It is a quaint location with great atmosphere!! It reminded me of the Smokey jazz bars that once held Oscar Peterson & other jazz greats. The staff were so friendly especially the bartender who made a julep that tasted like a creamsicle. The beverages were great but the food....not so much. But the flamingo jazz made up for the food. This is a local spot & one that was appreciated by all. Go if you can, you won't be disappointed.

I didn't eat any food there. We went after a lovely dinner to enjoy the live band & have additional cocktails. Both were amazing! The band was absolutely worth the late night! The band was a blues & a jazz band & they were great!!

First time here - had the opportunity to listen to a great jazz set. Service was amazing - she was always right there when I was thinking about ordering another round of drinks. I highly recommend this super cozy basement establishment - great acoustics too.

Upstairs Jazz Bar in Montreal is a gem! The ambiance is amazing, with that perfect old jazz club vibe that sets the mood for a great night. The acoustics were flawless, allowing us to fully appreciate the incredible performance by the Blackburn Brothers-they were outstanding! The staff was friendly & welcoming, making the entire experience even better. If you're a jazz lover, this spot is a must!

We found Upstairs while searching for live Jazz in Montréal. It was a spontaneous drop in & we found seats at the bar but recommend reservations especially if a well known group is performing. This is a venue for the Montréal Jazz Festival held annually late June/early July. We shared a salad & a bottle of red wine both of which were fine. Can't comment on the mains, but I'd definitely return to try a dinner & a jazz night. The cover was very reasonable at around twelve dollars per person.

Omg! Upstairs Jazz Bar & Grill is one of its kind that I've been to in recent times. If you stood outside you wouldn't know how sweet the activities going on inside & you wouldn't know the excellent service they offer. I was there two nights consecutively because we enjoyed our first night show which was free but we went the next evening so we could pay & enjoy some meals & we enjoyed ourselves. The attendants are very courteous & friendly. I recommend

Nous avions pris la peine de réserver & malgré cela nous avons hérité de la pire table du restaurant, à savoir celle à l'entrée du restaurant, juste à côté des gens qui patientent en attendant d'être placés. Je ne parle pas du burger très épicé que je n'avais pas commandé. Malgre tout l'accueil a été correct & le groupe de jazz était au top.

Beautiful place, intimate & romantic. The jazz show was A M A Z I N G, however the food, drinks, & jazz tickets tend to be on the more expensive side. Nevertheless, it's is truly a once in a lifetime kind of experience, it remains an extremely memorable outing!

Can't speak to the food, only came for wine & live music during jazz festival... Loved the cozy atmosphere, friendly staff & great music... Had to ait outside bc I didn't have a reservation, but so thankful they even made room for me. I was able to hear the music & appreciate the evening all the same!
