I am updating my review because my recent visit was a completely different story. My first experience was for takeout during the pandemic & it was fairly underwhelming, but dining in this time was fantastic. The food was excellent & the atmosphere is so vibrant, fun, & authentically Mexican. It is a total 180 from my previous visit. I am really glad I gave this place another chance because everything from the flavors to the energy of the space was spot on. My family & I had a great time & we will definitely be back. If you had a mixed experience before, it is absolutely worth a second look.
This place is truly a hidden gem for Mexican food in the West Island. The moment you walk in, it feels like you've been transported to Mexico rather than Canada. The ambiance is lively & full of energy, with vibrant colors & great vibes throughout the restaurant.
You can immediately tell how popular it is. When I arrived around 6 PM for takeout, there wasn't a single empty table, & at least 10 people were already lined up for pickup - I was 10th in line. Within minutes, another 6-7 people joined behind me. Despite the crowd, everything moved quickly & efficiently.
Now, the food - we ordered a Vegetarian Bowl & a Burrito. The flavors were completely different from typical franchise-style Mexican spots. Everything tasted fresh, authentic, & full of character. Service was impressively fast, even during the rush.
The seating capacity is around 30-35 people, so it does get crowded, but that just adds to the lively atmosphere. Everyone seemed to be enjoying both the food & the ambiance.
Overall, this is a must-visit spot if you want to experience flavorful Mexican food & a vibrant atmosphere.

Tacos are ok not the best but not bad either & they were well packed!
But the 7.49 charge for beans & rice (+soft drink) was really not worth it the beans were really basic & the rice was bad (not cooked enough & not properly seasoned we both didn't eat it) the pico de gallo rotation needs to be even smaller because the cup I got went bad.
The horchata was HORRIBLE, clearly the powdered one & the strawberry flavor made it even worst.. it taste like medicine. That horrendous thing deserves -1/10😖😂
It's a ok place if you're in the area but I won't drive 30min to get there
We went there for the birria tacos & we weren't overly impressed. The tacos were very basic in flavor & the consomé completely lacked flavor. You'd expect broth that was made by stewing beef for several hours in a medley of spices would be jam-packed with flavor but it honestly tasted like tomato soup. Their horchata was terrible & a complete waste of money. The customer service was also lacking as we waited at the cash for a good 15 minutes before we were addressed by the staff. Even while serving us, the cashier kept getting distracted & pulled into conversations by their colleagues. Unfortunately, we won't be returning.
The food itself was okay, but I do think that I might've gotten the wrong taco. I originally asked for the original birria taco, but mine came with a cheesier shell. This made it quite heavy, & I struggled to finish my second taco.
The atmosphere itself was fun. Very fitting for a taco place. The service was pretty standard, friendly, & answered any questions we had.
Overall, it was okay. However, I wouldn't come back unless my friends wanted to try other flavors.

We ordered the quesa birria. The 3 tacos were filling & delicious,came with a side of nachos. The broth was very flavorful. They make their own hot sauces, which we loved. We didn't order any alcoholic drinks but we regretted it because they looked amazing. Also the horchata was very sweet & less your typical kind. But definitely will be back to try more things on their menu. But it seems from the tables around us that the quesa birria is the most popular. Seating can be tight if busy. We came in time before the rush. Very nicely decorated & ambience is nice with spanish music playing.
Update: they have made the insides more roomy which is great. But I can't justify paying $18 + tax for a burrito. Which is mainly rice & toppings with a small amount of meat. $20 for one burrito with a side of literally 6 nacho chips is a little crazy. Sorry!

I can't recommend it enough.
Great taco spot. The tacos are thick!! So meaty & they have a sauce station so you can go hard. Take the onion habanero if you're looking for that spice. Authentic, felt like I was in Mexico somewhere, tasted like it too. So much flavor, so much meat, & at a great price. What more can you ask for?
Great experience at Tacos Don Rigo! The food was good, especially the queso birria tacos, which were flavorful & satisfying. The pricing is a bit more costly than average but the atmosphere was inviting, making it a nice place to enjoy a meal. The service is straightforward: you order at the front, grab your food, & find a seat wherever you like. Overall, it's a fantastic spot for tasty tacos, & I'll definitely be back!

Authentic flavors, recommend any of the tacos, especially the chorizos. One of the best frozen margaritas I had. Super friendly service, live the decor & even had live music!
Service was honestly great, the lady that took my order was very nice, so had no problems there. Someone said that the Quesa Birria & salsa had no flavor, salt wise, however that's not the case, in my opinion it's prepared with everyone in mind, not everyone is going to want salty food, & props to them for keeping everyone in mind. I had 4 stars for atmosphere because it does feel a bit cramped inside, the seats & relatively close to each other leaving just enough space to walk, but otherwise the vibe is nice.
Ordered to go some quesedillas & burritos. The taste, texture, flavor & overall quality were beyond any other Mexican restaurant in the west island. Very authentic with home made nacho chips, salsas, etc. Looking forward to eating at this place as it just looks amazing & original compared to many dry restaurants.
