Cozy place with a lot of character. Brick walls, candlelight, a grand piano by the window - everything sets the mood just right. The music is good, the staff is kind, & it's just a nice spot to relax.. We only had one evening in Montreal - & we're glad we spent it in this jazz bar.
Wonderful experience, great server, perfect table, & enjoyable food & drinks.
I had so much fun & the Cuban Jazz band was absolutely amazing. Good job 👏 & merci beaucoup for the lovely evening :)
We absolutely loved the show but the food left a lot to be desired.
Not worth the money. I'd rather pay for a jazz concert at a music hall, because the waiter would not allow us to talk at a low voice during the time the band was playing. They charged a $17 cover & then the waiter insisted every time he came to the table, that every person HAD to order a dish from the menu. I ordered'cazuela de mariscos' & the rice was overcooked to the point of almost disintegrating. They just added a lot of black pepper to make it seem flavorful. I can tell you (after a decade of living in Spain itself) that this is not how you cook a'cazuela de mariscos'. This anti-social experience really ruined our meeting with friends we had not seen in 6 years. Would not recommend as a place for socializing. Not at all like the other jazz clubs I've been to in other cities in the world. Maybe they should just put rows of seats in front of the stage, & forget about serving meals?
I came specifically to listen to jazz. You have to book a seat in advance. I liked it.
Very nice Jazz Place in the heart of Montreal. Super cosy, great music & very good food. We reserved the table close to the stage & had a great musical night! Absolutely recommend it when you're in Montreal!
Imagine a nice, cozy cottage but in the middle of a beautiful, cosmopolitan city. Imagine you've hired a private chef fully staffed. Now imagine that your friends brought their friends who happen to be amazing jazz musicians. …& they start playing with full force yet in a very friendly way, they play pieces that take you places & make your night one to remember. I will remember that night. Thank you!
We really enjoyed the early show & the food/drink was quite good. My wife had the salmon with rice & i had the steak frites. The music was more bluesy the night we went, which we enjoyed.
Our go-to spot in Montreal for a grea night out. Upstairs Jazz always brings in really talented performers & the regulars know it.
