Granola & yogurt bowl had barely any granola & the yogurt in it was really poor quality. Tasted like it was no name plane yogurt.
The coffee was quite possibly the worst coffee I've ever had. First cup tepid. Second cup was hot, however they were both so bitter I couldn't drink them.
The waitress was lovely, but clearly they needed more than one.
Give it a pass
Had our last breakfast before our flight back to Dubai . We arrived early at 8:40 AM. The kitchen wasn't open yet, but they let us wait inside & gave us free coffee! Super friendly service. We got the French toast & Le Classic, & both were delicious. Thank you, Sunny's team, see you in December!
Had a pretty disappointing overall experience at Sunny's.
To start on a positive note, the hostess was friendly & seated us right away. From there it went downhill quickly.
The person who took our order did not seem happy to be there & seemed to struggle to understand our order (in both French & English). Our food came out fairly quickly but the quality & presentation was 0/10.
The French toast with fruits was dry & had a very small portion of strawberries & blueberries. Entirely flavourless & absolutely not worth $25.
The chicken pesto sandwich tasted okay however the chicken was poor quality & was similar to what you'd find in a pre-cooked package from the grocery store. Very rubbery & almost like a processed meat texture.
The coffee was absolutely tasteless.
Overall, the price is unjustified & the quality of ingredients & recipes needs serious improvement.
The food was terrible. The espresso tasted like bad breath. The filtered coffee just tasted weak & old.
I got the eggs Benedict boeuf effiloché. The potato's are a JOKE. The whole meal tasted like cafeteria food. The potato's are obviously bought frozen & they taste like they're microwaved. The English muffin is multigrain & bitter. The boeuf effiloché also tasted like it was pulled out of a can. The avocado was also not fresh. Just store bought avocado purée.
They aren't chefs, they're assemblers of Sysco.
The food was so disappointing, we didn't drink the coffees & ate in silence. We were starving. No one finished their plates.
Given the option I would give them 100 stars :)
We were at this place yesterday with our 3 month old baby's first outing. The owner & staff were incredibly generous & kind, they treated us with pancake & coffee on the house. I cant thank them enough for their kindness , it means so much to me.
We stopped by Sunny's Dinette yesterday around 12 PM, & it was such a great experience from start to finish. The staff were warm, friendly, & made us feel very welcome. I ordered the casserole, & it was honestly one of the best I've had-rich, flavorful, & cooked perfectly. My partner was also very happy with their meal. The café latte & cortado were both excellent & paired perfectly with the food. To top it all off, we were pleasantly surprised with complimentary pancakes, which were light, fluffy, & absolutely delicious. If you're looking for fresh food, great coffee, & an authentic Canadian diner atmosphere, I definitely recommend giving this place a try!
I really wanted to enjoy this place as it's close to home. Walked in on Saturday, seated outside which was great & it was a sunny day. Waitress took 20 minutes to come & see us, & it took an hour & 20 minutes to actually receive the food. I followed up with the waitress twice, which whom on the second time, told me some of the food was ready & on the counter, the other food was being cooked. I wasn't sure if I was supposed to be excited that my food was finally coming, or that my food was sitting on the counter until the rest was ready.
Told them I had a nut allergy. When the food was brought to the table, I asked if it was ok, waitress said she didn't know (it was a different person) & that she'd check with the kitchen & come back. She never did.
The scrambled eggs were nothing great, small portion, on a single plate. A separate plate for french toast, a separate plate for the potatoes. I don't understand why they wouldn't put it all in one plate. The waitress visibly saw that we had no space to fit all of that on the table, besides the other dishes, but she still'tried'. During the hour & 20 minute wait time, not once did she come back to ask us if we wanted a refill on our coffee, or anything in the meantime. Nor did she ever come to say sorry, or explain the lengthy wait time. At the very least, they could have simply waived the 3$ coffee from the bill to accommodate for the poor service, food quality, & wait time. It was truly a waste of 70$. We really wanted to like this spot, but we wont be returning.
