The Taverna Raw Bar & Plancha is a true gem! We have lived in the Hudson area for years & this is by far the best licensed restaurant in the area.
The open concept makes it very intimate & personal. Being able to interact with Chef Jay & request dishes prepared in a custom manner, with Maitre d'D Paul offering an excellent wine selection & Heather covering with mixologist drinks, makes for a truly memorable gastronomic evening. Head Chef Tino ensures a amazing menu of bold flavours & flawlessly fresh oysters, fish & sea food. A must-visit! Jean C
We had been going to taverna for the last 2 years & recently it has declined & the portion sizes have gotten so small. I had the lobster roll & wish I would've taken a picture because it was literally one bite & lacked flavor. Ordered a bottle of Pellegrino & we had to ask the waitresses for glasses…

We came here for the first time to celebrate my birthday, & the experience was truly unforgettable! The service was attentive, the drinks were amazing, the food was delicious, & the atmosphere was perfect. Everything exceeded our expectations, & we can't wait to come back again soon!
We chose this spot at the last minute on a Saturday before heading to a play at the Hudson Village Theatre, & we got there just in time before the place was fully booked. It was a wonderful surprise! We had just gotten back from a vacation in the maritimes & walking in there felt like we had never left. Their specialty is seafood & cocktails (but do have other choices) & my lobster roll was even better than the one I had in PEI! (I regret not taking a picture of it for this review). The stunning eclectic bar made us feel like we had walked into a secret speakeasy. The decor was very cool & classy & the bar stools / chairs were really comfortable. Loved their music playlist choices, playing at the perfect sound level so that it was easy to have a pleasant conversation. Paul, the restaurant manager/barman made us feel right at home & had a very refined, & delicate subtle attention to detail. It was also nice to see the chefs working & oyster chucking passionately & at ease in their open-concept kitchen. The Taverna is now our favourite hidden'pearl' in the area, & we look forward to going back.
Had an amazing evening here. Food was terrific. Service was on point & atmosphere was perfect for me & my wife out on our anniversary supper. Highly recommend all the seafood.
Friendly, attentive service - even when busy. The varied menu includes tasty gluten-free options, even a cheesecake. The shaded terrace is comfortable. Convenient on-site parking is a big plus. A charming, fun spot for both casual & elegant dining.
wow! i am honestly so happy we have a restaurant like this so close to home. the food is absolutely spectacular & FRESH. the cocktails were sooooo incredible & the service was amazing. seriously recommend this spot to everybody 10/10 all-around!
What a great place! Food is amazing, even if you are not a big fan of seafood. Atmosphere is unique & the staff: great! If you haven't already experienced it, it's worth checking out
Malheureusement, les moules étaient froides. Nous les avons demandé plus chaudes, elles sont revenues (les mêmes) trop cuites. Aucune ventilation, vous devez vous attendre à sentir le poisson en sortant. Pas une super expérience. On nous a offert un dessert que nous avons refusé. Aucune correction à l'addition. Nous ne recommandons pas.

Nous y sommes allés pour la fête de mon mari. Nourriture délicieuse, les employés sont gentils & belle ambiance. Nous allons definitivement y retourner.
The food was fantastic! Its a small place, i suggest you make réservations. Fresh oysters! Yum! Good cocktail & wine sélection as well
The three Tartares were OK with the tuna the standout, the salmon good & the beef tasty but not cut fine enough & a little too chewy for my taste. The three thin slices of pork belly were well cooked & tasty. The main course should have been the highlight as it was the rarely available Chilean Sea Bass. The tiny, a quarter pound.or less, piece of fish was totally overwhelmed by a robust Mediterranean sauce. The sauce was tasty but the very expensive piece of fish could have been any well cooked white fish. The fries were not as good as they used to be - standard oven fries available at any supermarket.
I had high hopes but was disappointed. At this price range I expected my main course to arrive after I finished my appetizers. The main was luke warm & way too expensive for wath it was. I don't think I will go back
Great cocktails, so many specials on top of the fantastic menu every night & a downtown vibe. Mixed grill sharing plate is a must!
Amazing restaurant with the best atmosphere & tastiest food. Highly recommend to anyone in the West Island area, a gem of a restaurant! Jess is also amazing, great server & bartender 😊 Will definitely be back!
The server was very nice but all of the tables next to us on the patio had not been cleared so not the best ambience. It would have taken 2 mins to clear up the mess. 1. The clam chowder came out brown & cold the first time - 2nd time it was white, creamy & hot & was actually quite nice. 2. The salmon tartare had no flavour & was on a base of watery guacamole that looked like it came out of a package 3. The tuna tartare was tasty but the fish looked like it had been cut with a blunt knife or put through a blender. The octopus was actually quite nice. So 1 out of 4 dishes made for a pretty dissapointing meal. To finish the night off a local drunk got kicked out of the restaurant & proceeded to run up & down main with bare feet - which was the highlight of the night.
