Amazing food, service & vibe. Been looking forward to visiting since Nov. Made my first night in Montreal an amazing experience. Food was delightful. Service amazing, drinks yummy. Had the best time & would highly recommend. Thumbs up from a picky NYer.

Delicious & exotic cuisine. Fantastic ambiance. Professional & friendly staff. Great music. I had a wonderful birthday night. I came for the culinary experience during dinner time, & stayed for the music. My friends & I really enjoyed the experience & go back any other night during the week for drinks, dinner, & for the music. If you're looking for an immersive caribbean experience, I would highly recommend Tropikàl!

Nous avons appréciés notre expérience globale au Tropikal mais restons déçus sur certains points :
- Nous avons été mis au bar alors que le restaurant était vide. Je précise aussi qu'au moins 7 ou 8 tables sont restées vides tout le long de notre présence & que nous aurions donc largement pu bénéficier d'une table. Le bar, lui, était pleins, les dernières places qu'il restés étaient en face du barman (très sympathique au passage) mais emplacement très bruyant & peu intimiste pour une soirée en amoureux, réservée en ligne depuis plus d'une semaine. C'est apparemment la règle pour les réservations de 2... Mais pourquoi ne pas le notifier lors de la réservation ? 2 couples ont été ensuite placés à des tables après notre arrivée... Un peu frustrant je dois dire.
- A peine assis, la serveuse nous dit que nous avons 2h devant nous... Ok mais peu apprécié de l'entendre.
- Le serveur qui nous a servi à manger n'avez pas l'air très heureux d'être ici..

Points positifs :
Le lieux, le barman (très bon cocktails), la bouffe mérite un 4*.

J'espère que cet avis aidera à L'amélioration du service.

Excellent food. We sat at the bar. The music was just a little loud for supper time, & service a tad slow. But the food was more than good. Can't wait to try it again :)

Nous sommes arrivés à l'heure de la réservation & ils n'étaient toujours pas prêts à y assister & ils nous ont demandé de partir & d'attendre dehors.
Plus tard, ils m'ont appelé pour arriver 30 minutes plus tard.
Il me semblait très mal d'accueillir de nouveaux clients.
La femme qui reçoit les gens à l'entrée n'était pas gentille du tout.
Seule la personne qui nous a servi à table était super sympa, j'ai juste aimé ça.

Delicious plantains! For people that don't like spicy, the Oxtail or Shrimp tacos are good choices. They ran out of the South African pinot grichio I really wanted to try but the food was good. Table was a little shaky.

We went out for date night, dining & cocktails. It wasn't the first time. I personally love it for the well mannered staff throughout, our barkeep/entertainer Kodjo delivered in all the ways that matters; from his flare to his warm presence, he made sure we were embracing the full experience .. we left completely fulfilled. He even kept'em coming, with perfect timing👌🏾 the food always so amazing!! No matter what you eat, your eyes will roll back! I most definitely recommend this place to anyone who enjoys a flavourful meal, in a place that delivers plenty on ambiance, beautiful staff always smiling, there is even a room for your parties (book by phone or online/reserve) & you know Chef Jae Anthony is incomparable when it comes to taste 🫡 Tropikal is an amazing supper club that I CANNOT wait to go back to!

very good restaurant. Food was amazing , drinks tasted good , ambiance was good , service was great. & the resturant itself was very beautiful. The reason for 4 stars is because 1. The drinks are very overpriced. I appriciate the quality of the drinks however I personally found it expensive. 2. The fact that it was reservation only. I wanted a booth when I arrived from my 6pm reservation. When I left at 715pm the same table were still not sat. So maybe just proving people an opportunity to sit at the booths between reservations. But overall , I would come back again & loved this place.

Food was decent. I find it was overall overpriced.
Staff was cordial but couldn't help but find we were being rushed to free the table we dined in at.
As the bar/party time was in about 1 hour.
We could've just kept enjoying a few more drinks sitting down.
But overall we enjoyed a nice evening out with some friends.

***HIGHLY RECOMMEND***

Drove to Montreal to eat at Tropikal & they did not disappoint (Definitely worth the drive). We appreciate the last minute accommodation to dine-in on a Friday night. Terrific atmosphere with great & attentive staff. Love the variation of food offerings & the portions were considerably large. The food was so appealing that we forgot to take photos before eating, however, you can't go wrong with their menu as they offer an array of food & everything tasted delicious. Compliments to the chef(s) for the delicious dishes, & our server Stacey for taking care of us for the night. We plan on coming back here again to try the rest of the menu.
