Not as good as the reviews. 13$ a plate and no tzaziki, this is considered an extra. So you order up come home and discover that tzaziki is not included, you are thrilled...
Service is quiet but not enthusiast.
You are left With chicken brochette and dollar potatoes.
Not really 'Greek' food. This is classic Montreal fast food souvlaki and very good - it's won best Souvlaki in the city many times. Excellent souvlaki pitas with slice of cucumber and very good tzatziki (ONLY suggested improvement would be thicker pita). Everyone likes the dollar fries. Feta with garlic bread is very good. 'Greek' salad lacks flavour but is always fresh. Order at counter and sit in dining room or take out (sit in and eat fresh is always best). Extremely fast service. Great for families and kids. Not expensive. 2 can eat like kings for $20. No liquor licence. Doesn't try to be something it's not. High marks.
Perhaps I am a real food snob, but in my opinion, as far as Greek restaurants go, this one is just okay.
Villa's setup reminds me of a fancy hospital cafeteria: order at the cash, pick up your food when ready.
Service is less than pleasant and by not taking interact, that was already strike 2.
I ordered the pita plate and husband took the pork (2 sticks). Greek salad, uneventful. Green peppers and olives soggy. Onions limp and feta dry.
Fries were nothing to write home about. Average. But the meat was kind of dry and tough. Good portion sizes mind you, but as far as the spices go, pretty generic. Many other (good Greek restos) marinade their brochettes for hours and have a nice glaze when BBQ'ed, but this looked as if some basil/rosemary were sparingly sprinkled on for good measure.
The tzaziki was quite good but a yogurt based (firm and not liquidy, not like Marathon who use sour cream for theirs = heavenly!) The toasted garlic bread was a nice touch too.
Not the beat, but not the worst for what NDG has to offer.
One word: deeeeeelicious! Best Greek food on the go in Montreal. The souvlaki pita is just mouth-watering, perfect, always good and the fries Oh my... Scrumptious lol I highly recommend this place. Go for it!
Tout simplement le meilleur souvlaki à Montréal (et les frites rondes ne sont pas piquées des vers non plus!)
The best Souvlaki pita ever!!! The tzatziki sauce is to die for, so delicious and the potatoes are so so yummy! I usually take it to go.
If you love Greek food and haven't tried this place yet, go for it! Price is good and food is truly delicious!
Don't expect anything fancy, it's a very casual type of place and very worth trying!
One the best souvlaki palces in the whole of Islandl!! I have known of this place since the early 90s. No matter where I live in Mtl I always end up eating Souvlakis there! The special spices [secret] that are used give it that yum factor but it also could be that they're still making them the same way since I started going there. I thank my best friend, who showed me this place!!! I find it better then Arahova and Marathon's combine!
Great food - hard to beat for the price! Their fries are really nice (don't know if they're still like this, but they used to be potato slices instead of the trad. julienne or wedge), and they use good feta & veggies!
Hard chairs, informal place, but it doesn't matter when the food is so good.
A staple in my NDG diet. Cash only means I don't indulge too much :)
Amazing tzatziki is a must for every order. Simple salad is refreshing and perfectly dressed. Pork and chicked souvlaki are great as a brochette or in a pita.
If you are getting take-out, always get your fries on the side!
mmmmm love this place, I tried many greek restaurants and this one makes the best souvlakis and fries ever.Their tzaziki sauce is amazing yummy. Very humble place nothing fancy but the food is deeeelicious!
