They were very accommodating re gluten allergy. Sushi was delicious. I had sashimi, nigiri & rolls & they were all over my high expectations. This will be my go-to fancy sushi place for special occasions.View more
Fantastic upscale sushi. Fish was fresh, sashimi was cut thick, & real Wagyu & wasabi. It's definitely on the pricier side, but a great experience non the less!View more
This is probably the best sushi & sashimi I have ever had. On top of that our server was very attentive & friendly. Thank you for a great dining experience.View more
Love this restaurant. Small but great vibe. If you like sashimi, this is the place to go. Reservations are recommended, especially on the weekends. I came here for dinner. The sashimi platter was delicious. All the fish were so fresh. We also had the scallop sashimi & salmon noodles. The salmon noodles were ok. Not my favourite. The service was amazing. The waiter was very knowledgeable & very friendly. He made great recommendations.View more
Thank you Felix for the service, It was a great night, the food was exceptional ( sashimi premium) !! The place is BEAUTIFUL!!View more
Merci.View more
Wow ! Comment dire. Félicitation a toute l'équipe !View more
Really liked the sashimi platters. It was my first time & I enjoyed it a lot. Would recommend the servers to always ask if it's the customer's first time there, as I didn't know there was initially an order to eat the sashimi! Otherwise, the food is great.View more
View more
My husband & I went there 2 weeks ago, we tried the Hokkaido scallop sashimi, it was overkilled by the sauce, couldn't taste the scallops. The Otoro sashimi was stringy, the only dish we liked is the unagi sushi. Overall, the food presentation was good but the quality & taste were just so so, not worth the price. Unfortunately we will not go back.View more
**Edited, Feb 2024** Went again thinking it was the same quality but it wasn't... pieces are smaller, sashimis were very thick & less sauce used in rolls. Pretty deceived. Service still great Extremely delicious food & great presentation. It's a pretty place too! Downside was waiting time to get the food, otherwise great experience.View more
Very good sashimi & nigiri, but not amazing & rather over priced (meal came to over $200 per person). Similarly, It's a nice atmosphere inside, but the two-person tables are way too close to each other & you have very little privacy which I don't expect from a restaurant with those sort of prices. So although it was a nice experience, I can't justify returning.

The premium sashimi was fresh & delicious on top of the top notch service we had with our server made our experience a great one! We will definitely come back again :)View more
Service was attentive & respectful. Did not catch the waiter's name but he was knowledgeable.
Salmon noodle - refreshing & well presented
Premium 24 pc sashimi - fatty tuna texture was not good. It was fibrous causing the fish to get stuck in teeth as opposed to simply melt in mouth. The wagyu was well prepared, & better than what I had in Japan. Hamachi with the citrus emulsion was my preferred fish in the ensemble.
Uni from BC was quite fresh.
nigiri with scallop & foie gras - partner had it. She said it was fantastic. A bit overpriced in my opinion at $25 a piece.
Maki - ridiculously overpriced (triple to what I am used to paying) for the flavor. I wasn't impressed with this at all. The rice that came with scallop maki was hard. the Unagi torched maki was better, but partner found it too sweet.
Just way overpriced. Also, the payment machine did not allow for dollar amount tipping. Default option of tipping begins at 18%...Standard is 15% on the SUBTOTAL.
Bon service, rapide & courtois. Très cher dans l'ensemble. Merci pour la belle soirée !View more
This was my second time going to Hidden Fish. After I got home from this recent visit I left a review with Libero (online reservation company Hidden Fish uses) & did not get any response from the restaurant to my complaint. So I will repeat it here. First off I will state the good. The restaurant put us at a very nice table after I mentioned one person in my party had mobility issues & was immunocompromised. Secondly, the hostesses & wait staff overall were friendly & polite. Thirdly, although the quality was fine & we enjoyed our meal it was not as good as the first time we went (in the fall) which absolutely blew our minds. In the fall we only had a la carte nigiri. A lot had to do with size of the nigiri & selection you get with the Chef's Choice. The size of the Nigiri for the Chef's Choice is about a third smaller than the Nigiri a la carte. So if you have the funds I would opt for the a la carte Nigiri. I would say you'll spend more (perhaps ~ $1 more per piece) this way but enjoyment level will be elevated substantially. Of course the more expensive the nigiri the better it is. Also I found the maki had mostly rice & little fish. This included the eel & the albacore. The Oro King maki was good with more fish. We ordered the Premium Sashimi; Chef's Choice Nigiri; several maki; additional nigiri plus drinks; the total bill with tax & tip was ~ $750 for 4 people (which included a total of 84 pieces; 3 mocktails & 1 cocktail). The big issue is we were cheated. Our very last order was Oro King Nigiri & O Toro Nigiri (one of the most expensive nigiri). We saved the best for last. Those are our favourites particularly the O Toro. Note that the waiter takes the order but another person serves all the plates & points out the name of each piece of fish. This "naming" woman looks very serious with microphone attached to her head & a demeanor befitting an army sergeant. She named every piece of fish (with military precision) for every plate & platter that came out. We had the O Toro in our Premium Sashimi & which was pointed out & named. So we had all seen what it looked like. Yet when we ordered another O Toro nigiri it was not O Toro it was Chutoro (fatty tuna vs medium tuna). We ate it & didn't say anything. I like Chutoro & it was good but it wasn't what we ordered & of course there is a difference in price with O Toro being more expensive. Also the O Toro along with salmon are the fish that I could identify easily even before this meal. When the bill came I saw I was charged for O Toro not Chutoro (which is what we were given). Up to this point everyone enjoyed the meal. It was New Year's Eve. Why make a fuss? But when I got home I thought about it & thought WHY would they do this? The chef may have made a mistake with the order (although I find that hard to believe since they are professionals) But the server (who knew her fish) pointed to it & said it was O Toro when it wasn't (when she had named it correctly in the Premium Sashimi just minutes ago). So that was a flat out lie. Note that the restaurant was not busy at all. She was not pressed for time or stressed. So of course this has now put a damper over the whole experience. If you are like me I don't like to be cheated or lied to. It made me wonder if other fish was given to us which weren't what she said they were? So what do I think about Hidden Fish? I am truly very disappointed in an establishment that thinks it's okay to cheat or pull a fast one over their customers.View more
Amazing Nigiris & Sashimi, if you are searching for a restaurant that offer sushis similar to what you can find in Japan: This is the place! I highly recommend the premium sashimi & the chief selection nigiris, if you are 4 this will be perfect for all of you. I went there 3 times in 1 week because I wanted to share this amazing restaurant with other people.View more
One of the better sushi spots in town. I recommend the chef's sashimi & nigiri platters.View more
Excellent sushis, les sashimis sont super frais! Une expérience belle en soit!
The chef's choice sashimi & nigiri are just out of this world. Here, you have to try otoro/chu toro (the fatty parts of the tuna's belly) sashimi. You don't need to chew, it just melts away. It is expensive but it was worth every penny. This place is hands down my favorite sushi restaurant in Montreal so far.View more
We had such a wonderful experience at this stunning restaurant! The ambiance was truly captivating, with a perfect blend of aesthetics & atmosphere. The interior decor & table arrangement were exquisitely designed, adding to the overall charm of the place. As for the culinary delights, the sushi surpassed all expectations & left an indelible impression. The 24-piece premium sashimi platter was a true masterpiece, showcasing a remarkable assortment of impeccably fresh, high-quality fish. Each bite was a symphony of flavors that transported you to a realm of gastronomic delight.View more
Great quality sushi/sashimi, good presentation of the dish, the ambiance is nice with upbeat music but not too loud. We enjoyed our interaction with Shanna & we look forward to coming back next week!View more
This was a great spot for amazing sushi, sashimi, maki etc. The prices are quite high but worth it for the quality of food you're getting. It was genuinely the best sushi we've ever had! Also sat at the bar & got to watch them make the food which was very cool. Would visit again!!
This is definitely one of my top 5 sushi restaurants in Montreal.
The service was top of the line, & although they made a small mistake on my order, they fixed it right away. The ambience was super relaxed, & the decor was perfect.
I strongly suggest sticking with only nigiri & sashimi. We tried the rolls & they were good, but the rice was only so-so. They don't use the same rice as they do for the nigiri.
Overall, as I mentioned earlier, this is one of my top five sushi restaurants!
Best sushi in Montreal I've had so far! I prefer the nigiri & the sashimi's but honestly everything was great. The service was amazing & everyone was friendly! I appreciate that no one tried to upsell anything or make us feel uncomfortable. Very good experience, definitely returning
The sashimi & nigiri were very fresh & generous pieces.
The pricing is a bit exaggerated even though we all know that inflation has affected everything.
The service was on point & saké recommendation great!
