Ouvert depuis 1927, le Midway est une institution mythique, voire même emblématique, de Montréal. Située au coin des rues Sainte-Catherine et Saint-Laurent, la taverne a vu plusieurs pages de l'histoire montréalaise défiler sous ses yeux. Plus de 20 parades de la coupe Stanley, l'arrivée du métro de Montréal, Expo 67 et bien plus.
Taverne Midway, taverne chaleureuse au style rétro, offre une ambiance conviviale avec une playlist éclectique et un décor de briques qui rappelle les bars urbains; le personnel est régulièrement loué pour sa gentillesse et son service attentif, capable de mettre les clients à l’aise et de rendre chaque visite agréable même lors des soirées les plus fréquentées; les boissons et les cocktails sont variés et appréciés, les bières sont bonnes et les nachos reviennent souvent en tête, tandis que l’offre culinaire paraît appétissante; l’endroit attire un public vivant et enthousiaste, idéal pour une première rencontre ou une sortie entre amis, avec une énergie qui peut aller du chill à la fête selon l’humeur et l’affluence; globalement, le rapport qualité-prix est perçu comme raisonnable et l’accueil chaleureux, l’ambiance et la possibilité de profiter du billard ou d’un concert improvisé font de cette adresse une halte à revisiter.
This is an absolutely beautiful bar & great place for billiards / pool & beer.
The staff were all so incredibly nice. The beer they recommended was delicious, & the pool area was nice & & secluded from the rest of the bar. The one downside to the pool table is that it is near the washrooms.
The atmosphere is what elevates this bar as a spot to recommend. See the pictures for an idea, but the music selection fits the art deco vibe they have going perfectly in my opinion.
Other than the price of the beers which was a bit high, this is definitely a bar worth going to if you can afford it.

Great happy hour. Mojito was nice, beer was macro. The olive order was huge! & I love that it came with sun dried tomatoes for me since I hate olives 😂
Lovely place! went with some friends & stayed outside & it was very nice. nice beer, we didn't order much food but what it came was nice. Friendly staff . will come back fro beer next time in Montreal.
Stopped by here two nights, first on a Thursday then Saturday. Thursday was laidback with a decent amount of people & Saturday was busy but still chill. I think it's because people here are sitting either at the bar or tables conversing. It's not a bar where people stand & talk & walk around. I found that interesting as it makes for a different vibe. There's a variety of beers on draft & I tried one (Hop Valley) that was good. I drank a cocktail which was just the right amount of alcohol, not weak or strong. Its a pleasant & friendly place to relax with friends.
This bar quickly became our favorite spot in Montréal! Initially just searching for a place for a drink, we stumbled upon it conveniently close to our hotel. Inside, ample seating & a stylish industrial-retro décor greeted us. Our French server was not only friendly but also efficient, adding to our enjoyable experience. The pricing for beer is excellent, especially during the happy hours until 7pm, making it a fantastic deal. The ambiance is enhanced by tasteful, classic music selections. Despite having six beers, we found ourselves reluctant to leave. We're already planning our return on our next visit to Montréal.

Great experience at Taverne Midway good beer not too much expensive & very nice services from all staff. great meal (we ordered only nachos tapas but it was very nice) & FREE billards table in the bar Thanks for this great moment spent here easy to join from metro station
Paul was an amazing server, he was attentive to us & had no issues. Would highly recommend this place even if you just want to relax & grab a bite to eat. Very nice spirit selection & plenty of beers on tap. Definitely coming back.
I've ordered cheese burger bacon with an IPA beer! It was a really good combination! The burger was delicious, however I thought it was a little bigger. The music was amazing, playing many classics of Rock'n'roll. Also they have a jukebox that you can choose the song you wanna listen to. Nice PUB to go back someday! 👍👍👍
