No tables, just really uncomfortable bar-like tables. The dishes are super expensive & the portions are tiny, like, really tiny. I've lived in Peru & I'm around a bunch of Peruvian restaurants, & I've never seen such overpriced dishes.
This is my favourite restaurant in Montreal. Flavourful, creative dishes that blend different cuisines. Amazing cocktails. Great ambiance. Friendly staff.
Wants to be creative & trendy but quality of the dishes is not where it should be for the price. Cold mashed potatoes as a base for crab & octopus dishes is a let down, as others pointed out. Mango salad was swimming in extremely sweet syrupy concoction. Why? Service was friendly, reasonably fast. A little loud but that's the style. Seating is at the bar, good for solo diners or couples.
Always liked this place, since day one. The portion/size is tapas style. Perfect to share & try lots of different dishes.
Only downfall last night, no spring water. Seems a recurrent thing in the montreal food scene. People happily pay 18$ + fpr a cocktail but we cant buy good water… Tap water is gross, filled with chemicals, plus its an easy upsell for the restauranteur. Management should give those tools for the waiting staff to sell. Also, they didnt have any non-alcoholic beer. The staff told me they were in'rupture de stock' -out of stock. Why not order an alternative/ replacement product until they are able to order this product? Again, management, please provide your waiting staff products so they can sell.
The ambiance is great. The waiting staff/bar staff is very good. The food is really really good. If you like Nikkei food, this is one of the best in montreal. Happy to see they are still open after all those years.
Highly recommend!!
We had such high hopes for Tiradito, our experience was a bit of a mixed bag.
Seating is done as bar tables, which whilst it gives a great view of your cocktails being made, isn't for everyone.
Our cocktails were prompt & tasty.
Dishes were brought out one at a time, hot first & then cold.
The octopus & duck dishes were delicious, & the best part of our meal. The ceviche was oddly served in a bowl, the fish was a little too chunky to eat delicately & the accompaniments didn't seem to pair well. The crispy prawns were well overcooked, as being wrapped in filo, the pastry took longer to fry than the prawns did.
A couple of times during service, we were handed dishes that we hadn't ordered, even though the restaurant only had a handful of tables & it took 4 attempts to be given our correct bill.
If you love healthy food & reggaeton, this is your new favourite place
Servers & kitchen were super kind to modify veggie dishes to be vegan.
Service was attentive
Food is absolutely beautiful on the plate. Only downside is price point, but you get what you pay for… it was worth the splurge & on point with similar restaurants in the area.
Server was helpful when we mentioned we had tickets to the ballet & needed to head off to the theatre on time.
Also went to the downstairs bar with DJ Kavx last Saturday. No cover, & great music. Good vibes.
Five stars! Will come back often
This place is absolutely delicious! Lively environment & we were lucky to sit where you could see the chef preparing the fish dishes in front of you (Shoutout to Eric, he was so friendly & his fresh fish dishes were next level). The ingredients are super fresh & the drinks are delicious. We will be back any time we find ourselves in Montreal!
A hidden gem in downtown Montreal. Entrance is obscured by purple curtains. Atmosphere was that of a lively bar. Spanish music playing & lots of happy locals. Food was excellent. Portions are on the smaller side, but tasty. Recommend trying their cocktail specialties, such as the traditional Pisco sour. Goes very well with the fried chicken traditional dish. They use habanero peppers generously, so the dishes are quite spicy. Seating are all stools. Walk-ins are welcome but reservations are recommended for the best spots by the windows.
Tried this place a few minutes up the street from where I work & was not disappointed. The fusion of the dishes is Peruvian/Japanese & each dish was very flavourful & fresh. The cocktails we tried were very tasty & well presented. The same applies to the dishes, the plating was super well done. The staff was very friendly, definitely recommend this spot.
