Reviews often mention
vietnamese(131) dishes(54) authentic(49) banh(44) roll(42) pho(41) recommend(39) rice(32) sauce(27) soup(27) beef(27) pork(25)Waiting 30' for a spring roll & pho & it came out mediocre. Pho was so bland that I needed to pour hoisin sauce for some flavour. Spring roll was so thin, inside falling out the moment my kid bited. I regretted coming here thinking I could have authentic Vietnamese food after a long drive.
We came here on a Friday night after seeing this place all over social media, & it definitely lived up to the hype. The restaurant was packed, & we arrived about an hour before closing. Unfortunately, they had already sold out of the bánh cu?n, which we were really looking forward to try.
The food took a little while to come out, but the service more than made up for it. The owners actually came to our table to personally apologize for the delay, which we really appreciated. That kind of hospitality is rare these days.
When the food arrived, it was excellent, totally worth the wait. A few of their dishes are hard to find in other Vietnamese spots around Montreal, which made the experience even more special. What really stood out also was their dessert menu. It had way more options than most Vietnamese restaurants, including a chè 5 màu with durian, something I've never seen anywhere else.
Overall, amazing food, standout service, & unique offerings. We'll definitely be coming back (hopefully earlier next time so we can try the bánh cu?n)!
When to this place a few times. If you're in a hurry, don't go there. I been here at least 3 times, average waiting time was around 30min before getting your meals. Worst wait was a hour, I went around diner time. I specially like the Bun Cha Hanoi. We also try the Bo la lot, they didn't give us proper rice paper the first time, they seem surprise when we ask for that.
There's some other nice unique dish here that you won't find elsewhere. The Bun Cha Hanoi for example has a different flavour when you try it here.
Service is slow, it likes a mom/pop shop that doesn't have enough staff as they rely on family.
It's also a BYOW.
A place that hits all the spots
Finally 🥳
Thit nuong & pho broth are really good
I'm always coming out of Vietnamese restaurants unsatisfied but thanks to this
It makes it less hard to miss & crave for this type of cuisine
Will come back for sure !
Absolutely amazing dishes & flavors This place is a must for the Vietnamese dishes. & a bonus that it's a BYOB. But just go for the food
