We went there for the birria tacos & we weren't overly impressed. The tacos were very basic in flavor & the consomé completely lacked flavor. You'd expect broth that was made by stewing beef for several hours in a medley of spices would be jam-packed with flavor but it honestly tasted like tomato soup. Their horchata was terrible & a complete waste of money. The customer service was also lacking as we waited at the cash for a good 15 minutes before we were addressed by the staff. Even while serving us, the cashier kept getting distracted & pulled into conversations by their colleagues. Unfortunately, we won't be returning.View more

You feel welecome as soon as you walk in. The owner is amazing with a great personality !!! I had ordered a pick up of queso birria tacos with extra cheese there was a miss undertsanding over the phone when I showed up the owner insisted to re do the order for me.
It was my first time trying there tacos & I regret not having time to dine in. The decore is as amazing as the food I will be back for sure.

Tacos Don Rigo was a good experience.
The food itself was okay, but I do think that I might've gotten the wrong taco. I originally asked for the original birria taco, but mine came with a cheesier shell. This made it quite heavy, & I struggled to finish my second taco.
The atmosphere itself was fun. Very fitting for a taco place. The service was pretty standard, friendly, & answered any questions we had.
Overall, it was okay. However, I wouldn't come back unless my friends wanted to try other flavors.View more

We ordered the quesa birria. The 3 tacos were filling & delicious,came with a side of nachos. The broth was very flavorful. They make their own hot sauces, which we loved. We didn't order any alcoholic drinks but we regretted it because they looked amazing. Also the horchata was very sweet & less your typical kind. But definitely will be back to try more things on their menu. But it seems from the tables around us that the quesa birria is the most popular. Seating can be tight if busy. We came in time before the rush. Very nicely decorated & ambience is nice with spanish music playing.
Update: they have made the insides more roomy which is great. But I can't justify paying $18 + tax for a burrito. Which is mainly rice & toppings with a small amount of meat. $20 for one burrito with a side of literally 6 nacho chips is a little crazy. Sorry!View more

I was my first visit & I really enjoyed the food. We ordered Queso birria & cochinita pibil. They were so tasty & juicy. The drinks were delicious (Margaritas mango & strawberry). Amazing food, the staff are nice & accommodating as well. I would have given 5 stars but the organization/atmosphere wasnt too good. There's just one cash for everything so if you order for pick up, you could end up waiting in line for 10 minutes behind people ordering. There was no sign where to go to pick up so I had no idea where to go. There was barely any space to stand, it's very cramped in there. I would only do pick up from this restaurant since it's so cramped in there. Thanks though for the amazing quesa Birria tacos. Very delicious.View more

Service was honestly great, the lady that took my order was very nice, so had no problems there. Someone said that the Quesa Birria & salsa had no flavor, salt wise, however that's not the case, in my opinion it's prepared with everyone in mind, not everyone is going to want salty food, & props to them for keeping everyone in mind. I had 4 stars for atmosphere because it does feel a bit cramped inside, the seats & relatively close to each other leaving just enough space to walk, but otherwise the vibe is nice.View more

Best Mexican food I've had in Montreal & it's not even close. Environment in here was crazy there's so much stuff but it's cool because there's always something to look at. Girlfriend & I got birria tacos which were 10/10. Big (perfectly sized) portions & amazing flavour. Service was incredible also they brought the food out within 5 minutes while we watched the rodeo in the TV. Amazing experience I will not order any other Mexican food in Montreal if it's not from this place.View more

This place is a must go if you're in the area & are looking for the full Mexican restaurant experience, the moment you walk into the restaurant from the often cold shiver of Canadian weather it feels like I just stepped off the plane into Mexico itself, with the music alongside the decor. As for the food, you get an absolute BOMB of a meal that in my opinion is set at an amazing price, my Birria itch has never been scratched so well, & to top it all off. The ordering process to getting my food is astonishingly quick, it surprises me every time & I love every single part of this gem of a place. The tacos' are as impressive as the Décor. Authentic & amazing. The Owners is such a cool guy & helped me order. If you shut your eyes & listen to the music, you would swear you are down south. The Carne Asada & the Taco de Birria are phenomenal. the best part of the Tacco de Birria is you get to drink that dipping sauce after like a soup. We hit this place in the winter, but we are coming back to town in the summer & we're sitting out on the patio with a margarita & our tacos.View more
