indian(29) chicken(20) samosa(14) tasty(14) recommend(13) quick(13) butter chicken(12) naan(12) price(11) curry(11) vegetarian(9) paneer(8)Came here several times. First time today I didn't become full from the meat thali. Not enough butter chicken & too much rice. I will not be fooled! There must be perfect balance. When i get full, I pass out. Not today. :(
Very disappointing delivered meal. We didn't like the butter chicken (tasteless), the lamb (tough meat), naan bread (was not well done), etc.
Delicious food, a lot of varying, high quality flavors. Best Indian cuisine in town. Would return for more.
The food was ok
I really didn't like the ambiance.
Run down & didn't feel clean.
Excellent Indian restaurant that I've known for over a decade . I definitely recommend this one .
Thali is one of my favorite Indian places for a quick meal. The food is always ready, all you have to do is choose what you want. This is a family owned restaurant, the flavours are authentic & feel like it was home made. The only issue is the consistency, the food can taste slightly different from time to time depends on who is the chef on that day.
It is very cheap compared to other places in Montreal, for 15$ you can get a big plate with rice, lentil soup, naan, & 3 curries of your choice. My go to are the butter chicken & the palak paneer.
One of the great Indian meal that i ate in my life. I sent there each time when i go to Montréal. Really good service too. What a nice nice tiny restaurant close to St-Catherine. A service in french could be complete for a perfect note.
Le meilleur resto indien a Montréal. Super service tout sourire & attentionné. Super petit resto près de Ste-Catherine. Un service en français complèterait pour une note parfaite.
It is a very simple room, but the food is just wonderful & reasonably priced. Highly recommended.
Amazing! I would rate it 6 stars if I could. My friend & I both got platters of about 2 kinds of meats, rice, naan, a veggie dish & a lentil dish + samosas, & it was incredibly delicious!
The place itself is not the greatest looking but the food is really good. We did order a thali & we could choose four options from the buffet. All the vegetarian ones were flavorful, good amount of spicyness, basically everything you want. The fresh garlic Naan was delicious as well as the fresh Mango Lassy. I will definitely come back when I am around.
The onion yogurt curry was possibly the best curry i've ever had in my life thus fa
So, we've now sampled the entire menu over a few weeks.
& the verdict is out: it is very meh. But thankfully they aren't the only brown spot in the area anymore.
The naan is somehow burnt & raw. Like thawed uncooked chapati.
Rice is nothing to write home about, but edible.
The veggies & legumes are all just fine.
The desserts…. a-ok.
The beef tastes like bark.
The lamb is ordinary.
The chicken is very good.
But the butter chicken? I suspect their sauce's secret is Kraft Dinner powder.
It used to be very good (many years ago). Not sure what happened! We would order often in the past & were never dissatisfied, what a shame.
Only thing worth something is the samosas! For 1.75$, they are actually very good & filling. Ideal for broke students!
I'm giving an extra star for the very clever comment replies that the management leaves! Pure snotty gold! But seriously, don't go there. We have so many alternatives now.
A flavour of India!! Loved their food. You'll get roti, nan, samosa, chicken curry, lamb curry, paneer, fuchka, snacks, what not!! Quality & quantity both are good. Good for a takeaway/ dine in, they are super quick in food delivery.
