About

Tusok-Tusok centers on the vibrant world of Filipino street food, emphasizing the bold flavors of grilled skewers and traditional snacks. The menu highlights various meats and vegetables charred over an open flame, resulting in a distinct smoky aroma and a satisfyingly crispy texture. Savory glazes and tangy dipping sauces accompany each serving, providing a balance of salt, acid, and heat. The kitchen prepares each portion with fresh ingredients to capture the authentic spirit of home-style island cooking. Small bites range from succulent pork belly to marinated tofu, all served hot directly from the grill. This establishment maintains a simple approach to preparation, allowing the natural juices and spice blends to take center stage in every dish provided for the table.

Review Summary

Tusok-Tusok offers a nostalgic experience for those seeking authentic Filipino street food in Montreal, with many diners praising the crispy empanadas, flavorful kwek kwek, and classic skewers like fish balls and isaw. While the food effectively captures the taste of traditional snacks, feedback remains mixed regarding the pricing and portion sizes, which some feel are a bit high. Concerns were also raised about excess grease on fried items and the lack of rice options, yet the establishment remains a popular destination for those wanting to enjoy unique and nostalgic treats that are otherwise difficult to find in the city.

This place is a gem. Honestly can't wait to go back. I drove from the south shore just to try the empinadas & it did not disappoint. The food is crazy good the pork balls & pork skewers were so good. The service was a 10 on 10. I left with my food & had a bite while in my car & had to do a u turn to go back for there vinegar sauce cuz it is addictive. They were so nice to me they gave me a large cup on the house. I especially appreciate the service from the staff they are super nice . Thanks MARF
( I hope I spelled it right)

If you're Filipino, this feels like home, & if you're not, this is a great place to start. Very authentic street food experience (complete with your choice of dips/sauces) in a clean, trendy atmosphere. Decent price too. The modern Filipino spot the Montreal food scene needs - 11/10 would come back!

U know the place is legit when theres Filipinos coming in & out. It dont have nothing to compare the food with. But it was delicious everything was flavorful. The place is clean. Theres not a lot of sit down tables so it get a lil chaotic on that front. I'd go back to grab some takeout for sure.

I don't live around this area but I decided to go for a long trip to try this place. 100% worth it. The food was amazing. Everything was great & fresh. The staff were really welcoming! They took the time to explain the menu to me! It was really affordable. The empanadas were huuugeee & priced fairly. My friend & I really enjoyed this place. The environment was sooo cozy. 100% recommend

Food was decent but it they didn't have rice, bbq chicken & a few others things at 3pm on a Saturday. Very under prepared. They also gave us a 1 hour wait for their empanadas. Very expensive, very under prepared & very underwhelming vs the online stating they were prepared for customers.

Excellent empenadas! Real crunchy. Really welcoming staff. I arrived a few minutes before closure & they cooked me an empenanda if I was willing to wait a bit. Of course I was, I went there just to taste them, delicious!

It is my first time here, & the Filipino vibe did not disappoint. The taste is so Pinoy. Would definitely come back!
