We had attempted to get here during our last trip to Montreal, & just wow, it was so worth the wait. What an amazing institution in Montreal. The family working there are just incredibly friendly & accommodating & welcoming. We had no clue what we were doing, & they simply usher you through the process like you are a member of their family. Although we were originally not going to be able to sit a the counter, they encouraged us to use one of the stands or even the chest freezer if necessary (fortunately the stool bar opened up). We each had a classic & the Chocolate Egg Cream to drink...& simply could not have had a better lunch. The price is just stupidly inexpensive, but apparently where they think it should be because it is a constant stream of regulars & newbies like us. So happy we were able to get there this time...loved every bit of the experience; this will definitely be a regular place to visit when coming to Montreal. Incredible - & if you haven't been...you simply must go!

Petit resto rétro des années 30 ou on peut manger leurs fameux spécial wilensky ballonné pains kaisert fromage suisse moutarde & aussi hot dog saucisses pur boeuf pain a l'oignon fromage moutarde & des cola a l'ancienne service courtois & rapide une dizaine de places a l'intérieur je recommande il faut l'essayer au moins une fois

C'est simple mais efficace, leurs sandwichs ne sont pas très gros mais ils sont très bons & finalement c'est suffisant avec un soda maison, c'est parfait pour un en-cas le midi & du coup le prix est raisonnable !La boutique a du charme & l'accueil est sympathique !

I was only a kid when I started eating those special, Mr Wilensky was a customer at my dad's drycleaner. All along my life, everytime someone new would come along, I would introduce them to the special, at Wilensky. Time as passed, & I no longer live in Montreal, but sure enough, if I'm around, I go & treat myself. Thanks to the owner's & employees to have kept it, like I remember it. ❤️ I live in Ottawa region now, but everytime

Nice comfort food. Would not recommend the vanilla egg cream soda though. The sour pickles were really also good!

While I appreciate the historical significance behind this eatery & their variety of sodas & even to a certain extent their sandwiches, I felt unwelcome as a new customer the two times I went. This restaurant caters well mostly for regulars, who know exactly what they want to order, but visitors like us need a moment to understand the choices & I feel like I didn't get that chance.

Montreal institution. As a person who can't eat pork, it's just nice to go in & be able to order everything. Got the Wilensky special & a hot dog with cheddar on an onion bun. Perfection.

I wish we had more places like this. Just specializing in something specific & keeping it true to its heritage. No frills. Delicious.

You can't walk past this place twice without stopping in for a soda & then let the nice people behind the counter convince you that you need to order a sandwich & a pickle. Very simple place with stools & standing room. Super friendly staff. Delicious sandwich & very tasty beverages.
