Tiradito consistently dazzles with fresh, flavorful Peruvian fusion tapas, standout ceviche, and inventive cocktails, all set in a stylish, lively bar atmosphere. The staff are friendly and attentive, the vibes are energetic yet welcoming, and sharing plates make for a fun, social dining experience. Occasional downsides include loud music and bar seating that can feel tight, but overall guests leave impressed and eager to return.
We had such high hopes for Tirdito, our experience was a bit of a mixed bag.
Seating is done as bar tables, which whilst it gives a great view of your cocktails being made, isn't for everyone.
Our cocktails were prompt & tasty.
Dishes were brought out one at a time, hot first & then cold.
The octopus & duck dishes were delicious, & the best part of our meal. The ceviche was oddly served in a bowl, the fish was a little too chunky to eat delicately & the accompaniments didn't seem to pair well. The crispy prawns were well overcooked, as being wrapped in filo, the pastry took longer to fry than the prawns did.
A couple of times during service, we were handed dishes that we hadn't ordered, even though the restaurant only had a handful of tables & it took 4 attempts to be given our correct bill.

Tiradito is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, & it's easy to understand how it has become one of Montreal's most beloved Peruvian destinations. The restaurant blends the spirit of a lively tapas bar with the finesse of contemporary gastronomy, all guided by Executive Chef Marcel Larrea, who delivers an explosion of flavors with every dish.
The concept is distinctive: no tables, only counters wrapping around the room. It creates a vibrant, social atmosphere where the energy of the kitchen becomes part of the experience.
🍽? The Food
We sampled a selection of classics - ceviche, causa, chicharrón, yuca fries, cocktails & pisco.
Each plate arrives like a piece of art: visually stunning, meticulously composed, & bursting with color. & the best part is that the taste fully lives up to the presentation.
Ceviche: a masterclass in balance. The fish is silky & tender, contrasted by the crunch of the cancha corn, creating a refined interplay of textures.
Causa: delicate & refreshing, with layers that reveal themselves gradually on the palate.
Chicharrón: crisp, generous, & deeply satisfying, elevated by the chef's Peruvian touch.
Yuca fries: a more elegant & wholesome alternative to traditional fries, with a dense yet soft interior.
Cocktails & pisco: expertly crafted, aromatic, & transporting - the kind of drinks that make you feel like you're sitting somewhere tropical by the sea.
At several moments, the flavors were so bright & evocative that I genuinely felt transported far from downtown Montreal.
🌟 Ambiance & Service
The space is trendy, stylish, & perfect for impressing a friend, colleague, or date. The service is warm & efficient.
💸 Value
For such a central location, the ambiance, & the level of culinary execution, the prices are surprisingly reasonable. You leave feeling like you've experienced something special without the bill becoming excessive.
Bottom line: Tiradito remains one of Montreal's standout ambassadors of Peruvian cuisine. A must?visit for anyone looking to travel through flavor without leaving the city. This place has become one of our top restaurant spots in this city. Highly recommended.
We discovered Tiradito on our way to Old Montreal, everything we had was good & superb in presentation, the Pollo frito & Ceviche with Chicha Morada a must.
This was our second visit to Tiradito & it was just as good as the first. We tried to order different things & enjoyed them all. Quite a buzz, though a bit noisy for older people like us. We will be back!
