The food was absolutely delicious. & the music was amazing. The staff / service was also 10/10!! This jazz bar is absolutely fantastic!

We made a booking a bit too late so we were seated in the back terrace. We could barely the band play but that was OK. The sound was very good on the back terrace plus we got to hangout with Steve Turre & the band after has amazing set. We had a great time.

Fantastic Jazz bar. Saw a wonderful show. Intimate setting-- the whole place seats about 60 people. Service was excellent. I will definitely return.

Great place to see a nice show. It is cozy & feels close to the band. Have plenty of space even sitting at the bar.
Service is great & fast. & the fact that the price of the Thursday show is included makes it easier to manage.

My favorite Jazz bar in Montreal. Always good music, very friendly & competent staff, great food & cozy ambiance. We go very often. I love it!

Awesome experience & music. Had a nice dinner with great service. Make a reservation…the earlier the better the seat! The bar was comfy & the higher chairs were nice in the tight space.

Delicious food & drinks! Service was outstanding including greetings from Joel. Great to be there on the 30 year anniversary & of course listen to Kenny Werner. Highly recommend Upstairs Jazz Bar!

Célébrant son 30e anniversaire hier le 11 avril, ce bar est une institution, un incontournable de la scène jazz montréalaise. De la bouche de son proprio, c'est un endroit où les artistes & leur public échangent art & passion. La salle est intimiste, les musiciens généreux & le staff accueillant. Y venir une fois, c'est aussi vouloir y revenir.

Je pense que le Upstairs est plus qu'un resto-bar. C'est une expérience unique d'ambiance & de vrai jazz que je n'ai pas trouvé ailleurs au Canada. C'est mon Numéro Un sur ma liste de sortie musicale.

We thoroughly enjoyed the performance. The singer had an incredible voice, & her wit & humor added a delightful touch. The band complemented her energy perfectly. The food was also excellent. However, if you're planning a reunion or a first date, this bar might not be the ideal spot unless you're planning to spend some time there before or after the show. We initially thought it was a restaurant with jazz music enhancing the experience, but it turns out it's more of a performance venue. We were advised to enjoy the show with minimal interaction & to communicate quietly.

Really cool local spot, highly recommend. It was packed & a reservation is an absolute MUST but the jazz music was incredible. I love the swanky atmosphere in the bar area too, I recommend reserving bar seats or seats up front for the best experience of the music. We didn't eat but the food looked & smelled delicious. Our drinks tasted amazing!

We loved EVERYTHING about this Jazz Bar! The ambiance, the mature crowd, the music was Afro Cuban Soul Jazz & it was amazing! The food & drinks were also top tier! We loved it! We're US Visitors from Atlanta, Ga. & highly recommend this bar! Thank you!

Fun spot to come see some live shows, cozy & intimate, can be a little tight trying to leave The fish & chips were delicious End of the bar isn't the greatest spot to see the shows but all the servers & bartenders are so chill & gave off such good vibes that I had fun regardless

Vibey & super cool place. Very intimate. The music was amazing I've never heard a jazz tribute to Pink Floyd before & mind blown. The food & drinks were also delicious & the service was excellent. We had a great view of the stage at the bar. I would definitely come back here if I'm ever in Montreal again!

Very chill jazz bar. I've been there a few times & gotten to sit in a variety of performances; the local student jam sessions were really fun! Solid cocktails for their price NO COVER CHARGE!

We were in Montreal for four nights & had planned to hear some music & eat some good food in the dead of winter. I found Upstairs Jazz online & it looked amazing. We booked for dinner & the early show, & it could not have been a more wonderful evening! We sat at the end of the bar closest to the stage for a 6:15 dinner reservation & the 7:00 pm show. Ate our dinner & then turned our chairs around to have the best seats in the place for what was a truly incredible 75 minute set of wonderful jazz. I would recommend Upstairs Jazz Bar & Grill to anyone wishing for an authentic music experience in a small venue like it used to be.
