Jazz à l'année, merveilleux !
J'y suis aller pour souper & spectacle !
Unforgettable evening. Live music, Annika Chambers & Paul Deslauriers were awesome.
UPSTAIRS Jazz Montreal is a new favorite place for me & my wife.
Been here several times now, the most intimate & nicest jazz club I've been to! Patrons are respectful & keep quiet during the performances. You can actually enjoy the music as opposed to many other venues which have loud patrons which I find disrespectful. Will definitely be attending many shows in the future!
Incredible jazz club. Intimate setting right up front. Great service. Music was fantastic. Jazz with Cuban influence.
Like many jazz clubs, many people in a small place. Two of us booked rez late for 9:45 show on a Fri night, so were only able to get seating at the bar. On arrival they were delayed in turnover from 7pm show, so patrons for 9:45 show were standing outside til 9:30 not quite knowing what was going on. Hostess was wonderful & we all got seated. Bar space is shoulder to shoulder & on high stools angled at 90 degrees to stage. While you can manuever head to see the stage thru other heads, being twisted at 90 degrees was tough on my back. The sound system was excellent & all seats are close to stage with space being small. Having one of first 5 bar stools would be much better. The bartender was excellent & fast being right in front of you. We saw Dawn Tyler Watson Quartet & found ourselves lucky to stumble upon such an amazing voice with excellent musicians for such a small price. Show was 75 minutes, with every bit of it enjoyable. Get a table & you will love this place.
Darn good bourbon bacon burger, great music ( thanks Diavinci's code), & great atmosphere
Caught an unforgettable Jazz & Blues set in Montreal featuring the powerhouse vocals of Dawn Tyler Watson, backed by an exceptional trio: John Sadowy on piano, Clinton Ryder on bass, & Al Bourgeois on drums. Dawn lit up the stage with her soulful voice & magnetic presence-equal parts singer & storyteller. John's piano work was fluid & expressive, Clinton laid down rich, resonant bass lines, & Al's drumming brought the perfect rhythm & drive. The chemistry among the musicians was palpable, making for a truly immersive evening. If you're in Montreal & craving live music that moves you, this is a must.
Lagavulin 8 year enhanced the evening!
Food is good, but just that, no more. Service is good & friendly, just right. Atmosphere is really great!
J'ai adoré l'ambiance, seul bémol il fait trop sombre pour lire le menu
My wife & i did not like the food. I had the eggplant parm. My wife had the fish tacos. My eggplant had more cheese than eggplant. My wife taco had very little fish & no mongo sauce..
i enjoyed the atmosphere & the music.
