floor to make it more accommodating for people with disabilities? If possible that would be neat
Came here on Sunday with my wife & 3 kids & I've got to say that unlike many other restaurants, they were very accommodating & kid friendly. We started of with their small pikilia, don't let the name fool you because small is pretty BIG lol with lots of grilled pitas. Everything was fresh & delicious & I can honestly say they have the best tzatziki in the city. My kids had a chicken stick platter, a fish n chips platter & my youngest had their homemade nuggets & they all loved everything; rarely do they finish all their food in restaurants. My wife had their chefs special that day which was roasted lamb with greek potatoes & a greek salad & I opted for their steak & fries special which at 17,99$ was an absolute steal for the portion & the quality of meat. My wife's lamb was also delicious & throughout the service was impeccable & very attentive. I think they must work "pot" because several servers served us & they all seemed genuinely happy & enjoyed what they were doing. Definitely highly recommended will be going back soon.
Nice place, but I don't like paying for atmosphere. The blond waitress was just going through the motions. So cold.
My wife ordered a chicken stick , which was quite scarce, loads of rice & frozen fries. I ordered a Rib steak which was ok, loads of rice & two yes two pieces of potato. My friend's wife ordered doner plate, when it came, I literally said where's the meat. But again loads of rice & frozen French fries. My friend ordered a pork souvlaki that he didn't even finish. To top it off we ordered draft beers, not knowing they came in two sizes, the blond waitress brought us twenty ouncers. She never even told us there was a smaller size. The Greek salad was served as an appetizer, was ok. Never again!
