What a beautiful authentic restaurant! A hidden little gem! Great service, gorgeous setting & delicious fresh made tacos! Thoroughly enjoyed the experience!!
Loved the atmosphere! It's like being in a restaurant in Mexico! 🇲🇽
Beautifully decorated!!! Seriously amazing for the vibes!
Service was very nice & kind.
🌮Food was delicious & tasty but we felt it was on the greasy side- that is why I docked a star. Very very tasty, flavorful & fresh but was dripping with oil which we didn't like.
This place is truly a hidden gem for Mexican food in the West Island. The moment you walk in, it feels like you've been transported to Mexico rather than Canada. The ambiance is lively & full of energy, with vibrant colors & great vibes throughout the restaurant.
You can immediately tell how popular it is. When I arrived around 6 PM for takeout, there wasn't a single empty table, & at least 10 people were already lined up for pickup - I was 10th in line. Within minutes, another 6-7 people joined behind me. Despite the crowd, everything moved quickly & efficiently.
Now, the food - we ordered a Vegetarian Bowl & a Burrito. The flavors were completely different from typical franchise-style Mexican spots. Everything tasted fresh, authentic, & full of character. Service was impressively fast, even during the rush.
The seating capacity is around 30-35 people, so it does get crowded, but that just adds to the lively atmosphere. Everyone seemed to be enjoying both the food & the ambiance.
Overall, this is a must-visit spot if you want to experience flavorful Mexican food & a vibrant atmosphere.
In my experience the best, most authentic Mexican restaurant in Montreal. Not a corporate American Disneyland version of Mexican dining, but the real thing. The decor is vintage Mexicana brought by the owner from his family ranch in Mexico. Colorful & genuine. Even using horse saddles as seats on side. The food is amazing. Fresh & a varied menu. The prices are reasonable & the service excellent with a friendly Latina staff. Also a well-stocked bar which has an excellent reputation for its margaritas.
Seating in winter is very limited & it's always a tight fit. But always worth it!
Best taco I've ever eaten. Everything was fresh, full of flavor, & cooked perfectly.
Food is salty & spicy in order to hide the lack of freshness. Burritos are cold, tacos & quesadillas are ok. Nice decoration but very cluttered. The bathroom floor is a hazard in itself. For the price, you are better order some sushi from another restaurant.
The food is incredible, everything in the menu is fresh & delicious. The owner is regularly there & he is kind & approachable, same as all people in the restaurant; super friendly. The decoration is nice but it's a little crowded since it's an small place. Not necessarily a bad thing though, feel authentic Mexican. Great music, amazing food, friendly staff. Totally recommended!
We were welcomed warmly by the owner, who graciously explained some items on the menu. The food was incredible, fresh. You can really tell that it is a labour of love. Would definitely recommend to anyone.
Tacos are really good & fresh however service could be a little faster. Always a line up & very slow to get your order. Good to see mom & pop shop thriving tho.
Don Rigo are the best tacos in Montreal hands down. If you're craving authentic Mexican tacos in Canada, look no further. From the first bite, I felt like I was transported back to Mexico. The flavors are bold, fresh, & incredibly authentic, capturing the true essence of Mexican street food. The tortillas are soft & perfectly made, the meats are juicy & seasoned to perfection, & the toppings add just the right touch. They even have salsas that pack real heat, just like home! The atmosphere is welcoming, & the staff is friendly & attentive. Whether you're a taco lover or just curious to try authentic Mexican cuisine, this place is a must-visit. I can't recommend it enough.
Absolutely delicious. Authentic tastes, fresh ingredients, highly recommend!
First time customer, the service was fantastic, the food was fresh & authentic.
What an absolute gem! Some of the best Mexican food I've ever had on the island. I had never heard of this place before this past weekend. I had a car full of hungry kids & we just searched "west island restaurants" hoping for a quick bite. We went in with zero expectations. The décor is amazing, with walls full of memorabilia & quirky decorations. The whole place has a comfortable, lived-in, cluttercore sort of vibe & personally I am here for it. It's unpretentious & welcoming right away. The food is outstanding, with a great variety of Mexican staples at very reasonable prices. Our family of four were able to eat our fill of mouthwatering tacos & burritos, made with fresh ingredients, for roughly the same amount I would have spent for drive-thru burgers. If you like Mexican food & enjoy a casual, family-friendly vibe, you need to check this place out ASAP.
My wife & I love this place if you can't go to Mexico let Mexico come to you. The owners were super friendly & the staff & the food was fresh & was amzing Mucho Gracias Mr.Don Rigo
