Was in Montreal for a quick trip & the night before leaving I decided to come to Thali Cuisine Indienne. Best food I have had in years, no exaggeration. Not pictured in my photo is that a warm naan was placed on my plate right after this photo was taken. I will definitely be back, & I have told my friends about how incredible the food is here.
I recently visited Thali Cuisine Indienne & had both the vegetarian & non-vegetarian thalis.
Vegetarian Thali:
Onion Curry: 10/10 ⭐ - Absolutely delicious & full of flavor.
Baingan Bharta: 9/10 - Smoky, well-seasoned, & very enjoyable.
Palak Paneer: 7/10 - Good, but could have had a richer flavor.
Served with rice & naan.
Non-Vegetarian Thali:
Chicken Curry: 10/10 ⭐ - The standout dish; perfectly spiced & very flavorful.
Butter Chicken: 7/10 - Decent, though it didn't stand out compared to the chicken curry.
Lentils (Dal): 7/10 - Good, but fairly average.
Served with rice & naan.
I'd definitely recommend this restaurant, especially for the onion curry, chicken curry, & baingan bharta. If you enjoy authentic Indian thalis with generous portions, it's well worth a visit. Overall rating: 8.8/10.
If you want quick Indian , went there 4 times. The value is unbeatable. For $15-17 you get a huge plate with rice, lentil soup, naan, & three curries & meal is filling. The butter chicken was really good & the bread too was fresh. Actually the food was consistent all the time. The place needs to be more cleaned, but still 4 stars.
My friend recommend me this place & I'm so happy I discovered it! Amazing portions for the cheap thalis, 15$ for non vegetarian (2 meats, 1 veg) & 14$ for vegetarian (3 veg) exploding with aromas & spicy flavours. They are huge & come with rice & a huge fresh naan. The ladies who work there are super sweet!
I would recommend to get the lamb: it's sooo delicious that at my second time there I took twice of it for my non vegetarian thali that comes with 2 meats & 1 vegetable option that you can choose. YUM
Thali is one of my favorite Indian places for a quick meal. The food is always ready, all you have to do is choose what you want. This is a family owned restaurant, the flavours are authentic & feel like it was home made. The only issue is the consistency, the food can taste slightly different from time to time depends on who is the chef on that day.
It is very cheap compared to other places in Montreal, for 15$ you can get a big plate with rice, lentil soup, naan, & 3 curries of your choice. My go to are the butter chicken & the palak paneer.
Amazing! I would rate it 6 stars if I could. My friend & I both got platters of about 2 kinds of meats, rice, naan, a veggie dish & a lentil dish + samosas, & it was incredibly delicious!
The place itself is not the greatest looking but the food is really good. We did order a thali & we could choose four options from the buffet. All the vegetarian ones were flavorful, good amount of spicyness, basically everything you want. The fresh garlic Naan was delicious as well as the fresh Mango Lassy. I will definitely come back when I am around.
