empanada(18) filipino(11) to go(7) sauce(6) recommend(6) kwek(6) authentic(5) price(5) skewers(5) taho(4) salty(4) crispy(4)The taho wasn't what I expected, but everything else we ordered was good, fairly priced, filling, & the sauces were great. The place was also very clean. The only thing I'd suggest is a little more welcoming energy & enthusiasm from the staff. We did come in during the evening, so I understand it may have been a long day, but a bit more warmth would make the dining experience even better & reflect the Filipino hospitality we're known for.
Wow that ilocos empanadas is insane. One of the crunchiest thing I've ever eaten. Not overly oily & not overly salty. Well balanced :)
Absolutely get it at the restaurant (for $8,50) instead of the festival (because it's more expensive there!)
Love the'Boîte Street' with 2 x 4 flavours of fishballs. A really nice discovery ❤?
Very disappointed, the batter was too thick & even if there was lots of filling, i cannot get past the batter. It was making a squeaky sound between my teeth when i try to bite into it. Also the bathrooms have no lights??
I was super hyped when i heard & saw that theyre selling empanadas now! I also got highly influenced by tiktokers who tried it but to my dismay… the hype is not worth it. The batter is thick & the filling didnt taste anything. I had to eat it with a lot of sauce just to make it'enjoyable'. I saw some reviews saying it was too salty so i guess they just overall toned down with the seasoning 😬
& the price? Wew.. 10$ for one is crazy.. everything on their menu is overpriced & youre paying for the brand & logo more than the quality & taste of their food.
We had the empanada 8.50$ before taxes (10$). The batter is too thick! It has a lot of yummy fillings, but i cannot get past the thick batter where it should be thin & crispy
The empanadas were salty literally unedible without a sweet drink. I bought 3 & 2 of them were too salty.
If you're Filipino, this feels like home, & if you're not, this is a great place to start. Very authentic street food experience (complete with your choice of dips/sauces) in a clean, trendy atmosphere. Decent price too. The modern Filipino spot the Montreal food scene needs - 11/10 would come back!
This place is a gem. Honestly can't wait to go back. I drove from the south shore just to try the empinadas & it did not disappoint. The food is crazy good the pork balls & pork skewers were so good. The service was a 10 on 10. I left with my food & had a bite while in my car & had to do a u turn to go back for there vinegar sauce cuz it is addictive. They were so nice to me they gave me a large cup on the house. I especially appreciate the service from the staff they are super nice . Thanks MARF
( I hope I spelled it right)
I recommend this place to everyone
Danielle thank you. You're the best, food was flavourful & I can't stop thinking about it!!!!!!!
