Such an amazing experience! From the decor, the service & to the food!
I walked in & got welcomed. They offered me explanations for the drinks & food. I decided to go with the carne asada burrito & I'm glad I did! Also took the hibiscus agua fresca & it was so refreshing. Glad to have came back after 5 years. Thank you to everyone who served me! Will be back again
This place is truly a hidden gem for Mexican food in the West Island. The moment you walk in, it feels like you've been transported to Mexico rather than Canada. The ambiance is lively & full of energy, with vibrant colors & great vibes throughout the restaurant.
You can immediately tell how popular it is. When I arrived around 6 PM for takeout, there wasn't a single empty table, & at least 10 people were already lined up for pickup - I was 10th in line. Within minutes, another 6-7 people joined behind me. Despite the crowd, everything moved quickly & efficiently.
Now, the food - we ordered a Vegetarian Bowl & a Burrito. The flavors were completely different from typical franchise-style Mexican spots. Everything tasted fresh, authentic, & full of character. Service was impressively fast, even during the rush.
The seating capacity is around 30-35 people, so it does get crowded, but that just adds to the lively atmosphere. Everyone seemed to be enjoying both the food & the ambiance.
Overall, this is a must-visit spot if you want to experience flavorful Mexican food & a vibrant atmosphere.
Food is salty & spicy in order to hide the lack of freshness. Burritos are cold, tacos & quesadillas are ok. Nice decoration but very cluttered. The bathroom floor is a hazard in itself. For the price, you are better order some sushi from another restaurant.
Restaurant bien dans l'ensemble. L'ambiance & la décoration amène de la diversité au quartier. La nourriture )Burrito au chorizo) était bonne sans être exceptionnelle. J'aurais un peu plus de nachos comme à côté dans le combo.
We ordered the quesa birria. The 3 tacos were filling & delicious, came with a side of nachos. The broth was very flavorful. They make their own hot sauces, which we loved. We didn't order any alcoholic drinks but we regretted it because they looked amazing. Also the horchata was very sweet & less your typical kind. But definitely will be back to try more things on their menu. But it seems from the tables around us that the quesa birria is the most popular. Seating can be tight if busy. We came in time before the rush. Very nicely decorated & ambience is nice with spanish music playing.
Update: they have made the insides more roomy which is great. But I can't justify paying $18 + tax for a burrito. Which is mainly rice & toppings with a small amount of meat. $20 for one burrito with a side of literally 6 nacho chips is a little crazy. Sorry!
I felt like I was in Cancun, Mexico. Wild atmosphere & fun. Lots of energy, fun staff, quick tasty food.
Beef Burritos now super amazing to my liking as once upon a time was too salty - but now they fixed the recipe & I had the best mind blowing Burritos in decades with so many condiment options you have to try it out. They won't disappoint you. Food is amazing, so many juices, drinks, & knick knacks. They are so friendly & helpful - high energy & super cool place to visit. Iconic & a Montreal landmark. You have to check it out.
Absolutely incredible Tacos & Burritos. I used to go to Quesada on St-Jean every week before I found out about this place but I don't anymore, this place is the real deal, I've been going every week now for over 3 months. Authentic mom & pop Mexican food. The ambience is stunning, just look at the pictures. They have a great variety of burrito toppings to chose from, stuff I've never seen in regular chains like cactus & whatnot. Their chorizo is simply incredible. I saw a comment that they don't toast the burrito making it leaks all over the place, & it's true BUT once Marianna offered to have it toasted & it stopped the leaking. So they don't do this systematically, I think you can ask for it. They're a bit expensive but hey, I prefer giving a bit of extra money to this awesome place than to a faceless burrito chain. I highly recommend this Mexican joint.
Food is fine. The options is really where it's good. You have a multitude of choice. I just can't get over the fact that it costs 50$ for 2 burritos & 2 drinks. 60 with a tip. Also service was pretty slow but that's ok, what bothered me the most is how backwards the line to order pay & then choose the toppings is.
