TSUJIRI was founded in 1860 by Riemon Tsuji who was renowned for his spirit of “YUWA”, meaning "continue to innovate and sustain the tradition". His statue was built in Kyoto, Japan to honor his contribution to the Japanese tea industry. Mr. Tsuji has refined the cultivation of Gyokuro (the highest grade of Japanese green tea) and his method is still being used to this day. He is also the inventor of the tea box that preserves the longevity and freshness of the tea leaves during transportation, making fresh tea from Kyoto available to other Japanese cities a century ago. In 2010, CHAHO, which means tea shop in Japanese, was first established outside of Japan to carry on our founder’s spirit and to serve fresh tea to our customers worldwide.

Un café parfait pour les fans de houjicha.
J'ai pris le parfait au houjicha avec shiratama : il y avait l'équivalent d'une bonne portion (je dirais c'est pour 1,5 personne) de glace au houjicha, 3 dangos, de l'azuki & de la gelée au matcha.
Mais comme la gelée au matcha représentait presque la moitié du verre, j'aurais préféré un peu plus de glace par rapport à la gelée.
Si vous n'aimez pas les desserts trop sucrés, cela ne sera pas idéal. Mais pour les accros au sucre , oui! C'est une vrai régalade.
Le lieu n'est pas très propre par contre. Vu le monde qu'il y a, la propreté laisse à désirer.View more

Everything matcha is delicious...best matcha ice cream. Also very good ramen & poke bowls. Great casual dinner or dropping in for dessert. The parfaits are amazing. Wish they stayed open later in the summer though.View more

Absolutely loved this place! Visited the restaurant last week, & oh boy - I must say, they serve the best matcha in town. From the moment I walked in, I was amazed by the variety of matcha-infused desserts on the menu. Their matcha-flavored cakes were heavenly - rich, balanced, & full of authentic matcha goodness. This place is going head to head with closeby competitor Matcha Zanmai, with similar offerings centering around Matcha & Hojicha. Tsujiri does have a larger menu with some other items not found at Zanmai however. It also offers more seating for customers, which is especially useful for the cold months. I went for the matcha ice cream & was satisfied with the texture & flavour of the dessert. I'm not a fanatic of Matcha but definitely appreciate it.View more

You know, rhe amount of time I go to Tsujiri, grabbing a Genmaicha &, at times, a dessert, I've never actually tried their dishes.
This time, with my partner, we went ahead & got their Dashi Chazuke. Salmon for her, Unagi (eel) for me.
Gotta say, food was so good, I'm tempted to try to make it at home.

So authentic, from the food down to the matcha. Most places claim their matcha is authentic but Tsujiri really means it. The drinks & dessert are delicious. Plenty of space for indoor seating. Staff were very nice & patient too. I found it a bit pricey, but the quality is definitely high.View more

Si vous aimez le matcha 🍵 c'est l'endroit par excellence au centre-ville de Montréal. J'ai mangé une excellente salade de pâtes & saumon (comme un poké) & dévoré un dessert à la glace au matcha avec du riz soufflé. Il y a beaucoup de place donc il est facile d'y aller entre amis. A really chill place! If you love matcha, this is definitely the place to go to. They have a lot of matcha & yuzu based desserts but also serve savory meals like udons that are flavorful but also very light. I can never go there without their cold yuzu tea!View more

I've only had Tsujiri's drinks before in Calgary, so to come here & have their food was a great experience. I had their poke soba, incredibly refreshing dish. My friend's tonkotsu soba was rich & flavourful. The matcha latte here was so good. Dessert of one of the Glace Pilee was also refreshing.View more

After coming back from Tokyo, I have been on the constant hunt for the best matcha in Montreal. This Summer, my partner introduced me to this hidden gem called "Tsujiri." Not only did they have the best matcha I ever tasted, they have a delicious array of matcha & hojicha sweets/cakes/desserts & ramen (their tonkotsu is a must try). & to top it all off, the service at Tsujiri is absolutely top-notch & their atmosphere/aesthetic is so Japanese that sometimes I have to remind myself that I am still in Montreal (sadly) & not in Japan. 10/10 Would recommend to each & everyone I know!View more

Tsujiri is famous for their world renowned green tea & this shop carried with its name is famous for their matcha dessert. All desserts created with Japanese aesestics. Visually appealing, look simple & complex in making. If you are first time here, I would like to recommend their green tea soft serve icecream products such as parfaits, or as simple as green tea ice cream in the cone. I am sure you won't disappointed. I wish I discovered this place EARLIER. PERFECT for a MATCHA & JAPANESE FOOD LOVER.
It's an unique hidden gem in downtown Montreal. Love that they both have salty & sweet food.
Start with a drink such as the Yuzu O-Matcha, a perfect cold drink combining these awesome flavors. Then eat your main course : their Tonkotsu Soba is perfect (not overly salty & full of flavor. Their porc melts!). LOVE their Dashi Chazuke where I could taste a lot of different flavors. End with a dessert such as Dessert Parfait & Shiratama Parfait.
Service is super quick & efficient. Staffs are so so friendly & welcoming. Place is clean with a lot of place to seat & to chill.
