The sushi wasn't as fresh as I'd hoped, & the rice was a bit dry. The wait time was quite long even though the restaurant wasn't overly crowded. The staff weren't particularly attentive. I hope the restaurant will improve its quality & service in the future.
Sushi Rosa is definitely a place worth trying if you love Japanese food. The sushi is fresh, the rice is just right, & the presentation is very appealing. The staff are enthusiastic, the space is clean & quite cozy. I especially liked the combo sets because they were both delicious & affordable. I will definitely come back!
I honestly don't know what words to use to fully describe the sublime culinary experience of enjoying sushi here. It's not just a meal, but a journey into Japanese culture. From the very first bite of Otoro (fatty tuna belly), I was completely captivated; the fish melted on my tongue, leaving a delicate, rich flavor without being greasy. The rice (shari) was expertly seasoned, perfectly warm to body temperature, with fragrant, fluffy grains that weren't overly compressed. The chef's slicing technique was incredibly skillful; each nigiri piece was meticulously crafted like a work of art. The cozy, refined atmosphere, the soft music, & the scent of cedar wood created an absolutely relaxing ambiance. It was well worth the money for a truly exceptional evening.
The sushi here is truly fresh & delicious, with thick slices of fish & a naturally sweet flavor.
Each sashimi piece is beautifully presented, looking very appealing & professional.
The vinegared rice is perfectly seasoned, with fragrant, chewy grains that perfectly capture the traditional Japanese taste.
Especially noteworthy is the rich & flavorful grilled eel; once you try it, you'll never forget its delicious taste.
What sets this restaurant apart is the rice. The Japanese rice is sticky & fragrant, with firm grains, & is seasoned with just the right amount of vinegar - not too sour & not too strong. The combination of the fresh fish on top & the warm, slightly sticky rice underneath creates an extremely harmonious whole. Truly traditional sushi.
It's a decent little spot, the food was ok, definitely not great but wasn't terrible. My wife & tried combos which were chefs choice of combinations of Maki, sushi, nigiri & others. The rice was overcooked & the flavors were kind of plain. They also rolled Maki in what looks like Rice Crispies which I found kind of odd. We tried this place because it was close to our hotel & the rankings were higher, but not sure why. They should also try cleaning the glass holder for the candle they place on their platters, it was on the side, away from our food but not pleasing to see once we noticed.
Sushis innovateurs ! L'extérieur ressemble à des rice crispies. Serveur hyper sympa & rapide. Ambiance calme. Je conseille !
My favorite thing here is the sushi rice. The Japanese rice is fragrant & sticky, the grains are firm but not mushy, & the sweet & sour vinegar is perfectly balanced. Many places make rice that's too strongly vinegary or too bland, but here it's incredibly balanced, highlighting the sweetness of the toppings. A truly refined culinary experience.
The sushi was fresh, the rice was perfectly cooked, & the fish wasn't at all fishy. The presentation was beautiful; it looked so appetizing. The price was reasonable for the quality, definitely worth coming back for.
Gonna be real.. the rice krispies don't add much to the dish. They aren't even crispy, which I assume is the whole point of adding them. I appreciate the creativity put in them though.
We took the assortiment- & the udon soup.
Very disappointed, if you are from Montreal you are not going to like it! It's in front of a hotel maybe that's why they have so many good reviews, I don't know I am puzzled. But you are going to be disappointed! So many other great authentic Japanese sushi out there! This one is a pass! No freshness just a bunch of flowers & rice to decorate this whole thing! BIG PASS the meat is hard, you can't chew it!
Pass go somewhere else!
The people are nice though!
I have no idea why there are so many positive reviews for this restaurant.
-The food is horrible; the miso soup was a fish broth soup with large chunks of tofu. There was no miso in it ($8.75). It tasted Vietnamese but not as good. Like fish sauce from a bottle.
-The sushi was truly awful (& I've had IGA sushi that I have liked better). I highly doubt that the salmon was sushi grade. The rice was mush. The shrimp tempura was just batter.
-The dishes came with flowers on top (roses & some white flowers). Non-edible flowers are COVERED in insecticides, fungicides, & herbicides! They do not belong on food.
-They were playing very loud & bad electronic Christmas music over a TV with bad sound (hard to talk over it).
-If you pay cash, they give you a 10% discount & you do not get a receipt (so you know that is money laundry)
-The waiter did not speak English or French, & told us there was no club soda, sparkling water, or Perrier. Then we see the lady behind the counter drinking Perrier.
-The signs everywhere are English only. That doesn't usually bother me, but on top of everything else, it was just another example that they just do not care.
We did not finish the food. Especially the parts touching the roses & other flowers as those are a big health risk (& I wouldn't be surprised if they reuse them among customers). We actually left feeling violated & are really hoping not to get sick.
Sushi Rosa is truly impressive; the fish is fresh, sliced ??to just the right thickness, the rice is soft, & the seasoning is perfectly balanced. You can taste the freshness & deliciousness immediately.
I really like Sushi Rosa because the food is delicious, the ingredients are clearly sourced & clean. The sushi is soft, the rice is just right, the fish is fresh, & it's not greasy at all.
I loved this place! The nigiri has the perfect amount of rice ( not too much) & every dish is beautifully presented. The ambiance & service are excellent, & the prices are very reasonable for the quality. Everything was delicious. Definitely a spot I'd come back to!
My favorite is Sushi Rosa's sushi sets - reasonable price but excellent quality. The rice balls are just right, not dry or crumbly. Served with wasabi & soy sauce, it's the perfect Japanese taste.
First time visiting Sushi Rosa & I was very impressed. The sashimi was thickly cut, fresh & sweet, the sushi rice was seasoned just right. My favorite was the sushi boat combo - delicious & filling. The staff were lovely, always smiling & giving enthusiastic advice on dishes. Worth a try!
I feel like I've been duped. Do not believe the 5 star reviews. The table we were sat at was dirty. The rice was beyond overcooked with the texture of oatmeal. The soy sauce tasted diluted. The rolls were sloppily made & half of them were falling apart when they came to our table. This is no fault of the hostess. She was kind & provided adequate service. Ive had better sushi at a gas station.

Sushi Rosa exceeded my expectations. Fresh seafood, well seasoned rice, & exquisite presentation. Friendly staff, fast service, & overall a very satisfying experience.
