Review Summary

Tommy Café is widely celebrated for its stunning architecture and inviting, cozy atmosphere situated in the heart of Old Montreal, making it a popular destination for both locals and tourists. Many visitors praise the high quality of the coffee, particularly the lattes and espresso-based drinks, alongside a variety of fresh pastries and flavorful brunch options like avocado toast. While the unique, multi-level seating and vibrant decor contribute to an aesthetic experience, the cafe is frequently very busy, which can lead to limited seating and wait times. Opinions on the service and food consistency remain mixed, as some guests appreciate the friendly and accommodating staff, while others find the pricing high and the environment crowded. Ultimately, it remains a go-to spot for those seeking a memorable cafe experience in a beautiful historic setting.

A cozy place to spend time in the heart of downtown Montreal 👌

My croissant was ok. Undercooked & doughy. However, the salmon avacado toast was excellent & big enough to share 😋

Coffee was ok; but the barista wouldn't prepare americano in a short cup (says they do not do that here) which I never heard before. Their almond/choco croissant was too sweat but it was not the worst. Nice but a bit overrated

Amazing space! Coffee was good & sandwich was nice but avocado toast wasn't great.

The good thing about this restaurant is that it's located just around the corner from the Notre Dame. The inside is beautiful & the seats are plush. The price is touristy (for two drinks + two sandwiches we paid $60). They've definitely gone for quantity over quality with the portions. The coffee was large but very watered down, I'd rather it was half that size & twice as strong. The sandwiches were not the freshest but not bad. The salad confused me.

Super cute spot! Was excited to have brunch. Ordered 2 brew coffee & was seriously tasted like water. Tried to make it better with sugar amd cream, didnt work at all so asked for latte. Different server wasnt happy with what we have said & we(3 of us) actually felt it. Place wasnt ecen that busy after we got there but my latte & cappucchino arrived after our meal. Our seever who took our ordered never checked on us. Maybe its montreal thing.. Food was decent & loved deco. Its very cute. Washroom is super narrow & not the best one. Had a chance to speak with other guest who is from Ottawa. Said the same thing. They didnt have good service. Too bad. Wont recommend here if you are big for a good service. You wont get it.

The place looks cool & is quite busy. Service at cash is slow, be prepared to wait a while. Employees are nice however. The coffee is really bad though, I was shocked. Tastes burnt & like they need to clean/service their machines. I would recommend something matcha based or without espresso. Didn't have food but it looked tasty.

Just had baked goods but they were excellent. Cashier was friendly & accommodating. Loved the atmosphere - two stories of eclectic furniture in a lovely old building. It was busy but we were still able to find a table in a back corner upstairs.
