Great vibe, nicest staff, delicious food! First time today at this amaaaaaazing deli & definitely 5 stars 🌟
Matthew is the absolute best & the owner & other team members are awesome as well!
Picked up 6 huge challah rolls, a container of chicken salad, & a container of eggplant with mixed veggies. Everything was so fresh & absolutely delicious 😋
They've only been open for several months & I wish them an abundance of success!
Muchas gracias guyz! ❤?
Hat's off to these guys. They know what they are doing. Great vibe here. Business lunch for 2. Incredible! We ordered:
2x Matzoh Ball Soup with Kreplach.
2x Club Sandwiches
2x Diet Cokes
= $65
Looking forward to trying some deli next time. I cannot wait for my next visit!
Exceptional first brunch experience at Yans Deli today. The portions were extremely generous for the price & the attention to detail was evident in everything from the food, ambiance, & cheeky Lego flowers on every table, to the way in which our leftovers were packed meticulously at the end of our meal.
A very special thank you to our server Mike, who was incredibly attentive even though it was the Saturday lunch rush.
Congrats to the entire Yans Deli team! They've created something truly special. :)
Yesterday was one of those rainy Mondays, the kind that makes driving from place to place for work feel even heavier. It was also one of those days when I was missing my mom deeply. She passed away this summer, & rainy days like that used to be the ones where she'd call me in the middle of the day to say,'I made matzo ball soup for you, come pick it up on your way home.'
While driving, I thought maybe I'd stop somewhere for soup. Not just because I wanted something warm, but because I was craving that comforting feeling of being cared for, something that reminded me of her. I went Yan's Deli, & although the door was unlocked & I walked in, they were actually closed.
Benji greeted me kindly & apologized, saying they were closed. I told him I had really been hoping for some soup. He paused, looked at me, & said,'I could probably do that for takeout if that's OK.'
So on a day when it was pouring rain, & the restaurant was closed, this man stopped what he was doing, went into the kitchen, & made me soup.
While I waited, I held back tears because his kindness & generosity were exactly what I needed in that moment. It felt like a small act of love from a stranger, & somehow, a little piece of my mom's warmth shining through.
When he handed me the bag & said,'It really is soup weather,' I smiled & thanked him. Sitting in my car, eating what was probably the best soup I've had in a long time, I cried missing my mom, but so grateful for the compassion of someone who didn't even know me.
It might sound cliché to say that this place & this soup will hold a special place in my heart, but they truly will.
Thank you, Benji, for reminding me that kindness still exists in the simplest moments. I can't wait to come back.
We had an amazing lunch. They were very accommodating for gluten free food as I am celiac. Also very child friendly. The service was the most sincere & kind I've had in a long time. Go!
It's been a long time since I've been this disappointed in a restaurant. The servers couldn't take our order in French, they forgot it completely, & we waited over an hour to finally get the wrong dishes. I never received the bone broth, & instead of the mini Kartoffelpuffer I asked for, I was served the large one.
Worst of all, I saw a server reuse a dirty straw from the dishwasher area to serve a milkshake. They tried to make up for it with a cookie & a shot of juice, which was kind, but nowhere near enough. The food itself was good, but the overall experience was unacceptable.
Super service, amazing food. Je recommande fortement, l'assiette pastrami & le beef brisquet sandwich étaient sublimes.
Visited Yan's Deli today & had their chef's special menu as suggested by our very friendly & attentive server Jenni.
The burger was amazing. Served in challah bun with an egg on top of the patty was one of the best I've had in Montreal.
The cheesy tomato soup hit the spot. It was hot, fresh, right amount of cheese on top & hearty. Finished my meal with a decadent, fluffy blueberry French toast. Everything was excellent. The space felt warm & welcoming. A great spot for elevated comfort food in Montreal. Highly recommended.
Pros: Delicious & well priced food paired with great service. Parking available.
Cons: Navigating traffic in Decari
The interior is well designed, & very bright.
We ordered the brisket & the BLT sandwich, a side of smoked salmon, orange juice & tea.
I think their service needs a bit of work. I got my BLT which didn't look like a BLT. We asked the waitress if that's a BLT ( while the sandwich was opened to see the ingredients). She brushed us off & said yes. We insisted that is your BLT without lettuce & tomato?
She said wait & came back after a couple of minutes & took it away, with no explanation of what's happening. Then after a while she brought out the new BLT, which was a completely different sandwich. Again, no explanation & no apology for the mix up!
Love the tea they use (creamy earl grey), it's my fave tea & the orange juice was super fresh. We also really liked the smoked salmon.
The beef bacon in the BLT was too sweet for my liking.
