Ouvert depuis 1927, le Midway est une institution mythique, voire même emblématique, de Montréal. Située au coin des rues Sainte-Catherine et Saint-Laurent, la taverne a vu plusieurs pages de l'histoire montréalaise défiler sous ses yeux. Plus de 20 parades de la coupe Stanley, l'arrivée du métro de Montréal, Expo 67 et bien plus.
Taverne Midway, taverne chaleureuse au style rétro, offre une ambiance conviviale avec une playlist éclectique et un décor de briques qui rappelle les bars urbains; le personnel est régulièrement loué pour sa gentillesse et son service attentif, capable de mettre les clients à l’aise et de rendre chaque visite agréable même lors des soirées les plus fréquentées; les boissons et les cocktails sont variés et appréciés, les bières sont bonnes et les nachos reviennent souvent en tête, tandis que l’offre culinaire paraît appétissante; l’endroit attire un public vivant et enthousiaste, idéal pour une première rencontre ou une sortie entre amis, avec une énergie qui peut aller du chill à la fête selon l’humeur et l’affluence; globalement, le rapport qualité-prix est perçu comme raisonnable et l’accueil chaleureux, l’ambiance et la possibilité de profiter du billard ou d’un concert improvisé font de cette adresse une halte à revisiter.
Very good prices. We took the nachos it was very good. The drinks were decent with a good happy hour (16h-19h). The Tom collins & Paloma were very good.
I came here for the first time last month & had the best time ever with my friend! My friend suggested that it was a great place for drinks & music; he was absolutely right! There are many think options & they are brought to us very quickly. They had a DJ who was playing really good music from modern hits to classic throwbacks. My friend & I were singing & dancing in our seats the entire time. The staff members were extremely friendly & were having fun as they were working; it was refreshing to see that. We had a blast & we'll definitely be back.
While exploring Montreal over the weekend, we stumbled upon Midway, not once, but twice during a bit of spontaneous bar hopping. It wasn't on our radar; we just happened to wander in while strolling down Saint Laurent Blvd. From the moment we walked in, there was a vibe. The bartenders felt like old friends- laughing, joking, & welcoming everyone with ease. As luck would have it, we arrived during the bar's birthday weekend, so the place was buzzing with celebration.
What made it truly memorable wasn't just the drinks or the music, but the people behind the bar. They were genuine, chatty, & even gave us a list of other local gems to check out. Their energy was contagious - we had a great time because they were clearly having a great time.
Montreal is a city full of character, & if you're lucky, you'll find yourself in a place like Midway where you don't just grab a drink, you feel like you belong.
Fantastic place for 2am food & drinks.
Staff is amazing, food is delicious & extremely fast. Drinks are strong in the best of ways. Couldn't believe the low prices for this upscale bar!!
If you need late night service, this is the spot!

First time in Montreal, we came down just for the weekend & spent both nights here for drinks. Absolutely love this place! Shoutout to bartender Paul & Ben & all the other hard workers there. Customer service skills 10/10!!
I must say very disappointed as an American . They try to take Advantage of you . Steal from you. Was suppose to receive over 20 dollars & change & the waiter ask if he can give us 8 dollars back lol . Did not allow us to make tip decision after they included tip spent 92 dollars on wings & three drinks. Be aware

Uses QR code menu without table accessable plug ins. (This is my primary reason for a 4 star review) Food was good but my modification was not applied (did not ask for remake, that is on me) & drinks came slow for how busy the bar was (Monday evening).

My favorite bar in my favorite city! Large space with lots of seating & there's a pool table in the back. Fast service at the bar. They have one hot looking crew of bartenders & they all make great drinks. Merci beacoup! A bientôt!
I can only share amazing details about this place I can't get any lower than that everything is 5 out of five or 10 out of five they should also list their drinks because their drink menu is incredible I've been everywhere in the city all over the world I've never drank anything like this in my life the prices are super reasonable the people are extremely friendly honestly this is probably the best drinks I've ever had in my life & this guy came in that I know from Quebec & he had the drinks & he couldn't get over it but not only do they make good drinks they give you the best advice of what drink to have after your first drink to get your your groove back & boy did it get my groove back these people are incredibly knowledgeable I've never had service like this in my life I know there are four people who own it guys you're incredibly smart I can't believe you're doing that & what stands out is that you don't people off respectful low key extremely talented individuals there's nothing bad about your place it would win every single award if it was me & I wish you like all the success & this is my new go to place is incredible & the atmosphere is incredible that I can't say a bad word & those drinks are Beyond incredible you're very sincerely Michael
