Review Summary

Tiradito is widely celebrated as a vibrant destination for Peruvian-inspired tapas, offering a unique dining experience centered around high-energy bar seating. Many guests rave about the fresh, flavorful dishes, particularly the ceviche and creative small plates, which are expertly prepared and beautifully presented. The atmosphere is frequently described as lively, stylish, and perfect for social outings, complemented by a talented staff and an impressive selection of cocktails like the Pisco Sour. While some diners note that the music can be loud and the bar stools may not suit everyone for long durations, the overall consensus highlights a memorable culinary adventure that keeps regulars returning time and again.

This was my 2nd visit, & while the service was ok (though inattentive), the food was not as good as our last visit. The crispy shrimps seemed like they were cooked from frozen (I had expected a seasoned batter, tempura, something with flavor), the cheese empanadas seemed overdone (& were deep fried - was not expecting them to taste like a deep fried won ton), & the chicken dumplings were cold. Even though food is served as tapas, the portions were REALLY small for the price (bao bun is just one bao bun, there were only 4 tiny shrimp, there was barely any salmon in the salmon tartare). I also find the restaurant smells too strongly of fish - I get that prep areas are open to diners, but the smell is really too strong. & the restaurant is all bar stool (which are horrible for your back)- & are way too high for the average woman whose feet don't reach the ground - so your feet are left dangling for the entire meal. You are also forced to look sideways to talk to your companions. Very uncomfortable. Sadly, I won't be back.

Just wandering by & heard the Latin music playing so went in. So glad I did. Everything was fantastic! Small tapas style servings, everything's better than the last so you keep having to try things!
Staff is amazing!

Always liked this place, since day one. The portion/size is tapas style. Perfect to share & try lots of different dishes.

Only downfall last night, no spring water. Seems a recurrent thing in the montreal food scene. People happily pay 18$ + fpr a cocktail but we cant buy good water… Tap water is gross, filled with chemicals, plus its an easy upsell for the restauranteur. Management should give those tools for the waiting staff to sell. Also, they didnt have any non-alcoholic beer. The staff told me they were in'rupture de stock' -out of stock. Why not order an alternative/ replacement product until they are able to order this product? Again, management, please provide your waiting staff products so they can sell.

The ambiance is great. The waiting staff/bar staff is very good. The food is really really good. If you like Nikkei food, this is one of the best in montreal. Happy to see they are still open after all those years.

Highly recommend!!

This was a really great restaurant. Tapas style, so pick 3-4 plates per person. Everything we tried was delicious & the presentation was amazing. Our one complaint was the service. Sometimes it would take 15-20 minutes between servings, or even without our waitress coming to check on us. The restaurant didn't seem particularly busy, & there appeared to be lots of waiters. We were hesitant on a second serving, even on a second round of drinks, but ultimately held back due to the wait. Otherwise, a very unique dining experience. The duck & the chicharróns are WOW

Excellent food, fun vibe & perfect pit stop before a night out. Great location. Be ready to sit at a bar top. The drinks / menu feel true to the Peruvian theme in a tapas style.

Tiradito is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, & it's easy to understand how it has become one of Montreal's most beloved Peruvian destinations. The restaurant blends the spirit of a lively tapas bar with the finesse of contemporary gastronomy, all guided by Executive Chef Marcel Larrea, who delivers an explosion of flavors with every dish.

The concept is distinctive: no tables, only counters wrapping around the room. It creates a vibrant, social atmosphere where the energy of the kitchen becomes part of the experience.

🍽? The Food
We sampled a selection of classics - ceviche, causa, chicharrón, yuca fries, cocktails & pisco.

Each plate arrives like a piece of art: visually stunning, meticulously composed, & bursting with color. & the best part is that the taste fully lives up to the presentation.

Ceviche: a masterclass in balance. The fish is silky & tender, contrasted by the crunch of the cancha corn, creating a refined interplay of textures.
Causa: delicate & refreshing, with layers that reveal themselves gradually on the palate.
Chicharrón: crisp, generous, & deeply satisfying, elevated by the chef's Peruvian touch.
Yuca fries: a more elegant & wholesome alternative to traditional fries, with a dense yet soft interior.
Cocktails & pisco: expertly crafted, aromatic, & transporting - the kind of drinks that make you feel like you're sitting somewhere tropical by the sea.
At several moments, the flavors were so bright & evocative that I genuinely felt transported far from downtown Montreal.

🌟 Ambiance & Service
The space is trendy, stylish, & perfect for impressing a friend, colleague, or date. The service is warm & efficient.

💸 Value
For such a central location, the ambiance, & the level of culinary execution, the prices are surprisingly reasonable. You leave feeling like you've experienced something special without the bill becoming excessive.

Bottom line: Tiradito remains one of Montreal's standout ambassadors of Peruvian cuisine. A must?visit for anyone looking to travel through flavor without leaving the city. This place has become one of our top restaurant spots in this city. Highly recommended.
