Always seasonal & fresh. The local fried mushrooms with ranch sauce were excellent as was the Gaspe tuna as appetizers. Fish & steak for mains were prepared perfectly.View more
Amazing food & vibe. Get the fried shrooms, salad, beef tartare, & steak+fries I would like to thank Jonathan, Luis, & Robyn for the excellent service. We were welcomed with friendliness the moment we stepped in the establishment!View more
Tuck Shop is an absolute must-visit if you're in town. Everything - from the food to the service to the atmosphere - is outstanding. The staff are some of the friendliest & kindest I've ever encountered, with incredibly fast & attentive service. The food was delicious across the board, with highlights including the seasonal king crab, the octopus, their classic steak frites, & the chocolate dessert. I cannot recommend Tuck Shop enough & will definitely be coming back.View more
Incredible food with a vast selection of wines, & excellent service! Highly recommend the oysters & steak, if on the menu.View more
10/10 - an absolute must-visit when in Montreal!
The service is nothing short of impeccable, making you feel truly welcomed from the moment you arrive. The culinary offerings are absolutely divine & will leave your taste buds dancing with delight.
The hanger steak is an essential choice-it's one of the best steaks I've ever savored, cooked to perfection with a rich, mouthwatering flavor that simply melts in your mouth!
& don't overlook the desserts; they are truly extraordinary, each one a sweet masterpiece that rounds off the meal beautifully.
The atmosphere is equally captivating, creating a vibrant & lively vibe that enhances the entire dining experience.View more
Great ambience & amazing service! More of a lowkey, casual fine dining place. We got the Focaccia to start & it was honestly the best I ever had. Perfectly salted, super soft on the inside, & add the perfect crisp on the outside. For the mains we split the: - Hanger Steak it was good & the fries were good, but nothing special - Duck magret the duck was cooked soo well & I liked all the complementary components of the dish - Cappelletti my husband loved this dish, but since I'm not a fan of sweeter pasta, I couldn't not taste pumpkin pie. He however, thought it was the best dish out of the 3 we triedView more
Such a great place. I can hardly explain how fantastic this restaurant is. The staff were lively & attentive. Funny & personable. Very cool. The restaurant is cozy & clean. Everything flows nicely. The food is unbelievable. The menu is short & sweet. Everything is a star. Nothing that shouldn't be there. Very well thought out & executed. Fresh grated horseradish & housemade hotsauce for the oysters is a nice detail. If you see miatake mushrooms on the menu, do yourself a favor & order them. You will thank me. Maybe some of the most delicious flavors I've ever tasted. Cod was moist & perfectly seared. Sauces were on point. Hanger steak was cooked perfect medium rare. Awesome fries with the steak. Get the desserts. Chocolate nemesis is decadent. Cheesecake had wonderful fat blueberries bursting with flavor. What a wonderful place. I will be singing its praises until I come back. & I will whenever I'm in Montréal.View more
We had an amazing experience here with Michelle, Jonathan, & the whole team. We started with the foccacia & shared the corn agnolotti, chicken ballotine, & the hangar steak. All dishes were wonderfully cooked & Michelle convinced us to share 3 dishes & taste more. Her knowledge & personality set the meal apart for us! The cooking chops & flavors on their own were extremely impressive, but the hospitality here is next level.. We also had the blueberry cheescake for dessert, that was memorable & had some unique traits that made it stick out. I can't say enough good things! Come here with friends & indulge!View more
I've been here twice & both times the music is way too loud, very hard to have a discussion. We have tried the steak & the chicken. The chicken was ok, very small pieces & wouldn't try it again. The steak is delicious, it comes with a ton of fries, for the price point, i would have prefered another side as well. The service was ok, i found the waiter was a bit unrpofessional/too friendlyView more
I was visiting the city with some friends & found some recs for Tuck Shop on Reddit. The service is exceptional, the food is something to return for, & the space has a stylish atmosphere. We shared some oysters, I had the grilled swordfish & my friends both had the Hanger steak with fries. For dessert we had the plum sundae, ice cream sandwich & olive oil cake. All were amazing including drinks. They have an extensive wine list. All in all we really enjoyed the whole experience & would reccomend. Additionally we're staying downtown & this charming neighborhood of 2 & 3 story old brick buildings was a welcome change. Bravo Tuck Shop 👏👏👏View more
Firstly I am not a person who usually posts reviews -basically if I don't feel it's worth a second visit -then I don't go back-but for TuckShop feel I need to -this is a place my wife has been wanting to go for some time now & finally she got a reservation. The staff experienced & well trained But -talk about overpriced....I have no issues paying for food as long as we get what we pay for-I had the lamp for $56 -well if you remove all the fluff fluff from the plate -there was no more than 3ounces of actual lamp. Wife had hungar steak for another $57 -with fries -honestly give a Ribsteak for a little more everyday of the week. Summary-alot of expectations after waiting for months -absolutely not worth the wait . Like I said -I don't mind paying $200 per couple but here you do not get what you pay for . Just to finish -as I & my buddy walked in after dropping off the ladies -an attendee just asked if we are looking for the 2 ladies at which point he said "you guys must be in the doghouse cause you are going to pay plenty for the meal"unquote. Montreal is full of restaurants -choice another. SorryView more
Very good our waiter was nice & atmosphere was beautiful & the service was extremely quick. You can wait 15 minutes & get your hanger steak. The atmosphere was also very nice.View more
Atmosphere was amazing, service was fast & attentive. But the steak i ordered was overcooked, dry & equivalent to a flank steak i could by from Walmart. Places like these should have food you crave & not only bells/whistles. It's mediocre for the price you pay.View more
Because one of our friends was sick & couldn't come, we had one less person than the reservation. The waiter was very impatient with us. I asked clearly when I made the reservation whether it was my friend's birthday & whether we could bring a birthday cake, & they said yes. When we arrived, we were told that we needed to pay an additional 20$ per person for the birthday cake. There was no mention of an additional charge during the phone call. We waited an hour after ordering before we got our meal, & the steak was completely mushy. Emmmmm...I probably won't go back again.View more
The culinary finesse & aesthetic appeal of the dishes at Tuck Shop are flawlessly complemented by the staff's top-notch service. As regulars who often celebrate special occasions here, my wife & I are continually charmed by the experience. My go-to dish is the hanger steak served with chimichurri & accompanied by crisp fries, while my wife usually opts for the freshest catch of the day. If available, don't overlook the focaccia - it's a flavour-packed masterpiece that's nothing short of divine.View more
My husband & I were really disappointed with our dining experience at Tuck Shop. We were celebrating our anniversary & we had made reservations. The restaurant was empty when we went in except for 1 couple. They sat us exactly next to that couple (as if we were a table of 4). The next couple who came in were also seated exactly to our left. Very awkward & uncomfortable for all of us. The cocktail was 19$ plus tax plus tip. I saw the bartender shake it & prepare it in 10 seconds, not even a garnish on it, what a joke. How hard is it to put a sprig of thyme to amp it up? Hoping the food would impress us after all the rave reviews, it really didn’t. We took the hanger steak & fries, horrible meat cut. My knife couldn’t even cut it, imagine chewing it, so nervy. The pork chop was just ok, nothing exciting & would not want to order it again. We had the chanterelle starter on focaccia, once again, nothing memorable & nothing tying it together.View more
Honestly, 5 star service. Very well treated, as if you're family. Would go back here time & time again just for the ambiance.
I have been here a number of times & have tried many different things. All was fantastic, from the halibut with root puree to the rib steak & fries.
Love this place.
