TESFA is described as a small, cozy, welcoming spot where the food is consistently fresh, flavorful and prepared with care, with the falafel pita and sabich pita repeatedly called standout items and the hummus noted as exceptionally smooth. Reviewers praise a wide variety of Mediterranean offerings including shawarma, shish taouk and kebab pita, with many calling it the best falafel in Montreal and the bread and sauces highlighted as especially fresh and well balanced. The staff and atmosphere receive many compliments for warmth and friendliness, giving the dining experience a family owned vibe that feels personal and inviting. Some reviewers mention the small space can make seating tricky at busy times, and a few visits note occasional inconsistencies or changes in taste, but these are in the minority compared with the overall praise for freshness, quality and value. Overall it is seen as a hidden gem in the Plateau, offering affordable, high quality Mediterranean dishes that leave diners eager to return.
While I want to say that I reluctantly write this review, because I wouldn't want to cause unnecessary stress on the guys working behind the counter, my god!! I can't skip on leaving a review. This place is banging!
We tried this on a whim instead of going for familiar favourites on Mont-Royal, & it did 👏 not 👏 disappoint.👏
Everything from the Sheed to the Falafel was unique in flavour & balance. It was light but filling. & price? Better than everything around it. Now, I'm one to love the new shops opening up around, but they're missing the mark on balancing their quality & price... Unlike them, Tesfa doesn't. Every single person coming in knew what they were in for. Cartoonish double-takes left & right.
I'm form the beautiful state of Israel & this was by far the best falafel I had in a really long time! The owner was extremely polite & friendly.
The falafel was perfect! I'd definitely be back.
Yum!
I have ordered from here & visited many times, & it's always GREAT. The sandwiches, fries, & falafel are exquisite. Every single element is well-seasoned & comes together perfectly. + The owner is very kind & the prices are fair.
By far the best Mediterranean diner in Montreal!!
Really yummy! & kid friendly. We ordered the falafel entree for the kids & added a pita & sweet potato fries & it was a perfect meal for the little ones! The Sabich I ordered was one of the best I've ever had! Highly recommend!
Great place for Mediterranean food. A mix of Turkish, Israeli, & Egyptian style with fresh & authentic dishes. I highly suggest trying any of their sandwiches with a small side of hummus, falafel, or sweet potato fries.
Hidden gem on Papineau/Mont-Royal! This is a MUST try. I already tried the falafel & the chicken pita. The taste is out of this world ! The spices are magical! Tesfu, the owner is very nice & have great taste in music! Give these magical pita's a try & you'll be addicted!

Casual spot for incredibly delicious pitas, falafel, shawarma, etc.. i highly recommend the falafel pita, & the sweet potato fries were great as well. 5 stars for service too! Must go in Montreal
We Love Oriental food & found TESFA via Google. It was absolutely delicious! The Falafel are awesome & the pita heaven in mouth! The Service needed some time, but thats worth it, cause the made everything fresh for everybody!
Excellent food! This was such a great find in Montreal. Meat portions could be a bit bigger, but the food is really good so still worth the price in my opinion. Definitely the best humus & falafel I've had outside of Israel. Shawarma is less traditional & not shaved off a rotisserie, but quite flavourful & moist, just wish the meat portion was a bit larger. Definitely beats most of the Lebanese style shawarma you mostly find in Montreal. Whatever else you get, do not skip out on a humus plate to accompany it. The falafel is also very good & you get 4 balls with the humus plate.
TESFA is the BEST!!! Our most regularly visited restaurant & beyond delicious every time. The music is always phenomenal, all the staff are so welcoming & kind, & I have never left unsatisfied. While the falafel & pita sandwiches are out of this world, they have my favourite french fries in the city! I cannot overstate how much TESFA deserves your business.
