TESFA is described as a small, cozy, welcoming spot where the food is consistently fresh, flavorful and prepared with care, with the falafel pita and sabich pita repeatedly called standout items and the hummus noted as exceptionally smooth. Reviewers praise a wide variety of Mediterranean offerings including shawarma, shish taouk and kebab pita, with many calling it the best falafel in Montreal and the bread and sauces highlighted as especially fresh and well balanced. The staff and atmosphere receive many compliments for warmth and friendliness, giving the dining experience a family owned vibe that feels personal and inviting. Some reviewers mention the small space can make seating tricky at busy times, and a few visits note occasional inconsistencies or changes in taste, but these are in the minority compared with the overall praise for freshness, quality and value. Overall it is seen as a hidden gem in the Plateau, offering affordable, high quality Mediterranean dishes that leave diners eager to return.
Great experience at TESFA! My friend & I ordered two chicken shawarmas along with hummus & four falafels, & everything was excellent. Fresh, well-seasoned, & clearly made with care. The customer service was just as strong as the food. The staff & cooks were kind, hardworking, & welcoming throughout our visit. We also had the pleasure of meeting the co-founder, Efrem, who was genuinely warm & passionate about the restaurant. This is a place that values quality, hospitality, & teamwork. Looking forward to coming back again!

It's like fast-food without table service but they still ask for tip when you pay. Regretted to tip when I realised you have to PAY for water. Got the shawarma pita, pita is nice but the chicken is a bit dry.
Update: Ordered again & we are back to the original version!
Always my to go place for take out but today the food tasted way different than usual. There was too much cabbage in my falafel pita, next, too much tomato & cucumber moisture that made the bread so soggy from inside that I could not even finish it. They did not even put their usual sauce inside today. My boyfriend ordered the shawarma & said the chicken tasted not fresh. Whatever changed here should be undone right away!
This place deserves so much love. I got a Shawarma Pita & it was 🤌🤌🤌. The pickled chillies with the Mango sauce was amazing. Would definitely recommend.

We drove from Ottawa for Israeli hummus & we were blown away! The kebab & chicken shawarma are also amazing. So delicious & fresh. Thank you! Open a restaurant in Ottawa please!

Casual spot for incredibly delicious pitas, falafel, shawarma, etc.. i highly recommend the falafel pita, & the sweet potato fries were great as well. 5 stars for service too! Must go in Montreal
Excellent food! This was such a great find in Montreal. Meat portions could be a bit bigger, but the food is really good so still worth the price in my opinion. Definitely the best humus & falafel I've had outside of Israel. Shawarma is less traditional & not shaved off a rotisserie, but quite flavourful & moist, just wish the meat portion was a bit larger. Definitely beats most of the Lebanese style shawarma you mostly find in Montreal. Whatever else you get, do not skip out on a humus plate to accompany it. The falafel is also very good & you get 4 balls with the humus plate.

Ordered the Sheed pita & my partner had the Shawarma pita. Both of us were blown away. The chicken was so juicy & tender, & the pita was soft & fresh. I've never eaten a pita so quickly in my life, it was so good. I don't live in Montreal unfortunately & I can't stop thinking about these pitas! They really are unique. Next time I'm in town I'm going back to Tesfa!
Fantastic food! Shawarma pita was made with care using many fresh ingredients. Bread was freshly baked, & hummus was delicious. Restaurant is inviting & staff very friendly.
TESFA's take on Shawarma is a divine celebration of flavors, spices & angels' dust. Absolutely the best I have tasted in the Montreal area. I have tried several of their sandwiches: Shawarma... Pargit... Sabich... each amazing more than the other... very hard to pick a favorite. A quote from my son: Why did it take us so long to return to this place?! I want to bring all my friends here!
