Review Summary

T'ami Restaurant is widely recognized for serving authentic and flavorful Northern Vietnamese cuisine that stands out for its freshness and traditional preparation. Guests frequently praise the wide variety of unique dishes, such as the Bun Cha Hanoi, banh cuon, and crispy crab rolls, noting the generous portions and artistic presentation. While the dining experience is often described as welcoming and homey, the restaurant operates as a family-run establishment where service can sometimes be paced more leisurely during busy periods. Many visitors appreciate the BYOB policy, the relaxing atmosphere, and the genuine hospitality provided by the owners and staff, making it a popular destination for those seeking a memorable and satisfying meal in the city.

We had T11, & it was very tasty & authentic. We purposely came here for the soup & weren't disappointed; way better than the ones we had in Toronto. We also had T10, DS1 & DS2, all excellent & very reasonable prices. Service may be a bit slow as they were vey busy on a Saturday evening.

My friends & I, a group of four, all Vietnamese, went for dinner on a Saturday night, & we all left loving it.

We ordered T1 Bún Ch? Hà N?i, T10 Bánh Cu?n Mixed, F3 C?m Chiên Tôm, S1 Soupe Maison, & E6 Bánh Tôm Hà N?i. The S1 soup was warm & comforting, a great way to start the meal. The E6 Bánh Tôm was good, though a bit oily for my taste. My favourite was the Bánh Cu?n Mixed, so tasty. But the real surprise of the night was the F3 C?m Chiên Tôm, it blew us away, & we ended up ordering an extra one just to bring home.

As Vietnamese diners, it means a lot to find a menu with this much variety, a lot of Northern dishes that most other Vietnamese restaurants in Montreal just don't carry. I'd also tried their Bánh Xèo on a previous visit, & it was excellent - crispy & loaded with toppings.

The staff & the owner were so friendly, it felt like being taken care of by family. Honestly, I wish they had a second location closer to downtown, I'd be here so much more often!

Wow

We waited for a long time for our food. It could be because the kitchen was backed up with orders due to the need to prepare food for the two larger parties. The table next to us came much later & they have their dishes at the same time as us. For the pho, the noodles stuck together, the soup was not hot, & considering we ordered the all in pho, we expect there to be more than 2-3 slices of beef. For the Banh uot thit nuong, the steam rice noodles also stuck together. For the 3 dinners in Montreal, this one has been the worst.

Soup has been good. But today's tofu Pad Thai was not the best - rice noodles with ketchup , not much fun to eat - sadly -

We ordered in & started with the wonton soup, which was absolutely delicious & easily my favorite part of the meal. My husband really enjoyed it too. He also had the vegetarian imperial rolls & was a big fan.

We shared the Banh Hoi Thit Nuong (grilled pork), a go-to for me when it comes to Vietnamese cuisine, & the grilled beef with rice. Both meats had a nice grilled char flavor that we appreciated.

That said, I was expecting a little more overall based on the reviews & photos. It also felt a little overpriced for what it was. Still, everything was pretty good. We'd definitely order the soup again, possibly even visit in person just for that.

Great Vietnamese spot, big menu with interesting choices!
We had the T'ami Imperial Rolls, tom yum soup as entrés & for the main dishes; T1 - Bun Cha Ha Noi & the G5-Chicken, Beef & Grilled Shrimp.
Very tasty grilled meats & flavourful sauce!
Will be returning soon.

Everything was average. The food was OK but bland, very'soupy' peanut chicken. There were more vegetables than actual chicken in my plate (I'd say barely 1 chicken breast). Service was limited. Won't return.

The best Vietnamese food I've had in Montreal so far. We ordered the $55 set meal, plus chicken wings & glass noodles. Nothing's more comforting than a bowl of hot soup on a cold winter's day. The glass noodles had a unique texture, & the fish sauce chicken wings were incredibly flavorful. Definitely a restaurant I'll return to.
