Great little jazz club with amazing food. Ticket cost ($15) is added to the bill for those with dinner reservations. Had the'Cabo' aubergine appetizer &'Vivaneau' red snapper, both were incredible! & the music was amazing. Will definitely be back.

I was ecstatic in this place, the music was incredible, a beautiful show, the food was delicious, a very cozy & beautiful place, the waiter was super friendly the whole time, we will definitely come back.

We thoroughly enjoyed the performance. The singer had an incredible voice, & her wit & humor added a delightful touch. The band complemented her energy perfectly. The food was also excellent. However, if you're planning a reunion or a first date, this bar might not be the ideal spot unless you're planning to spend some time there before or after the show. We initially thought it was a restaurant with jazz music enhancing the experience, but it turns out it's more of a performance venue. We were advised to enjoy the show with minimal interaction & to communicate quietly.

It is very disappointing to come to a show at Upstairs only to find that the piano is highly out of tune from the middle C up. While most places only charge one drink minimum for a Jam session, Upstairs charges a cover & on top of that forces you to consume yet they can't afford to tune the piano. It is disrespectful towards the audience & the musicians! Maybe they think people don't notice but it completely ruins the experience, especially for a piano trio setting. If I were one of the musicians having to perform in such a poor-sounding instrument I would be embarrassed.

Great music, jazz was really nice & entertaining.

The place is very cosy, but be aware the tables are very tightly placed one next to the other. It feels like you can bump shoulders at any time.

Service is ok. If they actually come to your table, when they actually see you, they are cordial & try their help. They brought the bill even before asking if we wanted anything else. That was quite a minus.

Food is ok, nothing outstanding. Don't expect too much.

In general it's a good place. They are 4/5 due to the jazz & the ambience.
I'd return there.

I can't get enough of this place. It's cozy, relaxing, fun, & efficient. They bring in the best musicians, & everything feels like I am part of something special. Genuinely. :)

Really cool local spot, highly recommend. It was packed & a reservation is an absolute MUST but the jazz music was incredible. I love the swanky atmosphere in the bar area too, I recommend reserving bar seats or seats up front for the best experience of the music. We didn't eat but the food looked & smelled delicious. Our drinks tasted amazing!

We loved EVERYTHING about this Jazz Bar! The ambiance, the mature crowd, the music was Afro Cuban Soul Jazz & it was amazing! The food & drinks were also top tier! We loved it! We're US Visitors from Atlanta, Ga. & highly recommend this bar! Thank you!

Vibey & super cool place. Very intimate. The music was amazing I've never heard a jazz tribute to Pink Floyd before & mind blown. The food & drinks were also delicious & the service was excellent. We had a great view of the stage at the bar. I would definitely come back here if I'm ever in Montreal again!

We were in Montreal for four nights & had planned to hear some music & eat some good food in the dead of winter. I found Upstairs Jazz online & it looked amazing. We booked for dinner & the early show, & it could not have been a more wonderful evening! We sat at the end of the bar closest to the stage for a 6:15 dinner reservation & the 7:00 pm show. Ate our dinner & then turned our chairs around to have the best seats in the place for what was a truly incredible 75 minute set of wonderful jazz. I would recommend Upstairs Jazz Bar & Grill to anyone wishing for an authentic music experience in a small venue like it used to be.

C'est un endroit intime & nous avons eu un très bon service. Nous avions réservé près de la scène & nous avons beaucoup apprécié voir les musiciens de si proche. À noter, il y a peu d'espace entre les tables voisines. Ça nous a causé un petit malaise en arrivant, mais nous nous sommes rapidement habitués.
