August 18th - 10am-ish Nice day in Montreal, just before the forecasted deluge that has already hit the GTA. We don't have to wait long, however, the wait was not really worth the food in terms of quality & quantity for the price paid. I very much dislike giving good people (the owner was there & is super nice & the staff sont très gentilles) 3* reviews but just calling it how it is. The kitchen was kind enough to replace the bacon in my egg sandwich (15CAD) with avocado sans frais, & while that is appreciated, it did little to enhance the overall experience. The food came out at room temperature. I expected it to be piping hot or atleast warm. The coffee was brewed without love & tasted meh. It was also not warm. They had poured it in thermoses & that's the way to go if you are making & refilling regularly. That was not the case here. The piripiri chicken was the worst we've had anywhere! The chicken was tasteless & dry, the marinade hung on the pieces, like laundry hung outside on a muggy day. The couscous was dry (no dash of citrus here). For 20 dollars, it was not worth it. Also gave my wife a headache (probably all the uncooked marinade). All in all, I made a choice & it was not the best choice. With all due respect to the original & current owners. Oh, & very pork heavy menu. Bacon & pork sausage galore. Our best regards to the owners, however. I understand that it is tough to run an eatery post-Covid with all the staff shortages.
The food here was verry delicious. There were many of us so we were able to order a variety of stuff. The service took a bit longer as it was very busy but the staff was really nice & friendly. The restaurant was clean but our baby seat was dirty & the place was a little tight.
Brunch savoureux. Ambiance agréable de quartier & surtout, un service souriant & accueillant! On y retourne!!
Très bonne adresse pour un bruncher. L'équipe est au top. Large choix. Prix abordable. Qualité présente.
MENU HACK: The veggie Benedict has a Parmesan/zucchini fritter as the base instead of country bread. So so so delicious! They should advertise this. Potatoes a bit bland. Salad way better. Very reasonable prices. No line on a Sunday at 1pm!
My first time here, & I absolutely loved this place! The food was amazing, & the staff were so sweet & welcoming. Our waiter Sarah was so kind & kept checking in on us, & the chef Yasmine was so accommodating & helpful with questions about the food. Would definitely recommend & come back here!
We go often with our daughter & they are super warm & welcoming. Their bacon is superior & they make their Hollandaise Sauce from scratch! It's delicious!
Absolutely adorable bistro!! The owner is the sweetest - delicious menu & lovely selection of cocktails & wines. We stopped in yesterday - first time in Montreal. We are heading back for brunch today!! You must stop by & try it out.
Bel endroit avec une ambiance agréable & un service impeccable. Nourriture assez ordinaire à fort prix. 20% moins cher & j'y retournerais régulièrement, mais à ce prix il y a bien mieux.
We tried this restaurant for brunch on a Sunday this summer. It was very hot outside &, despite all the open doors, also quite hot inside. The server was very friendly & attentive. There were several vegetarian options for both sweet & savoury tastes. We tried the french toast of the day (Nutella) & the pancakes. Both were a unique & unexpected experience. The pancakes were quite a bit more fluffy & sturdy than is typical. The french toast was perhaps not dipped in egg? Both were a bit dry. The portions are quite large & one dish could have sufficed both of us if we knew in advance. They sat us at the bench at the back of the restaurant, which had a lovely naturalistic view that was ideal for a calm experience.
Food was pretty good, but not everything was as described & the service was pretty bad. My sandwich had been accidentally dropped into the side soup & seemed like it was missing ingredients, & the cocktail I had was probably the worst I've had at a restaurant. However, the food was overall pretty good.
Second time stopped here at the end of a Montreal weekend & great both times. Great atmosphere & food. Eggs Benedict (once with ham, once with salmon) excellent & ftuit plate (berries orange etc). Easy access driving back to states from old Montreal or Centre Bell.
Delicious french toast, nice pancakes. Overall worth the price & visit
Reliable brunch spot! However, it is nothing shockingly good & it is far from the best brunch in Montreal. There were lots of spots open, so definitely do not need a reservation. Eggs benedict was okay, not amazing... Overall, decent, but won't blow you out of your mind.
Sunny's comes by the name rightfully - I was greeted with the sunniest welcome when I entered. The food was incredible. The brunch casserole, a breakfast take on poutine, was packed with flavor. The Pancake was so thick, & yet still fluffy, I didn't know such a thing existed. This small adorable diner contains mountains of flavor & personality.
