Don't miss out to try this Indian place, food is really good. I am listing the items we tried along with tiny recommendations for the chef :)
1. Vada pav- I would rate this slightly above average, Bhandari wins for vada pav for me. The star ingredient of vada pav is fresh curry leaves, please add them & you will see the magical transformation in your recipe.
2. Raj Kachori- Must try!! I haven't experienced the Indian taste of Raj Kachori in Montreal in years but chef has nailed Raj Kachori. It had moong, anaar, perfect balance of green chutney, red chutney & curd. Red chutney is a game changer!!
3. Amritsari Kulcha - The preparation is really good, cripy & garlicy, I would like more channa & more flavour in potato filling. A home made seasoning with spices in filling will elevate this dish to another level.
4. Moong dal halwa- Must Try!! Best in Montreal!!
We will be visiting again to try more dishes!!View more
I am very happy to have found this restaurant so close to home! I have tried numerous Indian restaurants in the past few years & most have disappointed with bland & similar taste - lacking originality & probably using low quality, pre-made spice mixes (I say this because I have also tried to cook with those spices & noticed the similarity). WeDesi is a whole new experience! While I used to prefer non-vegetarian Indian food, I have now come to love the vegetarian dishes offered here & feel like I'm on a culinary journey every time I eat at this restaurant. I have tried numerous dishes & my absolute favorite are their curries! Every single one I've tried is well-balanced & bursting with original flavors! My best choices are the Palak Paneer & Dal Tadka. The Chole Bhature is also fantastic & tastes very fresh! Rasam was a fiery, flavorful & most unique experience, having never eaten that before & it had an instant positive effect on my whole body, one has to try to understand! Naan bread is very tasty & balanced. Paranthas are all delicious & each type offers unique flavors! My whole family, including kids, are crazy about this food. We are not Indian & for a 9 year old to eat so much of this new, spicy food & to ask for more, it means that it's really good! The sweets are out of this world! They use real ingredients & make them right! I have also tried other Indian sweets shops & really prefer the freshness & original flavors of the WeDesi ones! They do not skimp on quality. For example, I was eating Gulab Jamun & inside there were specks of real saffron. The first time I tried them, I asked for the young man's recommendation & he chose many delicious & different sweets that everyone enjoyed, even my mom who is conservative & not a fan of foreign cuisine! Inside the restaurant, the decor is modern, clean & authentic! Staff is friendly & attentionate. Sometimes they are very busy & wait times are long, but I don't mind, given the quality of the food. Everyone wants to eat there & it's understandable! Once there was an error & it was most generously corrected, apologies were offered. My only real complaint is that the prices are not updated on the website menu, which was a bit confusing at first & might deter new clients. All in all, I can honestly say that this is one of my top 3 restaurants to eat at. Congrats to the chef & to all the people working there!View more
WeDesi is a haven for vegetarian food lovers, offering an authentic taste of Indian cuisine. The menu boasts a wide range of flavourful dishes, from creamy paneer butter masala to the ever-popular dal makhani, all made with fresh ingredients & aromatic spices. The soft & buttery naan pair perfectly with rich curries, & their mixed vegetable biryani is a standout. The warm ambiance & attentive service complete the experience, making it a must-visit for anyone seeking delicious Indian dishes.View more

Food was okay. Service wasn't good. The server never checked on us after putting the dishes on the table. I accidentally dropped the fork on the floor in front of server, but the server ignored it & didn't offer me a fresh fork.View more
We entrusted Sangam & Lakhvir with catering our wedding reception at Maison Principale, & it was one of the best decisions we made during the planning process. We wanted a creative menu with some Indo-Quebec inspired dishes & were very particular about presentation, & they made it all happen flawlessly! Their Maple Chili Cauliflower canapé during the cocktail hour was a huge crowd favorite. They also went above & beyond to accommodate our vegan guests, ensuring everyone had delicious options to enjoy. A special shoutout to their beautiful, brand-new chafing dishes, which looked absolutely stunning at the venue. Our guests are still raving about how delicious the food was! A huge thank you to the WeDesi team, headed by Lakhvir & Sangam, for making our night especially delicious & unforgettable!View more
The food is not terribly bad. Its just below average. Vada pav is not really the best. Its just some veggie patty in a bun. The ambience is good. However, the food is not really memorable at all. Its like someone is cooking the food just to do his/her job. Other indian restaurants in Montreal atleast have few best dishes which stand out. We Desi does not. Rabri falooda was another disaster that I ordered. I was given 3 spoons of falooda in a big glass cup. The cup was almost empty. It even looked horrible. This cost me $7.99. I was not happy at all. When I asked the cashier, why they served so little, she casually replied,' Sir, rabri is expensive thats why.' So I was thinking why even keep it on the menu? Do you think we cant afford more rabri? Why serve customers 3 spoons of dessert for $8? I could've a tub of chocolate ice cream for $5 which is atleast 20 times the quantity which you served me! I have had rabri falooda many times elsewhere but never EVER was I served this little. What enraged me even more was her casual reply. Atleast she could have apologised & corrected the mistake. But she refused to do so. I can go on & on but this is just not acceptable. If you have the freedom to decide whats on your menu, why put on such a shameful dish on the menu? Overall, this restaurant seems below average in food taste & quantity. Step 1 to improve the restaurant would be to replace all the chefs immediately. There are many customers who have cited in the reviews bad food taste & quality. We were excited to try Indian food in this restaurant & even drove 1 hr to reach here only to be disappointed.View more
I was on business visit & was looking for a good restaurant with options for Vegetarians. I was not disappointed with four dishes I tried. The food was good, portion size is good, price is also very reasonable but the best part was the service. They were a little busy leading to some wait time. But I was amazed how one person'Neha' managed every table so well & that too with a big smile.View more
